Ring is known for its suite of home security cameras and doorbell cameras. Today we're reviewing the Ring Spotlight Cam. This 1080p camera has two bright spotlights on either side that work with motion activation and kick in the camera's color night vision. We'll install it, show you the app, and give our final verdict in this video.

49yrs old but i've had my fair share of medical problems. Lovin' Kasey Tross for her research on medical alerts. Was looking at getting Life Alert but OMG, they're insanely expensive w/ their product prices, monthly monitoring and activation fees. No wonder why they don't publicly advertise prices. You'll need that Life Alert on your first bill and every month after that. New sub. TYVM Kasey.

The nighttime vision is pretty comparable to pretty much every night vision security cam like shown in the video, although just note at a good distance, probably 30-40 feet if someone walks into the darkness they will disappear like a ghost, at 30 feet if someone’s walking across the cam there will be a shuddering effect of the person.

Bought this one because the older version ru-vid.comUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQ had was really choppy and would disconnect from the wifi ALOT, was not catching everything and every week j had to charge it. So far the picture quality on this one is exceptional. I also bought a solar panel with it so I will see how this all turns out.

Great review. How long does the battery last? And can you put 2 batteries in it? Sometimes I go away on RV trips for 2 months..

Theres solar version too. Unfortunately recordings are only motion activated and the length of recording doesnt always catch all the activity. There are gaps btwn recordings, possibly missing crucial activity

Hey ummm excuse me does the ring spotlight camera with the wifi would it work still if the wifi was to be turned off?

Short answer, no. Long answer, also no. Without a Wi-Fi connection your camera won't be able to send video footage to the cloud for storage or your app for you to view.

If you've got Wi-Fi in your truck, sure! But a dash cam may be a much better fit for adding a camera to your rig.

Am I the only one wondering how long the battery last in average ? How and how long to charge the battery ? Also is it ok to use it without the pay per month subscription ? " To get the best features you still need to pay the monthly subscription" - It would be so much better if the "best features" and free features are listed in the video.

Hey @oscarchong we can help with that. Sorry if we didn't cover everything in the video. The battery lasts around six weeks. And you don't have to get a Ring subscription to use it. But those "best features" include things like video recording. So without that subscription, you can't look back on past videos, the camera won't give you smart alerts with clips (like a person passing by your house for example). TL;DR, without the subscription, all you can do is view live feed.
