Hi Nigel. I have the Mk.II version of this in my stash. Does look like a tiny handful doesn't it. These were steered by moving the inner suspension units latterally, basically bending the tracks into an arc. Sounds mad but it obviously worked. If I'm not mistaken this was actually the most produced vehicle of the era.

Think the spring is just for detail instead of an injection moulded one, lots of breakable parts but looks to be a really nice kit. I would guess they give you the option to use after market working track. May have pushed the cost up for them and retail price to do them themselves. Loved the old Tamiya kit, built many.

Build it?my missis had to cling to my legs to stop me climbing my back fence onto the railway line after i looked at the instructions!....i wasnt long back modelling when i built it.Mine had none of the 'birdcage' looking contraption's the Vickers variant has.The pe for mine,the mkIi,was basic folds all round.Nothing like dragons tool clamp's.The suspension i glued up had metal pins and ferrel's,wheels held straight by track.They sell track's but maybe for converting tamiya kit.Not sure if 'working.The build is simplified by the fact its like mechanics,everything is there.Mine had V8 inside the centre box.The versions of this kit are all quite different,the airborne variant(with little motorbike) has PE superstructure.Check out the woodgrain on pickaxe handles,thats bloody mental.I used all PE,the towchain was a royal....but for the money,they cant be beaten.cheers for listening.

This is my next build after the Bronco A34 Comet tank. That little box weighs about as much as the Comet kit did.

I'm building the mk1 just now I'm confused on the suspension! I'm using the rods and PE but on the real thing it's all one sized springs and it's telling you to put the wide one over the smaller one but that's not correct is it? How did you do it? I've just watched David fletchers wee video on it the steering was used by the axel running under the UC passes outward enough for the track to bend and it proved to be a great steering he was saying and they also smashed the exhausts on the bottom with them rallying the thing about over things haha

That's not tiny photoetch. The Bronco 17pdr anti-tank gun has some LUDICROUSLY small PE that you still need to bend, and even moulded parts, such as a single butterfly nut. In 1/35, you need good eyes just to _see_ that, let alone manipulate it.
