Here comes another great set, captured from up-front, thus enabled to get good sound and picture quality. The theme RING DEM BELLS - DUKE ELLINGTON 1929-31 @ Mike Durham's International Classic Jazz Party, Whitley Bay, UK, November 4th, 2023. The encore will be posted as a separate clip. Quoted from the Programme: "Mauro Porro leads this session of Ellington 'killers' from the period when he was resident at the Cotton Club, using the late Keith Nichols' and Claus Jacobi's arrangements. Possibly my all time favourite jazz classic. The World is Waiting for the Sunrise is a close second and Just a Closer walk with thee as per New Orleans marching band is third. Everything else is fourth! I was a member of Jazzshows Jazz Club at 100 Oxford Street when I was fourteen, sixty-three years ago!

Hi Roger Whittle, Thanks for your extended comment! These dedicated musicians have been waiting a year to perform at this special set, you can see their enthusiasm in their eyes, faces and body postures and unwavering artistery. We have to thank everyone for letting us shoot this close thus adding their expressions in full view. Félix Hunot was sitting behind David Horniblow and Graham Hughes was sitting too far away. Hope the musicians get to see their great work. The encore, MOOD INDIGO, will be posted pretty soon.
