They performed this on the Sing-Off with a very similar arrangement. Jewel (one of the judges) described as "acapella country reggae". Love your reactions!
Love your reactions. I whole heartedly encourage you to watch the Sing Off competition with Home Free but make sure you watch the version with the judges comments. It's interesting to see just how good they were then, and you can see how far they've evolved. I loved that you mentioned reggae.... Jewel was one of the judges and she actually asked if she was hearing a capella country reggae. The judges comments are interesting and often funny!
Don’t know what to say about your reactions anymore, they’re so great EVERY TIME 🤩😎 I really appreciate the fact that you are doing reactions because you enjoy sharing, and also the respect you have for the artists, it makes such genuine reactions, I find it really refreshing 👍
This video previews Home Free's sound for the last five years. Baritone Chris Rupp, the group's founder, was replaced (on good terms) by bass-baritone Adam "Chance." While Brown and Lundquist can both go below C2, Chance is comfortable down there, so the bass line is covered whenever Foust is doing something else.
@@DrummingwithJarvis Yes. There is a video of Tim Foust subwoofer mode 🤯 Geoff, Avi and some others can hit some of the low notes too, can only sustain 5-6 seconds, Tim can hold them an average 15 seconds without losing power. Do You Hear What I Hear is a perfect one to showcase this point. 😊
Your reactions are such a delight to watch! You provide great insight on techniques used and such. You might want to check out Home Free's version that they sang on "The Sing Off" (if you haven't already). Would definitely recommend "Helpless Hoping" if you want to hear some mind-blowing 5-part harmony from the boys.
@@DrummingwithJarvis Oh yes yes HELPLESSLY HOPING .. I'm crazy crazy about Crosby Stills and Nash but I have to say that in this song Home Free takes over.
Great reaction! On the Sing Off version he hits a lot lower and at live concerts! You can see phone cameras shaking of the people videoing in the seats at the venues! Did you notice Adam Rupp while beatboxing that you could see his breath as he was spitting out all those beats into the cold air? Also at the end when Tim dropped that last note Avi changed his cap and put on the cowboy hat! TIM - hitting that fire breathing dragon note AVI - Yep, think I want to be a cowboy now! Great video! I think you would enjoy the Sing Off live version as well or better! It's really 🔥 and you get to hear the host and judges comments! Thank you for the reaction!❤️🍟
@@DrummingwithJarvis Finally!! Somebody is listening to us, lol!! Home Frees version of this on the Sing-Off is badass!! I always recommend watching that one but hardly any reactors do! Theres only been a couple that I know of and it was quite some time ago. ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT!!!❤❤❤
I was at the Indianapolis concert last weekend and the ground shook I was standing in the grass and pretty far back from the stage and I shook. 😆🤣 love your reactions.
@@staceysmith8173 One of my strong visual impressions from that concert is how very white Tim's teeth are, because every time he'd drop the bottom out and the audience would go nuts, he was grinning from ear to ear. The man loves being a bass.
@@lrfcowper I couldn't quite see his teeth from where I was but he does like to play to the crowd. I wish they still did a skit here and there. Maybe they will bring them back 🤔😕
I just love your reactions and how you know what you are talking about! You listen and break it down perfectly every time! Love the heck out of these dudes…. Such amazing talents! ❤️🎼
Jarvis!! Even though this is the song that first introduced me to Home Free, and although I love Avi's voice, this song was never a favourite of mine, except for the Sing-Off version. I'm not even a fan of it live, but this reaction, you, just showed me so many things I hadn't picked up before that I now appreciate it and will enjoy it so much more! And you did it in your usual happy, excited and knowledgeable way! Thank you! This is an amazing reaction and I will watch it again, and I never re-watch reaction videos!
@@DrummingwithJarvis Lowest note I've heard him sing is in FOLSOM PRISON BLUES ..LOWEST E on the piano ..Yaaayyy!! Another take ..great harmonies ..on a Johnny Cash fav !!! It's a treat to watch/ listen to a reaction where the reactor knows what he's talking about.. many thx!!
