How about letting us know what's the cheapest 7 string out there that is any good. I bought a Jackson 7 string for $199.99 it plays pretty nice but doesn't stay in tune very well. Thanks. Love your channel

@Ola Englund - what model JCM 800? Did you say and I'm just not catching it? I had a JCM 800 Lead Series back in the day (in the late 80's) and it had no distortion. I had to use distortion pedals to get any chug.

Charvel has been killing it with the DK series. The DK 24 2PT is probably the best guitar you can buy under 1000$ right now

I have that classic pair of humbuckers in a cheap Cort, and the sound is georgeous, everyone should give it a try on a guitar they love playing.

I have an old charvel from the 80s my mom played in her hairbands.. I put emgs in it and still play it. Awesome guitars. They have come a long way since the 80s. Sounds sick ola . Cheers

Say what you want against the Tone Zone / Air Norton combo being too muddy and all but I believe it is the most versatile pickups ever, can handle any genre...I've had Fishmans , BK to EMGs, There's something about the TZone that keeps me coming back to it.

I love that 7-string reverse fender headstock. So much better for string tension overall. It’s like a more premium version of my old trusty Squier Stagemaster 7 which is probably the only 7-string with a reverse headstock Fender/Squier ever made publicly available.

A Charvelle and a JCM is what brought up lots of guitarists back in the 1980's and 90's. There was literally no band l played in without at least one Charvel guitar. Btw, I am a bassplayer and played Fender and Warwick back in the days.

5 months later and this is still my favorite guitar ever! This review was literally the final straw that convinced me to order it. I believe it was the " dude, this is a sick ass guitar" comment that did it. It effortlessly plays itself seriously, and so versatile. I play prog and tech death metal as well as death grind on it.

I like it. It sounded like it held tune ok. I was told once that they won't do a fender headstock shape with that tilt back angle instead of the usual style. I like that too, looks stunning.

The Charvel nova is an amazing guitar. I have a 6 and 7 sting version. Not surprised as I’ve yet to play a Charvel that I don’t like.

The gold uncovered pickups are way to flashy personally, but massive props to there being a mass production 7 string with a non locking trem. We need more models like that. Ibanez, when you dropping a prestige 7 string AZ??? We saw Wes Hauch's prototype!

Damn that JCM 800 sounds super good. Also putting the drive up until about 8 o'clock on that Hex Drive is a clean boost. So unlike most overdrives you can turn drive up a bit more without adding any distortion.

I have a couple newer Charvels with the original Floyd Rose. They are quite easy to play and stay in tune remarkably well for the price point of the guitars.

I have a Squire Stagemaster 7 guitar from the year 2000 that has the exact same body and headstock shapes of this Charvel; the position of the switch and knobs is also almost identical!

It's a really good addition to your content to record the first part like you did on your tech bench! You should do that in every guitar testing, i loved when you did it the other Time. I got a brand new Charvel DK24 HSS with the floyd. I got it in a trade for my 2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio (amazing guitar btw) We both walked away very happy.

I have the Sage Green version of the Nova, amazing guitar. It really does feel like you are playing a 6 string even though its a 7 string!

@@depauditor sorry for the late response, I didn't get a notification that someone commented on this. Tuning stability for me is pretty decent. Handles dives pretty well. One noticable thing with it is the stock springs for the trem are loud as all hell. Other than that the guitar has been amazing to play.

I've been enjoying watching you do some minor setups on the guitar before the playing begins... Maybe spend 2 minutes or so grabbing the amplifier, some cables, and pedals you think would pair well with the guitar and amp in the video. RIG of the week is quickly becoming one of my favorite segments.

Seriously can't believe how huge that JCM 800 sounds. Every time I've played them they've been thin, raspy, shrill. I think the cab really does make all the difference here.

FYI on 2210/2205 Marshall’s, they can have channel bleed. Turning the clean channel all the way down will help. Mine was fixed after getting recapped.

I’ve actually moved away from sevens as well. For whatever reason, I approach writing differently. I am also gravitating from C standard back to D standard and even Eb Standard in terms of tunings. Let the bass player hold the bottom end.

I love the TZ 6, haven't tried the 7 string version yet. It can get muddy when tuning low, but it makes closer to standard tunings sound so big that I don't want to detune lol!

You get great tone with the marshall. Imho it sounds more raw and authentic than some of the newer more refined modern amps you usually play. Great video
