Over 115 Rileys, some vintage, others later post-war classics, make up this upload to the Old Classic Car channel. Riley cars have featured in our own family's motoring past, dad having owned a One-Point-Five saloon and a pair of RMs (one saloon, the other a Roadster) back in the 1960s, and these models - along with many others - are included.
Many pre-war cars are incorporated into this collection, including 9hp Monacos, 12/4s, Sprites and Kestrels, and a multitude of VSCC-elligible racers and specials, as are products of the post-war era including the successful RM series, and those based around the BMC Mini (the Riley Elf), and the Riley Kestrel (part of the ADO16 Austin/Morris range). Less commonly-seen models include the Two-Point-Six and the earlier Pathfinder, neither of which were particularly successful, are here and are both a rare sight today.
Sadly the Riley car name has long since been consigned to the history books and is unlikely to return. Hopefully this compilation will act as a reminder of the many stylish and well-engineered cars they built over a long period of time.
Lots of vintage and classic British cars feature across this classic cars channel now, so please have a virtual walk around before disappearing, and consider subscribing if cars of this type are of interest.
