Having worked with akai myself. A lot of the people there are English, like Andy Mac. England is big on reggae styles. Im definitely getting it for my dub sets. Also Pete Rock did a song with Westside Gunn where he uses an actual hardware dub siren called Mac Dont Stop.
'Ring the alarrrm...another sound is dying' - Tenor Saw RIP Well as an original soundman from 1978 to a present day 60 year-old artist 31 albums deep, and 'non-MPC' user I must say its nice to see this as an addition and an option for Reggae/Jungle/Garage/Other beat makers. On hearing the sounds they are a decent hybrid to the original dub sirens that were prevalent back in the day. I don't make classical music, but should that prevent me from using violins in my tracks..er...no. That's the great thing about music production right now, fusing A with B with Zee thats what makes all of us unique unless you're still riding the type beat train that is, and that cool as well. There's room for everyone with everything that's made for music - Bless up
Akai MPCs were made to make music, whatever the genre. I didn't know MPCs for Hip Hop back in the early nineties. Reggae drummers and beat makers used them. It makes sense for Akai to service the Reggae/Dub community with a plugin like Ring The Alarm as a lot of Reggae and Dub tunes from the nineties were made on MPCs. I can already make those sounds with what I have but I'm still getting this
Akai didn't make this, another company created it and brought it to them..according to Akai. I ain't mad, but some people act like the MPC is only for Hip Hop and no other genres utilized the MPC.
Ave speaking of ring the alarm, we the community need you to go look at "Cassette DJ by Snapbeat" right now and hype this crazy genius Vietnamese dude up cus he's about to re-invent hip-hop turntablism for the history books
I know it’s a lost cause but I hope people don’t trash Akai too much for this. It’s super simple and you can grab it for like 15 dollars, it’s not a terrible deal at all. That being said people do realize they can create the exact same sounds on mini d/odyssey/etc by just self oscillating the filter and using EG/LFO right? That also being said I’m going to buy it.
When I came across it yesterday I was like "I can make these same sounds using some of the fx sounds in the other plugins." I don't knock it since I'm sure there are those who can use it and don't want to spend time making risers and other sound FX. I just don't think I'll be copping.
You can replicate any feature, sound or effect of any plugin by using some other plugin/plugins. I don't know why people keep bringing up this point. Makes no sense at all. If that were the case, then all the plugin companies might as well pack up and go home. It's all about workflow. You can have a plugin that is dedicated to do one thing really well, or you could waste precious time trying to find the right combination of plugins to do what that one plugin does. That's the point of plugins. To speed up your workflow by doing one or two things and let you get straight to making music.
This is a dope addition to the MPC plugins, guys lets stop complaining about the Standalone Stems issue,to be all the way honest when you look at how far MPCs have come we are actually spoiled, the modern MPCs are extremely powerful and if you can't create dope beats just because you don't have standalone stems you tripping 💯Big to Dj Ave,your videos are dope.Bless
Its really a super niche product but of people have a use for it all good, for me Im hoping the next generation of MPCs will be powerful enough to host equivalents to Serum & Surge XT, maybe even its own version of a modular environment.
Bro, love your videos! I was wondering if I could request an MPC comparison video. They have a nice lineup, it would be cool to see a comparison from you to help decide which one is best for me
Blame the programmers, someone is getting paid for managing all these teams. Should be sacked. This siren noise it sounds like Akai is laughing at disappointed people, they didn’t get stems for standalone. What’s next? Farting machine for 99£?
I think they should just focus on making the os bug free because they keep adding stuff and more bugs comes with it. I got all the synth engines on iOS and hardware. Just make it do what it supposed to do well
I follow a lot of content creators who do reggae and Afro beat on the MPC. I don’t get the bias against reggae and Afro beat. Also hip hop has lost 40 percent of its share. Labels are focused on African and Latin. So this plug in makes sense
@@AveMcree ninjas waiting on standalone stems and jesus to save them wack beats... im convinced anyone complaining about stems standalone is trash.... straight basura
Great video Ave,its a nice plugin, you ave,it sad that its been fashionable for a long time now,too push talented black artists to one side, and to not acknowledge them.its hard to see,but we keep our shit moving forward.peace
I need help with my MPC One plus... I have found plenty of on board sounds/samples but it's not letting me log in to get my free plugin & it gets you real frustrated because you spend your $$$ only to get stuck & AKAI never returns calls or emails about help. I can use factory sounds as long as I can export, trim & song mode my beats. Help!
You create an account on the Akai website and enter the number that is on the back of your MPC. You may have to register somewhere else. There is now a second website where you have to register. I can't remember the name. You should normally get your plugin from there. Unless you bought the MPC second-hand and someone just kept the plugin.
Back around 2008 I DJed a venue that had some sketchy-ass mixer with a cheesy siren-effect button placed right where you could trigger it accidently while tweaking your gain levels. That POS nearly ruined my night and it sounded just like this one on the MPC plugin. Mad respect for Jamaican dub kulcha but I will NEVER put that sound on a track. 😭💩
@@charlesedward117 Ashamed ? watch your mouth, I never said I needed it, but there are some out there who could use this. No matter what you or others think. Never ashamed of nothing mothf@$*a
