I thought initials were two letters? All joking aside, I’m returning my Bullman ring of steps, too noisy, too much fooling around adjusting steps. I’m going with a platform. Your point is well taken, the tree hopper steps look good and are easily adjustable as you demonstrated.
All three of my Summit climbers have something on the platforms to keep my feet from the cold metal with my favorite solution being the ultralight 2”x16” “Treestand Treads” adhesive Strips from Third Hand Archery. Great suggestions on the ring of steps.
I could not find this video on your channel under "videos" but think I found it in your "community" along with the request to let you know if you couldn't find it. you are right . something is wrong and your channel shows 8months ago being your last uploaded vid. great video ideas. helpful to me. thanks
I don't know what a safety J is. Do you mean the hook connection end with the spring loaded pop up that keeps it from coming off? If that's what a safety J is then, yes. Although I cut off the spring loaded pop up keeper.
Thanks for watching and for your question. There are a bunch of youtube videos on how to thread an OCB. I'll attach one here. Once you get the hang of it, it's super simple. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mGE2pde2ANI.htmlsi=IqEkMs5BF5A6Z-PO Good luck.
I have not tried other steps. Bullman steps look nice, but I like the way these stack up. Bullman look like kind of a mess stuffing them into a sack. I'm sure they make noise doing that. I have not noticed and discomfort from not having rounded edges. I don't always use a ROS. On several of my presets, I have bolts in the tree for a ROS and use them in conjunction with my platform. I still like having a platform. This morning I stood for about 30 minutes and if felt great. lol. Can't do that with a ROS. But it sure makes it nice to get around the tree and into a solid shooting position. Good Luck and thanks for watching.
Darn, too bad. I had forgotten how to thread it once and I had to look it up on RU-vid or something. Maybe I should make a video on how to thread an Over Center Buckle (OCB).
