Could you imagine jogging around the breath of the wild world?! That would be beautiful. That would be cool off they made a mini game with that games world and you use the ring con to shoot arrows or something. Like links crossbow training for the Wii.
This man reviewed a game in a gym with a professional trainer. Not even taking into account how impressed I am you shot the video at all knowing you arent in the best shape which is quite admirable in my book, the review was great. I respect you Mr Austin John. Breakin barriers out here.
As cheap and good of a product it is, it only covers basic exercises that everyone can just look up om the internet at any time. However, when you are training with weights or with a difficult technique, a personal trainer is a must. Don’t worry, his job is pretty safe.
Panda Productions personal trainers are kinda bullshit though you’re better off searching on RU-vid for literally ANYTHING fitness related there’s good people on here trust me
Getting the opinion of a professional trainer is actually really smart and helpful. I had seen videos of other people being really impressed with the game and how much it makes you sweat. This just confirms that the game is much better than it appears, and it does appear to be quite silly. Gonna have to load this thing up for Christmas.
said I bought the game not long after making this comment and I can confirm that it does offer nutrition advice in the game. It’s not in your face about it, as the main focus is exercise, but the info is within the game.
As a fitness professional as well as an avid gamer I feel that this game is pretty great! The fact that the boss level is a harder workout makes so much sense.
As a stay at home mom who finds it difficult to drag three young kids to the gym, this game is amazing for me. It allows me to get good cardio at home among other exercises, without large gym equipment. Also, the game occupies my mind with continued shifting activities, helping to keep me from getting bored and loosing motivation.
@ghostly No I CAN'T. He works nights and sleeps during the day. You basically just assumed that our schedule allows for it and my husband just doesn't want to hang out with our kids. I mean yeah if we want to have zero time with the family or even less sleep than I get now, I could go between 6-11pm sometime when he's home and not asleep. Then I wouldn't be home for the family dinner I just finished cooking or I wouldn't be there when we all read together or to hug the kids before bed or I'd miss the only time I actually get to hang out alone with my husband who btw I actually kinda like and enjoy his company. So No I CAN'T just go when he's home to "look after them" I'd be giving up to much to be gone for 2hrs (drive time and workout time) during that time of day.
I know it’s been a year, and I’m not sure if this would work for your family, but I’d suggest looking for a gym that also offers classes for kids. That way you can get your workout in while they’re off playing
@@inamib.9786 Naw I lost 35lbs and got my cholesterol into a healthy range just by doing ring fit and going on family walks. No need to pay for a gym membership 😊
@@cssruth, I am in the same boat as you. My husband works thirds and I'm a SAHM too. Some people don't get it unfortunately. The fact that you've lost 35 pounds using this gives me so much inspiration and makes me want one even more!
The most fun part of watching Ring Fit Adventure reviews for me is seeing the shock at how much everyone underestimates the workouts based on their experiences with Wii Fit/Sports/etc. As soon as I heard jogging in place was involved I knew it was going to be tough.
Two things I learned today: 1) This game is really, really good and I should probably get it eventually 2) Your personal trainer is annoyingly hot. Keep that man off the camera
@@laineyyz I lost 30 pounds! Of course not just because of the game I do alot of other workouts as well but the game is my fav and I play anytime I’m free :) if you are wondering I do some Chloe ring workouts in the morning through mid day like afternoon or mid morning I play the game when I have time in the evening I go for a short run/walk and biking some days I also play badminton. No dieting eating clean still though (This transformation took place in 2 months)
Man. For real. I can't express enough how much this video helped me, impressed me, the care that you took explaining your experience, what the game offered and so on. Thank you so much for the awesome video that you posted. I'm really gratefull. I'm just a Brazilian that workout A LOT and love to study the nuances of exercises and such, and a friend of mine that actually needs help asked me "Please, take a look at this game and see if it can help me". I was able to do a 2 page review for him with pointers, tips and things to be careful with, and that was because of this amazing piece of work that you just posted, honestly. Thank you so much again. You will never know how much I appreciate it 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I love that Austin isn't afraid to show us the real Austin. In a world where people constantly feel the need to only show impossible perfection, this video is pure gold. I feel inspired and empowered. YOU ARE A BOSS.
Thank you for making this! I’ve been contemplating this as it looked really cool but wasn’t sure if it would actually be any good. Loving it. As someone who is physically unable to leave the house at the moment, this is great!
