Parents kindly take note of the following information for your children. Under NEP 2020, the existing School System(10+2) will now be replaced by the new School System ( 5+3+3+4). EXISTING SCHOOL SYSTEM (PRE-SCHOOL AND 10+2 ) Pre-School (Age group from 2 to 6 years ) 1.Playgroup/pre-nursery( from 2 years to 3 years) 2.Nursery( from 3 yrs to 4 yrs) 3.LKG(from 4 yrs to 5 yrs) 4.UKG(from 5 years to 6 years). On completion of 6 years of age a student enter Class 1 under 10+2 School System where 10 years of High School and 2 years of Secondary School(Arts/Science/Commerce) is followed. Now under the New School System 5+3+3+4, here are the major changes in the CLASSES AND AGE GROUP: 1.Nursery(From 3 years to 4 years) 2.KG(from 4 yrs to 5 yrs) 3.Prep(from 5 yrs to 6 yrs) 4.Class 1(from 6 yrs to 7 yrs) 5.Class 2(from 7 yrs to 8 yrs) Note: The above 5 Classes should be in ONE School System. Next Class group 1.Class 3 2.Class 4 3.Class 5 ( from 8 yrs to 11 yrs) Next Class group 1.Class 6 2.Class 7 3.Class 8 (From 11 years to 14 years) Finally, 1.Class 9 2.Class 10 3.Class 11 4.Class 12 ( From 14 years to 18 years) And thus the New NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY, 2020 aims to bring inclusive education by replacing the age old monotonous practices of choosing Arts, Science and Commerce stream after High School. Hi Madam, my kid DOB is 2 Apr 2019, but LKG admission age is 31 March 2019. We are based on Hyderabad, few schools are accepting and some of them are asking to join in pre school. If I admit my kid in LKG can cbse give permission without any issues in class 10.???
Ma'am my daughter's dob is 11 October 2020 (completed 3 yrs nd 3 mnths) and according to the NEP she's is eligible for nursery right...but the school which I have choose for her they are saying she's eligible for jr kg (school starts from April)... please tell me in which std I should have admit her

My daughter dob is 20.6.2019 she will be short of 20days according to NEP 2020 for joining class 1 in next year. She completed lkg now and when i enquired in schools they said ok to take her for UKG. This 20days difference will it have any effect on class 1 admission next year?

My son has completed his nursery and admitted in school for KG1. But new age criteria has come in which there is a difference of 14 days i.e DOB of my son is 14/4/2020 and the difference is of 14 days so that he will complete 4 years. I will be very grateful if tell me that is my son is eligible for KG1 because only for 14 days he have repeat his class nursery.
Mam my child is aug2021 born, as you said 2-3 years we can join him pre- nursery. Say I joined my lo on aug 2023 in playgroup , so by may2024 he will be moving to nursery as per preschool standards. By that time he might not complete 3 years , which is impacting on age criteria for joining 1st standard. How can I proceed in this situation..
According to NEP, in August 23, he will just be 2years only. So it's better to wait for a year and when he will be 2.9 - 2.10ish in 2023, join him directly to the playgroup then.
Hi ma'am Last Academic year 2023-24 my daughter took admission in pre nursery at that time her age was 2years 6months and school had no objection. Now they are saying that due to new education policy she has to repeat the class as her age will be 5.6years and the criteria to get in to 1st is 6years. In class of 25 kids only 4 children are been detained. This is very disheartening didi. While rest class is promoted to LKG these 4 kids are asked to go to nursery. Plz suggest. If the school knew that this will happen then why did they enrolled my daughter at 2.6 years

Hi my child went to play school for 8 months. Now age of child is 3.2. According to NEP 20 or 23 in which standard my child should be admit. I am also confused some schools are ready to take child in pre nursery while someother schools are taking child in nursery standard.

Means he is 2+ in June/April. Then he is eligible only for pre nursery or playgroup. Next year he will go to nursery. Anyhow pls check with school of your area as well
4.6y is eligible for LKG according to NEP . This year nov she will turn 5, which means she will go to ukg in 2024, then by 2025 admissions to 1st will be granted as she will be 6
