ACR was so bad that I closed my account on there. Bots insta calling my big bets with sets on the flops, with no pairs or draws, just to get runner runner to beat me.

Wes, I stopped playing online poker in 2006 for this very reason. To the point where I was able to predict my one outter bad beats.

I stopped playing online, as easy and convenient as it was. When I first played, I took 1st place in my first ever STUD game... after that win, I continued to lose game after game, to ridiculous 1 or 2 outs or runner runner to beat my nut flop. We all have to learn the hard way, I guess.

What you observed is how the game is 100% of the time. It is “merely variance”, the shill says.

The software on all these poker sites are designed to induce betting and reraising, Bigger the pot, fatter the rake to the site. It´s crazy to think these sites are not rigged.

I stopped playing on ACR because it was plagued with bots.

Here is some food for thought. EA Sports has been caught with a patent called "Dynamic Difficulty Adjustment" (DDA). The premise of the patent is that when 2 players connect to their server to play against each other, the server gathers data from both players and rates their skill level. Once the server has determined each players skill level, it will "level the playing field" so that the worse player doesn't get frustrated and quit. They need players to not quit because they want them to purchase their player packs for their "Ultimate Team" modes where you purchase packs of virtual cards in hopes of getting virtual superstars to put onto your team (For example, you buy more packs hoping to "pull" a Ronaldo in FIFA so he can be on your team). EA Sports makes millions of dollars off of people buying these virtual cards. So they have gone to great lengths to artificially level the playing field between the highly skilled players and the casual players to increase their profit margins. This patent is extremely detailed and can be found online. Here is an excerpt from the EA Sports DDA Patent: "Another solution that may be used in some types of competitive video games , such as racing games , is to vary the ability of the user or the user ' s competitor based on the relationship between the user and the user ' s competitor . For example , supposing that the video game is a racing game , the user ' s car may be made faster when the user is doing poorly and may be made slower when the user is doing well . This solution may result in what is sometimes referred to as a “ rubber band effect . ” So here is some food for thought. If video game companies are already using technology like this to artificially level the playing field between skilled and non-skilled players, Wouldn't it be likely that online poker sites, which are making an exponentially more money, be doing something at least as advanced as this?

I’m a largely live player and over Christmas tried ACR and same dang thing as this whole blog...stupid easy run-ups in tourneys only to lose in amazingly brutal fashion and then same nonsense in cash. Somehow it’s always the perfect card that no one can get away from...it’s got to be a bonafide scam

Made thousands on partypoker in 2002. As the years went on I noticed more and more constant badbeats. The software became rake friendly by giving everyone a shot to win on the flop . By 2005 it was noticably rigged and I had to quit.

I played poker stars. Not anymore. The amount of times I was one outed and rivered was a sick joke. Especially in the Saturday specials. Almost every weekend I was beat by quads in the specials. To the point where 1 of two tournament losses were to quads or 4 card str8 or flush runs. When asking for hand reviews and play patterns u get given the email that reads bad beats are a part of poker 😏. Yeh I don’t mind being beaten but being scammed and cheated is a different matter. Avoid all online poker it’s alll the same. 💩

equitable distribution programming. more hands seen equals the faster bad players go bust. This leads to a shrinking player pool, which leads to less rake. Which leads to less money for poker rooms. If bad players are given more favorable cards to stop them from losing more frequently it increases rake for the site. If good players take more bad beats they have to play more hands to keep a steady win rate. Increases rake. Since good players review their hands and use trackers. They need to keep the statistics in normal ranges. Else the obvious nature of the distribution becomes easily exposed. The programming is designed to make the large pots that can improve win rates or make for a short profitable session be the hands you will take bad beats on. The win rate is kept track of against your paid rake. Online poker is essentially turned into a slot machine. You are never going to win more money than your total deposits + rake paid. Any time your winnings exceed that you will lose to a bad beat to another player, most likely a losing player with a bad win rate to ensure maximum rake for the poker room. The game is designed to maximize rake and increase hands played by all players. There is no shortage of bad/losing players to dump the money too. example for easy math deposit $100 played 10000 hands and paid $25 in rake. total deposit plus rake equals $125 your win rate will never exceed 25$ profit over those 10000 hands. you can expect a lot of down swings with bad beats anytime your profit/winrate creeps close to exceeding what your total rake paid is. The cards are irrelevant. If you are a 98% favorite and are going to win a pot that will put you at a profit/winrate above your deposit + rake paid in total, you will lose. The online poker room is programmed to mimic the random nature of a deck of cards but computers can not generate truly RANDOM outcomes. Since it is programmed, it is by design done so to maximize rake. Nobody ever long term defies the programmed nature of it. Try playing only AA online. Compare the hand history against pot sizes. Watch how the big pots that would improve your win rate always seems to be the times AA gets cracked. Watch how the only time it holds is when your win rate is below your deposit plus rake paid. Lots of smaller sized pots. Over a large sample size you will see this play out. This is also where the cashout curse comes from. Once you cash out the algorithm has to adjust for your new deposit plus rake paid.

