Wow Mate Rimac is such a Cool ,down to Earth guy . He is only 33 years old and already owns 2 of the most exiting car company's in the world . Much respect !!!

@@Mr11ESSE111 Same as it is With Porsche GT3 RS to the Bugatti (Still people buy Bugatti and Porsche) --- Moral of the story: "Every car has its customer" ;)
@@Ivan-sh2xd porsche sells around 250000 vehicles buggati 50-100 yearly if that !! Why Porsche didn't give him shares of Porsche!? 1% of Porsche worth several times more then 55% of Buggati shares and Buggati are not so great in financially situation so
Rimac will definitely keep the Bugatti heritage and Bugatti's won't be pure EV's for a long time, but most likely combine their insane engines with hybrid systems to make them even faster. Imagine something like a Chiron with a W16 engine and 1500hp PLUS a couple of electric motors. Rimac is a huge petrolhead and owns many ICE cars himself, like the BMW M5 CS and a Ferrari SF90, so he's not gonna ruin Bugatti's by turning them full electric, that's gonna be Rimac Automobili's thing, Bugatti will stay a separate thing.
@@Scott-px6mi the current timeline for end of ICE production is not feasible. They will keep pushing back the dates. The infrastructure is not there for most of the world. It saying it won’t happen. Just that the current timeline push isn’t feasible.
The most important thing of all are Mate Rimac words at presentation in Dubrovnik: "We already have the model of new Bugatti prepared for this take over". So Rimac has a new Bugatti model which was probably the main reason of moving Bugatti to Croatia now. Exciting times!
@@cryptotrader8193 I mean in the future... now Porsche has the control of both. they gave Rimac 55% for R&D purposes, after that is done Porsche or VW will buy out Rimac for good.
The new Buggati is in progres in Rimac house he say on Croatian TV so exsiting news man Mate is genius he started from his garage look him now wow. Mate I am so proud of you as I am Croatian to :)
My guess is that because they are a car group now, the emissions balance out. This allows Bugatti to make whatever gas powered car they want to without worrying about EPA standards or paying any fines. This is the case with Alfa Romeo and Tesla - they signed an agreement that combined their carbon emission ratings allowing Alfa to make any car with any engine. (You can find this information on RU-vid) But, I do expect some collabs as well! An EV or Hybrid Bugatti would be surreal.
Emissions? Good catch Legato. Sounds like a great motive. Perhaps there is more: new, European charging standards, counterbalance to Tesla, cheaper and legal technology exchange between Rimac and Bugatti...
I mean it’s not rocket science; Eventually they’re going to have to go electric and Rimac has the architecture to give it the high powered prestige that it needs.
Mate Rimac is also a huge fan of Bugatti, so he will keep the otto motor inside of Bugatti as long as possible. Only maybe he will pusch the HP up, with his smart electromotors (hybrid-systems). So the next generation of Bugatti coul have enormes power...even more than the current models already have. He is a humble, but also a crazy guy 😁Unfortunately, at least in europe, after 2030- 2035 all new produced cars must hawe some kind of 100 % electro- motor, no more gas- engines 😕
Rimac owner already expressed his love for gasoline powered vehicles. He will most likely build a crazy fast hybrid that will be unmatched by even the mighty Koenigsegg Jesko
@@AP-qs2zf electric cars are just weight. And it’s a multi million dollar car. Complexity shouldn’t be a issue for how much someone is paying for one. It wouldn’t be any different from the mclaren p1 or the Porsche 918
The Math is not matching porche own 24% of rimac so from that 55 its almost 13.5% and porsche own the remaing 45 that means porche own bugatti in 58.5~
I thought that each company will still make their respective cars and now make a new car. Fast Forward ten years from now. Rimac will simply be Bugatti, whole own by VW. Which is owned by Porsche which has some "shares" of Rimac.
They will still make separate cars, they're separate companies. Bugatti-Rimac group is just a group, but Rimac and Bugatti are separate brands. It's just that Rimac has control of majority of both of them, followed by Porsche. It's not a bad trio to be a part of. Rimac will NEVER be Bugatti, let alone owned by VW, or owned by anyone else. They stated that very clearly and will never give up being their own thing.
Main reason that VW gave this the green light because they want more efficient and cheaper ways to produce cars. Rimac makes most of their parts in-house which a way better way to produce things. The parts will be produced in Croatia and shipped to France to be assembled. Rimac will have 3 different businesses Rimac, Rimac-Bugatti and 3rd Rimac for software. Bugatti was losing money for VW mostly do to old ways of producing cars this is the new way Rimac and Tesla are the ways of the future!
Hybrid Bugatti, let's go!!! This shit is heavy already, a few batteries in it won't hurt, Don't all EV it 😭, not a massive Bugatti fanboy, but man for the culture, don't What could be the numbers we'd be looking at Like what 2500+ BHP? with a hybrid... Maybe
@@Michael-tm6vs To be the controlling shareholder you must have the most shares per holder. Thus Mate remains the owner of Rimac since he has the largest share. He also owns Bugatti by this same metric and so we have Rimac Bugatii. I don't think VW heads want to be waisting resources on constantly having to micromanage these huge companies that need to keep innovating and fighting for the top spot of the car world.
I think they are trying to make some balance against Tesla. Like make the European version of it. There is so much more behind this we could never imagine. Even Rimac can't possibly know all the plans. Specially when it comes to infrastructure. Europe is almost overrun with Tesla charging stations and charging standards. If Porsche, Bugatti and Rimac team up with something more appropriate for european standards- Europe stands a chance to push back. Smart people will learn from mobile charges saga. And that is just to scratch the surface...
i dont think i would like a ev bugatti, but a hybrid one would be perfect, imagine a w16 for the final speed with eletric motors for the acceleration lol (i know they probably wont use the w16 anymore, but think how crazy it would be)
Mate Rimac still owns 37% of Rimac, Porsche only owns 24. Also mate confirmed that Bugatti won't switch directly to EV. They go to hybrid first sapere established manufacturers are doing.
in fact Porsche have control packet in Volkswagen Porsche owns Volkswagen Volkswagen owns Audi, Škoda and Seat, Lamborghini, Ducati the entire group will use Rimac technology and add to that Hyundai as the second owner in Rimac
That W16 ain't a fun engine. Sure it's an engineering masterpiece. But it lacks the drama in both sound and power delivery. It's designed to be smooth and elegant not fun. Rimac will help Bugatti fix this problem
It's good buggati needs to be controlled by someone who will make good investment to keep them at the top . Obviously they are all still under VW but now VW can focus on there electric cars .
