ATTN: RU-vid IS SHUTTING DOWN ALL GUN CHANNELS! I have moved over to Rumble. Others are leaving RU-vid in droves as well. All my NEW content is being posted on Rumble and all my old content is being sync'd by Rumble and stored on their servers for preservation. My channel is easy to find, just search for "NFA Review" in the search bar and you can find me and subscribe! RU-vid has given me 2 strikes so far on videos that weren't out during their new policy change. In addition they are deleting 5-6 videos of mine a week! They are doing the same to other Gun Channels and even the manufacturers that have channels. It's time we take our viewership over to Rumble! No more scrolling and watching non gun related content while we are logged in, no more fresh content, no more support. They don't want us here and Rumble has extended open arms to us and other free thinkers who aren't afraid to call BS on how far society has fallen! See ya on Rumble! - Adam

Cool product. The only thing I can think of to improve it would be to have a small rod/lever protruding from the cage that you could slip a cartridge case over to adjust it when its too hot to touch. Does that make sense?

Once you go through the first steps to determine your preferred suppressed/unsuppressed settings there’s no need to continue to adjust it. Example: 14.5” midlength shop rifle we have runs on #3 suppressed and #6 unsuppressed. Now that we know that, we just dial to #3 suppressed and #6 when unsuppressed and no further adjustment is required.

Retired law enforcement officer and Marine Corps veteran here. Never seen any rifle pause during full auto cycling like that which is seen at the 20:00 part. It's almost like there was some carbon buildup, metal expansion, or some other issue requiring a momentary pause for enough gas pressure to catch up or build up and continue cycling the mechanism. As one would expect, the mic used and suppressor setup allowed viewers to hear the engine-like effect of the BCG pushing everything down the barrel ahead of the incoming subsequent round. Sounds like an old west cowboy movie with a train passing by. Most notably to myself between the two suppressors was the volume of gas moving out the end of the suppressor versus the blowback at each setting of the gas control attachment. Maybe it was due to the older suppressor being used much more, or due to another cause, but there was a noticeable difference in the amount of gas and smoke appearing all over the rifle and shooter during the segment with the older suppressor. Must be such a horrible way to make a living! Oh how dreadful the mere thought of testing that which every true gunslut (such as myself) must be! *#PureJealousy*

It looks like the ROF on the Noveske was being affected by the spent casings bouncing off of the brass deflector and then hitting the bolt carrier as it was closing. One of them seemed to get between the bolt carrier and the front of the ejection port causing a delayed closing and it slowed down the ROF even more.

My bit of critique: you know, in lieu of having a bad day, leaving the range all grumpy and kicking the dog on the way to the kitchen afterwards, it is a simple thing to stop at just about any retail store, hardware box franchise, even the neighborhood grocery store, and pick up several thirty-three cent allen keys for adjusting the gas flow. If it turns out to be a soft metal tool, toss it in the trashcan and use another. I carry a pouch with dozens and replace the cheap ones as needed while hardened tool steel not so much.

The Zen of cleaning is not to be disregarded. I first found the Zen as a kid cleaning and polishing my first car. I’ve found the Zen doing all sorts of things since, some of them are: washing and polishing a floor; cleaning, preparing and painting a room; cleaning/maintaining a swimming pool; building a “hot” engine to drop into a project car. My best one was camping, waking up before dawn, walking up a mountain in the dark, watching the sunrise all alone in the world. I’ve found the Zen in strange places, at odd times I’ve found it while running, that’s the most intense form, almost out of body.

I think they should add some way to adjust when it's scorching hot such as intervals to use a casing or tip of a bullet to adjust it, maybe some bumps/notches at intervals for adjusting without having to check the gas setting number, and maybe even knurling? Just some small changes I think would help give the end user a feeling of more "valued features" for what they're purchasing. Also, I think this is a pretty great concept. Thought about the idea of a FAL-esque adjustable block for ARs that didn't involve using a screw or finagling the tip of a bullet through a slot in a handguard to change your gas setting.

I just had a set screw pop out of an adjustable gas block... it made the strangest whistle sound I've ever heard. I checked the chamber and there was the shell... I checked the chamber to make sure it was empty after manually extracting the shell by racking it and I stopped firing that gun because that range is super anal about doing any "maintenance" on the range, but when I got back home I removed the handguard and saw a gaping hole in the front of the gas block... It's not really "adjustable" more one of those "tunable" types. Initially, once I had got it where it was dependable; but not too gassy, I used red locktite and assumed it was good... after about 300 rnds it still walked itself out... This looks right up my alley... great review as usual.
@willardlentz3044

Locktite is heat sensitive like super glue. Heat is how you get locktite items apart.
@boss350z5
@boss350z5 2 года назад
@@willardlentz3044 Right, I understand stand, thus why I used red loctite, which as I understand, is solid up until about 700 degrees F. Also that's what was recommended by the manufacturer (Odin Works) and I wanted to be able to take a torch to it and make future adjustments to it as the gas port erodes. That particular gun is cooled via chamber cooler after each shot as my wife only uses it for group shooting at 100 - 300 yds. So were never mag dumping or heating the barrel to ridiculous temps. I considered rockset; but decided against due to wanting to have the ability to adjust it if need be... what would you suggest? Vibratyte maybe? Any feed back would be appreciated.
@willardlentz3044
@willardlentz3044 2 года назад
@@boss350z5 Most locktite type formulas are based on super glue. The best is a tight fitting thread but you probably don't have the tooling to do that. Vibratyte might work but I have very little experience with it. It is also a superglue derivative but I think it has a higher temp rating. Check the label. Somebody correct me if I am wrong. Even small groups will ruin red if the thread fit is loose. Sorry I can't help too much here. Good luck
@boss350z5
@boss350z5 2 года назад
@@willardlentz3044 Yeah, definitely dont have the tooling for that. I'll try the vibratyte and see if that holds; but you're definitely right about the threads being loose, i got a replacement screw for it and it wiggles. Handguard length is the issue on that one. The model RS7558 is made for a 16” midlength, but the 15” handguard means you won’t have the recommended 1-inch exposure for the Control Knob (the numbered part you turn to make adjustments). As long as you can live with less than 1-inch exposure on the Control Knob then the RS7558 is your solution. There’s a pic of a 16” midlength with an RS7558 on our Instagram. That pic shows a 13.7-inch CMT handguard, but you’ll be able to see how the RS7558 fits behind the muzzle device. Thanks for your interest!

