You can really see everything coming along ~ also the drone shots show the layout of the future patio(s) front, back and side yards. I'm going to do my best to spread the word about your channel and get more people to follow you guys, not only here but also on Instagram, too! I can see where Guffy does what the piggy's do. He gets all wet and then rolls in the dirt to protect his skin from burning just like the piggy's. I hope all of your efforts to secure the ends and sides from blowing out when you pour works. Just looking at the current set up, makes your future home is starting to show how it will be when you are done. It is going to be so lovely! Your hard work will be rewarded. Yes take your break so that you can get refreshed. It has been so hot in Portugal - it takes more time and energy to do anything! But I know that you are wanting to get the roof covered before the rainy season and cold weather arrives. But you are doing an amazing job!

Have no worries. The wood forms are not High enough for cement weight to blowout. The thredded rods will work fine. And remember fill the forms a few inches at a time to allow it to get stiff, move a few meters , then come back and fill a little more, do that and that gives it time to set before topping off. Too much cement all at once is how blowouts happen. Its gonna look so good. your prep is perfect👍👍Be blessed , from Idaho 🙏🙏🤙🤙🔧🛠️🔨🔧🛠️🔨Romans 10 :9-10

I should think you’ve had enough of bending rebar! You seem to have been doing it for weeks! Looking forward to the next step of actually pouring the ring beam! It’s a good job Guffy likes water, for a white dog he certainly likes to roll in the dirt, who knew playing with a rock could be such fun! I see the garden is still producing at a phenomenal rate! Hi Guys nice to watch yoir show. Andrea's if you put some plastic conducted pipe over the threaded rods it will allow you to remove them once the concrete has set and you remove the forms. Otherwise you need to cut off all the ends once you strip the forms. It will also make it easier to strip forms if the threaded rod is not there. The remaining holes you can plug with silicon before finishing the stone work. Mearly a suggestion. Take care. Kind regards Peter

I will leave them in place, and won’t be cutting them, they will work as a great support when we start covering roof beam with small stones from outside and inside of the building 👍😁

Great video! Your forms should be fine, they aren't very tall and adding the threaded rod will help a lot. Hand mixing allows to pour at a slower pace so it has a chance to set before filling to the top. I worked with a guy that was very fast at tying rebar. As a lefty he had linemen pliers in his left, a roll of wire in his right slipping the loose end past the tie location, grab the end with piers pull it back up crossing the other wire, twist and cut off with one more half twist. He could do several per minute. Good luck, looking forward to seeing the pour.

Hi guys. If are going to use a timber wall plate on the concrete ring beam. For the roof rafters. It may be a good idea to put a few of the threaded bar upright on the wall when you concrete the ring beam let the threaded bar stick up above the finished level so when you put the timber wall plate on all you have to do is drill holes and drop it over the threaded bar and bolt it down.

Use electricwire pipes ( the stiff pipes for when you want to mount electric wiring against the wall, not the flexible one) to put the 8mm rods through. You will be able to reuse the rods and the pipes will act as distance holders for both sides of the casings. That will help prevent your casings to warp too much. Make sure the pipes are all the same perfect cut lenght so no cementjuice kreeps in too much. When the concrete is set you can remove the rods and have holes with the pipes still inside. you can fill those up later with some concrete or foam. You can also use them later to send electric wire through your wall for outdoor lighting or whatever.

To prevent your casings to slide away ( cause now they are pretty much floating on your wall ) you can drill holes verticaly right next to the outside of your casings and hammer some rebarb in it so the casing cant move horizontaly. You can use your 8mm rods the same way to keep your casing down at the same time as fixing your casing horizontally. I know you plan to use straps but you dont have windows and doors everywhere... Later you can remove the vertical rebarb and rots by drilling right next to them and janking them out.

I know you have said that you work early morning before the sun gets too hot, but given how early the sun rises in Portugal what would be the average start time of a days work for you? Hey Scott :) we usually get up 6am and then start work at 7 ... well we aiming to start at 7 .. not always happens so we will work in a sun a bit more than we should ... we go to bet about 11 -12 because after hot day it's nice to be outside and we have a siesta during the day ... Winter is better you go to bet at 10 and wake up at 8 LOL

Make sure the top side of your gables match up with the top side of your outer ringbeam, other wise you gonna be in a world of hurt to place a roof on it later unless you want to start drilling wooden beams ontop of those gables to match them to the ringbeam...

too bad the worst thing anyone can do is use sun block on their skin so they can't sweat and let all the crap from the sun block get into your pours. stop the misinformation nonsense, sun is great for you, all depending how you use it, your skin will adapt to it eventually. Never in my life I ever used suntan lotions on my body and I'm doing well, what causes skin cancer is the crap inside those bottles that seep into your pours, fact.

When you fix the rebarb togetter make sure you really tighten the bindingwire. otherwise things start moving and you might end up with rebarb showing on the outside of the concrete when you remove the casing. You dont want that cause it will rust very fast and it will also show brown runoff stains on your walls that are unremovable. Another thing i dont see you using is small concrete blocks that keep your rebarb up from your allready excisting wall. Dont let your rebarb rest on your walls directly when you poor the concrete or it will rust and give you all sorts of problems later on.

Admirable work. But let me ask you. Are you going to cover the concrete with the stones to blend it with the walls? If so, the OSB formwork was unnecessary. I would build the wall extensions with flat thin stones leaving enough space between to put the rebars and concrete. If necessary, reinforced by some wire. And I would build a ramp out of some boards for Guffy to get out of the pool :)

Thank you :) Yes we will cover all with stones :) and we chosen to do with concrete so as we think it will tie everything a bit better if we would of done it with stones .. if you know what I mean .. we just love doing it extra hard way ;) and we might do some steps later on for guffy !!! it would be nice even for me to get in (G) but then Guffy would be there all day long if we would do steps from outside as well :) :)

Hello :) we won't have door between kitchen and bedroom .. just so we would have more wall space on both sides :) Gxx

in the main room - house we will put log burner BIG bed and coffee table and maybe a chair ... nothing else In the terrace we want to put big nice long tables so we can host pasties there !!! .. we will use big water tank for other projects

Hello !!!! I just don't have time .. garden .. building the house ... and then it's so hot during the day .. BUT I will be back and running when I will have my kitchen and proper set up !! I will be on fire then ;) I will come back stronger and better !!! Gxxx