I got this game for my birthday last year. After a week, I was perplexed that my abdomen was hurting in a way it should not have been (I'm terribly out of shape and had it on the easiest setting). Had a lightbulb moment and found out I was pregnant! So, of course, I had to stop using it. It would be awesome if there was an "I'm pregnant" mode without ab guard, but there isn't. I let someone borrow it for the remainder of my pregnancy and early postpartum so the kids would stop asking me if they could play. I've recently decided to try to pick it up again, but my kids love this game! They require supervision and lots of posture help. I haven't been able to start using it myself yet because I'm letting the kids do it, and helping them is exhausting. I just really wish they had a child sized ring and adjusted the exercises available for the little ones. There are so many that my 5 year old can't do without assistance (because the ring is too big and heavy and some exercises require a finesse the 5 year old can't master). He sure is getting stronger though!!! That kid spends over an hour everyday using this (I won't let him play much more than an hour) and my very tiny boy can do so much that he could not before. He used to need help squeezing the ring hard enough to progress to the next part of the dialog, but after only two or three weeks, he can do all the squeezing throughout the game himself! His only real issue now is posture and holding that heavy (for him) ring at arms length for some of the exercises.
good idea getting your actual human fitness coach involved. was cool to see a professional say that this is a good workout tool. not the be all end all, humans still win that battle, but a good option none the less :D
Austin, thank you so much for taking the ring fit to a trainer and a gym to get a professional’s review on this game. I was on the fence about the ring fit, because of the wii fit. But this, with your trainers sort of endorsement. I think this will be worth getting. Thank you, always love you informative videos.😘
As someone who went from obese to average to fit and learned how to meal prep, macro count and am now a certified personal trainer myself... I agree with this assesment. This will never replace a gym or trainers/nutritionists, but this is actually a very nice way to get started into fitness or a fun way to work in a bit of light cardio for long time gym goers. It teaches the importance of posture and form, it emphasizes time under tension, it handles overtraining and muscle fatigue. All while keeping you distracted.....(just for the record hardly anyone likes cardio. Trainers included...we just know how important it is lol) A few criticism I do have though are... #1 that it doesn't explain why (or at least he didn't show them explain why) the cooldown on workouts exists. Thats a really nice peice of info to have going into fitness. #2 due to its nature it doesn't prevent cheat modifications ( for example using your elbows during the grounded crunch) these "modifiers" are ok as beginner concepts, but they hinder the effectiveness of the exercise in question and should eventually be moved past. #3 though they show proper form. There's not structure to the workouts. For example most gym goers follow strict structures of training. There's 100s of different structures out there, but a structure is always implamented. It would have been nice if they made some sort of structure to what body part you might hit on a level to level basis, but for beginners this isn't exactly extremely necessary from the jump. The avid gym goer isnt the type of person this game is targeting. Which is why even though this IS a criticism. It's not a big one at all. over all though it's a pretty solid jump off point for people very new to fitness, but eventually game or not. Always transition yourself into a gym or get a coach.
Well only the story mode was shown here. There are exercises available for different body parts, minigames depending on body parts and the ability to actually create your own routine setting, too. YOu can also train with the ring without the game, too. You just need the joy con attached on the ring.
Omg his personal trainer when he defeated Dragaux looked like a little kid watching a movie, I couldnt stop smiling he is also so cool for being in the vid.
Thank you for this video. I have considered getting this and though I know it’s no membership to the gym I am interested in combining this with my usual workout regimen. Thank you for doing this video.
I was actually excited about it because I’m not the type of guys who goes to the gym. And now I’m so sure I’m getting the ring fit. Thaaaaaanks for the review, it was all I need to get it. And again you’re THE BEST
Be carefull with playing it the first time. i made the mistake to play some minigames before the story mode and had the worst muscle sore of my life next day.
Traps Aren’t Gay I recently took my switch to the gym and played smash (split joy cons) on the treadmill at a moderate jog pace. It was so much more intense!
Thank you, I too am in the belief system of "you only run if something is chasing you", loved this review and really appreciate you putting it out there for those of us who maybe a bit shy in trying new things
The fact that it acually works & gives you a visible reason why you are doing the exercise is important for people for me who lack the motivation to do sport "just" to be healthier as its not really a motivation, but playing a game? Beat a boss? Have fun and work to finish a level? Sign me up!
I'm an over the road trucker, carrying freight over the 48 states, and seriously thinking of getting this now. It's really hard to keep in shape when all you have available is truck stop food (hotdogs or which ever chain fast food joint is there) available. I think its gonna be great, just gotta get over the awkwardness of others seeing
Thank you for this great review! I just bought the game and played the first 4 levels and it really pushed me a lot further, than I would've ever pushed myself without any motivation factor besides my head. This game helps me a lot to just find the motivation to push yself beyond my comfort zone and breaking a sweat while having fun doing this. It's nice to hear from a professional, that this game really has effective, useful and good exercises!
