This is the story of Ringfield, the Model Railway. I have named the video "Ringfield Evolution," for it traces its history as well as operation. I commenced my journey into model railways in 1954 when my Mum and Dad presented me with a clockwork O gauge train set. In the 1960s I moved on into Triang electrics, then in the 70s into N gauge, all of which just ran on the floor or bare boards. Ringfield (named after an early Hornby motor) was my first attempt at a fully operational model with scenery. The video is in Chapters. We commence with an introduction, then look at each scene on the layout, before "going back in time" to its design and construction. In the final section, we take a cab ride around the main line, then look at the branch line to Lines End Station before concluding with some night operations. I ceased operating the layout in 2020 after a major health shake up, at which point the layout was about 90% complete. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as I enjoyed designing, constructing and operating it. Terry (The Terrysaurus Rex) (Music, once again, is courtesy of Purple Planet Music.
