He palys the most elaborated and effected show ever with kinda 5 Boss pedals.. I shoul show this rig to some guitarists I know who own a 25 boutique pieces pedalboard for playing along with some cheap songwriters!

I got one OD-3 dirty cheap second hand. I've been through al lot of dirt pedals, you know the story. I take the Boss everywhere I go, it's "my Klon". That said I've been in love with my Eventide pedals for years now, they're like instruments to me, but the humble Boss is just perfect for its role. Killer pedal.

For the same reason a lot of touring musicians use Boss or MXR stuff. It can be replaced easily anywhere. If your tone relies on obscure pedals and one goes south in the middle of a tour you are left inconvenienced....and the crowd wont hear a difference anyway.

Calling Snowy an "IDIOT" means that someone is either stupid ,or immature,or both!This guy played in the "surrogate band" when the original show was put on,back in '80-'81 together with David,Nick,Rick and Roger !Do you think he knows nothing about gear and tone? What you witness here is that you don't have to own the most expensive rack gear or boutique pedals on the planet to get great tones!!! Watch and LEARN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a living legend talking. Snowy White himself. BTW his first guitar is exactly as old as I am. The rig rundown of Snowy means really a lot to me. I got it almost right only by listening to him.
@SixStringHarmonies
@SixStringHarmonies 12 лет назад
Yes, Snowy uses Boss pedals and the audience doesn't have a damn clue. Bedroom guitarists are spending thousands on gear to perfect their unheard tone, and here we have a pro (like hundreds of other pros) using "shitty", "cheap" Boss gear. When Roger takes you guys on tour, you can use all your vintage and boutique gear and watch it get torn to pieces and stolen. Meanwhile, REAL PROS keep the gems at home and take those little "tanks" out on the road. No one in the audience complains, not ever

fascinating, but you might want to NEVER use the standby switch on an AC30 that has a tube rectifier or you will keep losing output tubes, it's peculiar to that particular amp (unless you're plugging in an aftermarket solid state rectifier into the rectifier tube socket) that being said, the AC30 is a fantastic amp, and really sings when boosted and/or overdriven a bit

Well said! Although, I'm not being a smart ass here, just saying... Snowy White played with the band on the Animals tour in 1977 and on the original Wall tour in 1980-81. And, GE Smith plays bass most of the time, and again, on the original Wall tour, they had two bass players, Roger and Andy Bown... Like I said, not being a cocky prick, just passing comment, for those that didn't know! :)

That guitar, what a state! Snowy was such a crisp, clean cut, tidy young chap in Thin Lizzy - too "clean" for Lizzy perhaps; now, effectively in Pink Floyd, he plays a guitar that looks like that :D Where did it all go wrong? :D What would his Mum say? Great to see him again though - it took me fully 20 years to appreciate his time in Thin Lizzy, I just couldn't forgive him for not being Robbo but it was never his fault Robbo left and Snowy allowed Thin Lizzy to function and move on. And in hindsight China Town is a great album - it took me 20 years to appreciate that too! Renegade was an awesome tour too.

It probably just depends on how much time the talent and techs have to give. Unless there was someone far more popular and likely to bring views that she had to go interview, I imagine she'd hang around as long as they were wiling to go through their gear.

I love how self depreciating Snowey is. "...I try to use the black Strat to get an authentic tone...it isn't" He paid homage to the master himself on that one. The pedal board really surprised me. It looks...well...very poorly set up and configured. I know it's fine and does the job, but I am an amateur and my pedal board is much nicer than that contraption. When I think of big bands and all the money/gear they have access to, then I see something like that...