I got this game and the ring for 30 dollars at a thrift shop. I had no previous plans to get it. It is now my favourite switch game. With 3 kids at home, I cannot have time to go anywhere to exercise or do much, so this is perfect. My children love it too. My 9 year old is now really into fitness.
I ended up getting this and I think it's pretty cool. Anything to trick you into working out is good, I get bored of the gym very easily and I agree with your sentiment on running. Looking at it as an RPG won't score many points, but I think its mechanics as an RPG work well enough and it feels like an engaging exercise game. Mixed with Fitness Boxing and Arms I like there's more fitness stuff coming out for the Switch. I hope other games in future utilise the ring. Like a fitness port of Final Fantasy Mobius would be interesting (and might actually make Mobius interesting), the game is already on rails and follows a somewhat similar format but as a mobile app. It could be interesting to have an RPG that better embraces the RPG elements to disguise the fitness aspect more or other types of games too.
Hi John, thank you for having a professional trainer to talk about this, and share your view on the game. I never join a gym program before, but I'm challenging myself to work out(play the game) for 30 min(workout time) everyday now(and put it on youtube). Really looking forward to finish the game, and see how the game changes me.
When you have a console that not only makes their games flex on others, but making the customers flex on them too - Nintendo, a true Columbus of Gaming Companies.
I hope in 20 years there will be tournaments between schools and universities and outside school for different games with VR or AR in stadiums viewed online and live. From Yu Gi Ohs, Avatar and mobile legends that uses whole body with different resistance and more accurate attachments to many body parts To accurately detect limbs for proper forms and you elevation 9f jumps from floor and location of your hands when spiking or punching and attacks like kicks. CYBER OLYMPICS/TOURNAMENTS. I hope PE's in schools are like this too. team players can also fight an AR monster/s in stadium and it attacks them like in mobile legends with life bars. AR glasses may help too to level up volleyballs and other common games in different set ups/dimensions or game dynamics.
This game got me into fitness, I never finished it, but eventually through consistent training I lost close to 30 kilos and am now on my way to gaining them back…..in muscle form!
Thank you so much for making this video. I've been playing the game a while ago and want to get back to it. I definitely was curious to see how the game would stand out against a professionals critique because I tend to hurt myself when I'm working out. Glad to hear that it's just me and not the game 😁 maybe one day I'll be able to get through a workout without my knees, hips or feet hurting 😵😅
Speaking of cheesing it though, you can easily glitch/cheese some of the exercises. The one where you're seated, arms behind you and bringing your legs up, you don't even need to lift your legs up off the ground. I bought the Ring Fit a few days ago, definitely enjoying it, and it is helping me do a more varied arrange of exercises. I own my own Exercise Bike, and I do about 2 hours of walking a day (lost about 12 kg in the last 6 weeks) but yeah, typical issues where you have issues tracking with it and such
Wow that’s awesome. Gonna check out a few of your vids. I notice there’s more and more exercises as you progress. Looks like the kick in the butt I need.
Thanks Austin John Plays, we started selling these at my work last week and a bunch of the staff have laughed at the idea. Your review shows the proper intention of this; that it’s for gamers, not the people at work who play football or basketball and are already fit. I might show this video in our morning meeting to give them a different perspective. This was really helpful, thank you.
14:30 good points about the cooldown not leading to overtraining. I saw joycons on sale so I'm thinking of a fitness bit between this and ultra street fighter 2 way of the hado. Arms and Mario and sonic olympics also got motion controls too.
I have to say I'm highly impressed with the review of the game n production of the video. :) i came through recomendations n glad it got recommended to me n gained a new sub.
I might actually pick this up. I never have any incentive to exercise so making it fun like this should keep me active. And with how quarentine is atm I cant go to a gym.
I'm a 5'6 23 year old guy that doesn't do much exercise and i been wanting to but with the whole covid19 and the lock down there's no much i can do in my area at the moment, and i'm weighing 266lbs which is overweight for me, you with this video Austin seeing you have convinced me and motivated me into getting this game, i just bought it on Amazon 💖🔥
40 min, Jesus, I just started my adventure and got through the 1st chapter in around 11 minutes or so and was drained, from the way I can see I'll try to do 1 chapter a day depending on how long and intense they are. Also can I say I was on like beginner because I never exercise, like literally ever
I made the mistake and played the minigames first. So yeah didn't got further either. ANd got the worst muscle sore. That is when you underestimate stuff.
Omg Austin I love your channel. Every single time I find a new game I'm even vaguely interested in, chances are you've done a review or made some kind of video about it. 💖