I do not trust ANY type of online games to be legit! I feel it has predetermined winners and there is no way of changing the outcome of these games... When it comes to playing cash, I only play in person vs other people.

Exactly how online poker goes for me ive never experienced beats live like in online I personally feel the sites are designed for action multiple people always get a piece to induce action therefore the rake is bigger or maxed out per hand played ive never had so many draws no matter what I call with I have a pair or a draw every time and when I have huge combo draws thats when they put me all in I'll have the world of outs and always seem to miss or they always seem to river it

Honestly hope this whole virus thing is a push for government to start legalizing online poker and make it regulated in all 50 states. I'm so torn on whether the current international sites are rigged or not. Admittedly, I play on ACR myself and I literally have to laugh at some of the runouts and how frequent bad beats happen (I tend to lose about 70% of hands where I'm all in pre-flop and I'm ahead before the flop in a heads up situation. I have actual data on this) I have played thousands of hands over time and the cards just do not seem to fall as randomly as they should. Granted, hands do play out faster and I do realize you see more hands per hour than in a live setting. But certain things that should happen almost never happen - for example, I realized I almost never see a situation like AK vs KQ, with a K on the board. In other words, I never seem to see situations where someone is just out kicked. It's almost always a case of someone may have AK with a K on the board, but the opponent will always have a set or two pair. Straight and flush draws seem to get there WAY more often than expected, particularly straight draws. There's a VERY high frequency of people turning and rivering sets, and for some odd reason they tend to call huge bets on the flop chasing that 2 outer. (Hmmmm....) Anyways, it could just all be in my head, but I definitely don't trust it and I don't invest a lot of money into playing online. It's more just for entertainment, particularly now since we can't go outside in our area.

Jeff Boski asked on Twitter if people still believe online poker is rigged. Someone posted 4 pictures how they could make it rigged without really being detected. And it basically would give weaker players an advantage over strong players so that more of their deposits get turned into rake over a longer period of time.

The poker industry is in so much trouble with this virus situation. Live players need to make money somehow for the next year, all the content creators have nothing to work with.. If this is what poker will be, a large number of people will stop playing and watching, because this is hard to win against bots and really boring to watch as content.

I quit online play when in a 30 hour period (6 hours of play), I got two royal flushes, one beating flopped quads, the other beating top boat, then later lost to a royal flush against my top boat. Lots of weird beats, not as bad as that, over hundreds of hours of play, but I figured it was just confirmation bias to think it was rigged. After the royal hands all in 6 hours of play, it's either rigged or its divine intervention.

Online isn't rigged, you just take more bad beats because you're playing way more hands. If you played hundreds of live hands per hour, you'd see the same thing.

Online poker isn't real poker... Software is handicapped so everyone gets a piece... It's more of a place where we practice shaking off beats...

I was playing online cash last night and got 4 terrible bad beats. -400 within 1 hr of play. And I honestly didn’t see that many more hands than live because people were acting so slow. My thoughts are the site bloats the pots to make more rake (obv).

i got pocket 8s the other day jammed amd someone called he had 6s thought yes he needs a six flop came down 4-5-2 thought hes got a gutshot turn came 8 id hit my set but i already knew id lost and sure enough the seven came on the river for his straight this happens every time you either suck out straight away on good cards and never hit your hand and you chips go down or you build a stack do well get a hand you cant put down and lose it all the times ive done best is when ive built up a stack and folding massive hands because of the action if i get queens or ak suited and think im not folding pre flop i bust out

I am successful sports bettor with thousands of £££ in profit. My bets now get restricted on several sites. For example I want to bet £100, but the bookmaker set a limit of £1 or something stupid like that. Bet365 and Betway closed my account recently. My point is, for a gambling company like 888, Ladbrokes, William Hill to stop a winning punter like me from winning more money. Why in the hell are these companies going to allow winning poker players??? Think about it guys... Why ANYONE plays online is a mystery to me. Proponents of online play defend the chaos by saying that there are so many more hands that you are bound to run into these situations more often. But thats just not true. One outers and coolers such as having 33 against A4 and turning a 3 on an A44 board happen WAY more often online. I just wont play there. Like ever.

There are 2 many hands i can think of that the player could not have callen and won the hand and other times you want them to call and they do and you have 74% chanse on winning on the flop, 91% on the turn and that he wins on the river with a hand that is not comprehensible... to many times. It is indeed rigged

This site is deff rigged, maybe you can call it luck but I lost both my stacks to whacky all ins. First hand I lost with AKos, the flop was ?, K, 10. The guy goes all in with AJ and gets the gutter ball Q. The second all in was when I really felt this shit is rigged. I raise with JJ and the opponent goes all in for $100+, I call and he has 55. The flop is 2, 6 , J. I flop a set and he then proceeds to get 3, 4 for a straight.