@@DinoNucci no one wants to accommodate more configurations as much as we do. It’s not up to us, though. If you don’t mind having the control knob under the handguard then that’s your ticket.

Does back pressure in the gas tube reduce longevity. That's why I haven't bought one yet. I figured more pressure in the gas tube would cause it to blow up when it gets hot especially. Block adjusters just keep the pressure in the barrel which only helps projectile speeds. But has no negative effects otherwise

I didn’t see hardly any difference. I did see more gassing. I despise back gassing. I think an OSS suppressor which has a zero back pressure is all I need for back gassing. Not sure this innovation is working in your rifle setups, although it may find a niche in setups where you need to change back pressure. This would not make worth my time and money nor extra weight added. In my humble opinion. I run a suppressor on all my setups and once it is setup, I don’t have a need for this. Great video.

Also I think that's kind of the point. You can have different settings for each muzzle device and each ammo type. With other adjustable gas blocks, yes you can get everything adjusted perfectly for ONE system. Change ammo or your can and suddenly you find yourself having to take off your handguard, pull out an impossibly small allen key, and praying the set screw isn't gone or frozen. This block allows you to dial in all your different setups and switch back and forth with a twist, something that was NEVER possible before. I will definitely be using one on my next build.

What I get from this is that they need to make a revision to include a smaller diameter aperture. The gas system will not close off enough for suppressor use.
@mrsamuels5
@mrsamuels5 2 года назад
I think it does, the guy in the video just didn't do it right. He set it up for minimum gas setting unsuppressed and then tried to dial down with a can but it doesn't go down far enough. I believe you need to tune it with the longer plunger to minimum gas with the can on and then dial up (open) for unsuppressed.
@riflespeed
@riflespeed 2 года назад
The Gas Control does not use apertures. It uses a patented occlusion Plunger design that works suppressed and unsuppressed with every configuration of direct-gas AR available. Thanks for your interest!
@PhuVet
@PhuVet 2 года назад
I understand that semantics are that the aperture meaning hole in which the gas is allowed to pass is controlled by some patented device but a hole is a hole and an aperture is a hole. The hole in which the gas passes is not small enough. It may have to do with vortices that scavenge gas like a sump on the other side of the device but the fact is that there is still too much gas coming into the system. Once it got to the minimum setting the law of diminishing returns kicked in and it was not allowing the gas to completely shut off. There should be lower settings including a zero to turn it off completely just like everyone else uses. I think this zero setting would probably help remove carbon at the end of the session. Having looked at Mr Lynch's blueprint I do understand the system. It is as easy as pushing the pin into the hole to cover the port. The threads seem to be the limiting factor on the design. So if you add more notches you can lower the gas amount. If you make the threads finer you can change the setting to setting ratio or difference finer. Im not saying the design is not without merit. Quite the opposite. I'm a retired Armorer who worked at SOCOM. I have worked on hundreds of products who tried inventing a new system. I have even seen this before. But in a different packaging and behind the gas block, not in front. I have worked with other companies before on gas blocks. I'm only commenting to help. The rising tide lifts all boats. I shoot alot of suppressed ARs myself. I hate the excessive gas. I even designed an upper that had the ability to deflect gas from the system. You are on the right track. Just don't stop refining after launch. The Chinese will steal the design in minutes and will kill your business. I believe the solution will be found shortly for stoners curse.
@riflespeed
@riflespeed 2 года назад
@@PhuVet Semantics aren’t the issue at all. The gas is not restricted via apertures. The Gas Control shown in this video is not setup to “completely shut off” the gas. It could be, but there’s no reason to shut off the gas for what he’s doing. The goal here is to reduce the gas enough to achieve reduced recoil, reduced aiming disruption, reduced gas to the shooter’s face, increase service life, etc. while still allowing 100% reliable function. Once you get your hands on a Gas Control or have a chance to see one broken down to it’s components the method of operation will be more clear. Thanks for your interest!
@PhuVet
@PhuVet 2 года назад
@@riflespeed no hole, no gas. Think about it for a second, you'll get it. Whether you reduce the size of the opening by pin or rotating device doesn't matter, there still has to be a hole or gas will not pass. This hole is called an aperture. It has zero to do with your device. It is the inherent system. I'm not arguing any other point. Your device can be useful but if I bought one I'd need the pin to go in further to constrict more gas. Does your system allow for this?

@@fastshuther the rifle creates a gas from the cartridge when fired as the bullet goes down the barrel the gas circulates though the rifle back to the bolt carrier group which is what opens to make the case eject over gassing is just more gas then necessary pushing the shell casing from the rifle. If you shoot the rifle and it ejects the shell case forward of you it’s over gassed and that’s normal most factory rifles come over gassed because they don’t come with an adjustable gas block so over gassing is better then under gassed.
