I feel sorry for y'all who are too young not to grow up with this kind of music. I bet you would like Dusty Springfield's "Son of a Preacher Man" also. She was greatly influenced by black female singers of the 60s as well. She doesn't sound British at all. Her song "You don't have to say you love me" is one of my favorites as well.
