A lower on this lovely 1964 Taylor eight near Altrincham. The church is a very beautiful Victorian building although it retains some of the roof structure of the previous church. The bells are rung from a gallery at the west end, and are excellent to ring. I really like this brighter Taylor sound from the 1960s and 1970s. The present octave replace a ring of eight by Gillett & Johnston of 1923, and I wonder why the church had them replaced? If anyone knows, do enlighten me as G&J bells of that era should have been superb!