Funny, you can play online and see 5 or 6 coolers like your quad 5’s in 1 hour, even on regulated sites like pokerstarsPA, everyone complains but the best thing to do is just not play online. People that play 10/20 online are either insane or in on it. I’ve played on many different online sites and the sequence is always the same: the games seem normal and you win, once you’re up a few hundred or thousand, you will start to see cooler after cooler. There are plenty of professionals making a good living playing cash and MTTs online; however, online fish aren't spewing off 1000bb in a single hand like those Texas games. You have to be more disciplined and be content grinding out a smaller winrate online. Those $5/5 and $1/3 Texas games are equivalent in difficulty to about $.05/.10 online. $5/5 live regs will get eaten alive at modern $3/6 online in short order. Decent online regs are on a different level than good live regs, and fish are still fish regardless of the format.

Look I used to play a lot of online poker, It does feel like a different breed, and I was convinced, until now I became a live poker dealer, and let me tell ya.. It's one bad beat after another hand after hand, You go a few hands no action, and then bam, big ass 4 way all ins, suck outs galore, crazy players. Poker is poker, live or online. I now honestly think they are the same. It just feels more rigged online, probably because you can't see the cards and probably because you play more hands over time than you do live. You can also multi table online which makes it even feel more rigged. In the live room.. I see a bad beat on the river about 1 every 4 hands.

Yep online poker's fuckin dumb... I've been 1 outed more times than I can count. Iast night I got it in with the nut flush against 4,7 of spades. My hand A,K of spades. Anyways.. Flop came 3,6, 9 all spades and we got stacks all in on the flop and long story short the river came the 5s. Imfao... Talk about being 1 outed... I thought I won the hand at first and then saw the chips leaving me and going toward his stack. Needless to say the guy had ohh idk $1700 at a table where you can only buy in for 300$ max. My stack was at 430$ ish.. so he had me covered. I thought for sure I was doubling up there. WRONG!!! That hand put me on tilt lol and ended up losing another 2 buy ins after that.... Anyway if you get a chance come check out color up poker... Matt Vaughen is there as well and it's a very small website that has couple hundred users only but it's cool cause you get to play with the same people pretty much all the time...

A little perspective. When I play online poker I see 10x the number of hands in the same time period vs live poker. So what takes 1 day of online poker takes 10 days of live to see the same sample size. The reality is when you play live poker and you "think" you are a winning player you are just being fooled by randomness. It will take you 10 years of live poker to realize that your still a big fish in the game vs playing online for 1 year to realize you have leaks and you need to fix them fast. I have played live poker for 30 years and online poker for 10 years it is not rigged (with the exception of a few sites that did some cheating but they all got caught because the online poker community is much smarter and educated then live poker players) Anyone that says online is rigged is just not accepting the reality that they suck. Sorry but math never lies. If you can't beat online poker for at least 1 year you are not going to beat live poker over a large sample. Accept the reality or continue to be a donkey.

I tried Ignition Poker. What a joke. I tripled up out the gate then got crap hand after hand. I've been playing on BluffShove for a couple of months. (I started playing Holdem 3 months ago) I quickly started placing itm on the cheap tournaments, then went to crap for couple of weeks. Then yesterday, I take 3rd and I'm up 20% again. Interestingly, I seem to be allowed to make money on the cash tables, although it's not easy with guys always in there with deep stacks.

You ever notice on ACR that there’s never just 1 player with a pocket pair? Every single time there’s multiple pocket pairs! Never just one. I wish there was an honest poker site. ACR turned out to be super lame. What a scam. I could give tons of examples of bad cards but the easiest example is that every time someone has pocket pairs they aren’t alone. The site should be fixed or shut down.

What I learned from this was that his bs play that does well in Texas gets shredded when he's playing online or against halfway competent players.

ACR is definitely rigged. I had so many one out beats on the river it’s not even funny. Once in a while, mathematically it happens, but it was happening an extraordinary amount of times. Last hand I played I had AQ in position. I bet aggressively and get one call pre flop. Flop comes brick, brick, Ace. I bet 3/4 pot get called. Turn is a brick. I bet 3/4 pot and get called. River is an ace. I have trip aces with a queen kicker. All in. Get called and I lose. He had Ace 4 (seems they like that version) and one of the bricks was a four. He called a huge raise pre flop out of position with Ace/4 offsuit. No way. In a live game that doesn’t happen, and when it does that player gets punished.

When I was down and hit take I hit my cards numerous of times. Cash games I would stay away from because the site takes the money… Just play tournaments…. Or the blitz

All online poker sites deal relative to the cards being held to induce action. It's set up hands every flop. Apps like poker bros, pppoker, pokerr2, and pkc are even worse at this and you can see the patterns and call it out just like Wes did here. I never liked Acr.. Betonline, Ignition, Bovada, Intertops, Nlop, all suck. We'll never have a fair game of online poker available to us.
