A classic song from Walt Disney's "An Extremely Goofy Movie Dance Party!," performed by Cleopatra. The song was originally written by Pierre Tubbs and J. Vincent Edwards, and performed by Maxine Nightingale.
isnt it weird how in 2000 they combined goofy max the x games animal house poetry hipster stuff disco 70's music?..no just me?..k….and both pj and bobby in their underwear was something I did not need to see
Max: Congratulations, Dad. Here. Goofy: Gorsh, son. What's this? Max: Well, you gotta open it to find out. (Goofy opens the gift revealing Max's trophy) Goofy: But... This is yours. Max: No, Dad. This is for you. Read the inscription. Goofy: "I might not be your little boy anymore, but I'll always be your son."
alice No one is excluding you. She’s just throwing a shout out to all of us who were born and remember the last good decade before everything: music, television, clothes, hair, the media and society as a whole was shot to Hell in a jet! Chill.
Swear I just started my night shift and remembered this song randomly (I’m 27yrsold) and listened to it and I’ve never had to hold back my tears from feeling so happy n sad that I got it experience this and now so much time has passed and it still gives me the same feeling I got as a kid first time watching this movie. 🥹🤘🏻 this is my childhood and this version is so much more energetic than the original but also so nostalgic that it hurts me in a good way when I listen to it reminding me of what once was and how great that time/era was. 🙏🏻 I miss the 90s/2000s but I’m elated I got to enjoy them as well so fully.
haha, looks like the sheep get herded..... Excited for caffeine addiction, alcoholism, dreams with out goals and pure hierarchy of social ques dated back over 60 years ago. College in 1950-80 was Great for people, now its washed out, over produced and pure cash grabs for the "schools" Hope that degrees worth it lol

This quite possibly might be the greatest cover ever recorded. Disney/Cleopatra took an already good dance song and elevated it to an extraordinary level.
So true! She could out sing ANY “Disney” Star of today; and any of the B.S. “entertainers” of today polluting the airways. This is the baddest cover I’ve EVER heard! Cleopatra was on fire and bad to the BONE! That girl HAD it!
This movie relates so much to me and my father, except he didn't get fired and had to go back to college to get hired at another job. BUUUUT, the fact that I left home to go to college and my father trying to be there for me as much as he can, makes my heart melt. Plus, when I was little, I watched this movie with my father. So it hits me hard haha.
I really feel you bro. I used to watch this movie when I was a child and College seemed like a very far situation. When I was 9 my mom went to College, and she graduated when I was 13. Now I'm 21, at College, and this is so mad, because it seems that just yesterday I was a little kid without worries about life.
This movie to me is the last Goofy story. Don’t get me wrong, hundreds have been made since and will continue to. But this to me will always be the one you put at the end. Him driving into the sunset, with his newfound love, and a bop playing.
listening to the original makes me appreciate this one more. not that there's anything wrong with the original, this one just makes more sense disco wise and has so much energy
I never owned it, I think I might have saw it before on Disney Channel, it was probably one of the movies I watched when I was recovering from my brain tumor surgery in 2005.
22 years old and I was extremely excited this movie was on Netflix. It's amazing that Goofy is the only Disney character that can have a realistic story yet still keep his charm.
especially at the end here where Max has that look of finally understanding his father and what makes him special as he sees him drive off with his new girlfriend to live his own life in how he says "he is sooo goofy". the way he says that really shows that appreciation and love for his dad sunk in finally.
[Verse 1] Do you remember the day (That sunny day) When you first came my way I said, no one could take your place And if you get hurt (If you get hurt) By the little things I say I can put that smile back on your face [Chorus] Ooh, and it's alright and it's coming on We gotta get it right back to where we started from Love is good, love can be strong We gotta get it right back to where we started from (Oh oh oooh oooh ooh) [Verse 2] A love like ours (A love like ours) Can never fade away You know it's only just begun You gave me your love (Gave me your love) I just can't stay away, no, no I know you are the only one [Chorus] Ooh, and it's alright and it's coming on We gotta get it right back to where we started from Love is good, love can be strong We gotta get it right back to where we started from (Oh oh oooh oooh ooh) [Bridge] You gave me your love (gave me your love) I just can't stay away, no I know you are the only one [ Outro] Ooh, an it's alright and it's coming on We gotta get it right back to where we started from Love is good, love can be strong We gotta get it right back to where we started from Alright and it's coming on We gotta get it right back to where we started from Love is good, love can be strong We gotta get it right back to where we started from Alright and it's coming on We gotta get it right back to where we started from Love is good, love can be strong We gotta get it right back to where we started from It's alright and it's coming on
Another great song where the update is better is Jennifer Saunders singing "I Need a Hero" from "Shrek 2" that one is a million times better than Bonnie's and Shrek 2 is better than the first film!!!
I knew watching this over and over as a kid that one day I'd be graduating from college, and on that day I would be thinking of this song. Well I worked my but off like Goofy did and here I am, Class Of 2019. Life is pretty crazy sometimes, there's a whole bunch of pieces that make up the whole picture, and while it often seems the pieces are outta sorts, sometimes they all fit right where they need to be. 😊☺️
Ah, the memories this song brings, and the nostalgia with it. I remember watching this as a kid and just appreciating it as a great movie, but only once I became an adult did I realize just how sentimental it would become. The 90's tv show was there for a lot of kids, but the movie, in a sense, came around and said one final goodbye to it's viewers and to the 90's.
I remember that I loved this song so much because of this movie I asked for the soundtrack for Christmas when I was around 6 or 7 and I still have it along with the film on VHS!! I am 23 and still love this version of the song!!
Writing my own mental headspace based song-seriously heavy, and just thinking of this song the whole time. Sweet happy memories and sweet playback fun.
The nostalgia . My brothers 4th grade teacher gave him the vhs tape on the last day of school and brought him home . It was summer vacation. i was 8 years old that year & my grandmother watched it with us. unfortunately my grandmother passed away that same summer . song reminds me of my beautiful angel. 8.21.08✨.
I am from Mexico and as part of the generation of 2006, this brings back good memories even though I am not from the 90s, this song makes you feel alive, and makes you want to be dancing with max and goofy!!! 😂
Cleopatra could out sing ANY “Disney” Star of today; and any of the B.S. “entertainers” of today polluting the airways. This is the baddest cover I’ve EVER heard! Cleopatra was on fire and bad to the BONE! That girl HAD it! This should have won a Grammy!
Man this takes me back. This song was just perfect at the end. And u couldn't help but jam to the lyrics. These ladies sung the hell out this song❤. Now I'm married and this song reminds me of my husband
I watched this movie before each time I started a new trimester in Senior highschool and especially when I started University. :') During my undergrads years, I was feeling like Max Goof when I studied. :') I liked this movie and I have the VHS since I was 5 years old. Remind me a best part of my childhood.
I watched this movie the very last night of college before my last final and the final time I’d be moving out of a dorm. I laughed at how different my college experience was from Max’s, at all the adventures I’d had, the girls I’d talked to, the hard times, and the times I’d miss my family. But then, at the end, I was happy because I’d really done it. I’d really finished college, and it was alright.