That last low, low note is Home Free’s Tim Foust, their AWESOME BASS 🔥🥰💥‼️💥🥰🔥. Pretty Incredible 🔥👍💥‼️. And, you have to remember, Tim has a5+ Octave Range….CRAZY GOOD 😳🙃🔥🥰💥‼️
I am so happy you did this song.... Your reactions were priceless in that you could hear all the changes and different notes. This arrangement is so well done. That Tim Foust has a 3 octave range is sick. THANK YOU THANK YOU for reviewing this one!! Now to check out the merch....
Came across your channel a few weeks ago and I've been hooked since the first reaction.....NO CAP! Your reactions seem to be completely genuine and it helps that you're nice to look at also...lol Your wife/fiance`/girlfriend is very lucky. Your reactions are awesome and I love your content. I'm definitely a Homefry and they have ALOT that you can react to. Keep em' coming! I definitely subscribed! #DrummingwithJarvis
Check out a couple of the live versions, as follows: 9 to 5 + beatboxing, Your Man (Josh Turner cover - Tim blows the speakers). It will give you a different look at what they can do, and their humor.
Pentatonix and Home Free are my two favorite groups. I wish they would collaborate for a video with all the members of both groups. Can you imagine the harmonies in that video?
Love Home Free. Another Vocal "Band" you should check out is Naturally 7. They call their style Vocal Play. Wall of Sound is a good introduction. Or In the Air Tonight.
I can't remember if you did their sea shanty medley, (I thought you did but I don't see it in your playlist, unless I overlooked it) . If not, the percussion is insane. And I'm looking forward to the 2 cellos reaction!
love this cover! Great reaction as always Jarvis!...off topic im a huge watch (have way more than i can wear ) guy and love the watch you have on for this video lol
Love, love, love your information on the percussion. Music lover since I was a young'un, but no experience with drums and what they can and can not produce. It really adds to understanding the talent these guys give to a performance. Thank you.
Discovered you via vocal band reactions. Anything Home Free, Voiceplay, PTX, Voctave, etc. I love your enthusiasm for music/performance and sharing your insights. All feels genuine. Music is an amazing thing.
They have around 150 videos and they keep putting out a video every other Friday. You have a deep rabbit hole to go down and we will be here the whole time. Love your reactions.
Love this reaction ! It’s exactly how I responded! One of my favorite parts is easily missed, if you listen very closely at 4:16 on your reaction, as the tenors say “higher” you can hear this sickkk bass downslide underneath it all! Classic Avi move, but I’m not 100% sure it was him! Great reaction!! New Subscriber!! Can’t wait to check out more!
Maaaan... Jarvis....you are just one of the best!!! I freakin love your reactions! Your energy and smile are so contagious(I may have actually said that to you before but if so, it totally deserves to be said again!)You know what you were saying about Adam's "drumming"? How he does exactly what is needed and doesnt overdo it?! Well that's what I think of the way you react...you always comment and give really great information without saying a bunch if stuff that isnt needed. It's always exactly the right amount to compliment the video and not take away from the content. Thanks again for another great time! I can't wait to see you react to the LIVE Sing-Off version of this!! Sooooo excited!❤❤❤
Wasn’t this good?!! Avi was great. That was Tim singing that last note. Sheesh. Adam was killer on the beatboxing. When they sang this on the Sing Off, Jewel (the judge) said was that a country reggae a capella beat? Yeah it was. So different but it worked. I love their version of Folsom Prison Blues (another Johnny Cash song). Good reaction Jarvis!
I'm so late but I absolutely love your reactions and how attentive you are the to smallest details. I saw you got into the voiceplay rabbit hole. Geoff is a monster bass. As you get into more reactions you'll see what I mean.... 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed this. I agree with the previous comments about the live version at "Sing Off" the one including the judges reactions which were quite funny.
I don't know if anyone else has suggested it, but given your affinity for key changes you should check out Pentatonix cover of Can You Feel The Love Tonight from the Lion King. It's legit.
Don’t know if you have checked out the 9 to 5 official video, it’s GREAT! But you need to check out the 9to 5 LIVE version with the beatbox breakdown! They all share a little in that talent!
I CHALLANGE YOU!!!!!! I want to see you to react to voctave!!! 11 men and women (all top shelf singers!) Performing dusney princess medley!!!... you will get knocked out of your chair!!!!!
Jarvis, I would love ❤ to see your reactions to Hamilton. It's an endeavor that is well worth it. Start with the first song on the album and do them all. There is a reason they swept the Tony's and won Grammys.
