Rings of Power Review Episode 3 - Galadriel HORROR 

This episode of LOTR: Rings of Power REALLY showed what we have coming in the future! Galadriel somehow managed to act even more horribly to people. The harfoots showed their true colours of being absolutely evil to even people in their own town! And Arondir achieved....nothing? How did his friends even get there? I think this version of Galadriel would have accepted the ring from Frodo.

Sauron was originally just a nice guy living his life, after spending a week with this galadriel he just wanted everything to die...

What an odd choice for Galadriel when they could have easily kept her gracious and more-informed-than-everyone character, made her the “Gandalf” of the series, building alliances, putting quests together, solving mysteries, etc. She could have been everything a person could want in a female role model. What a strange choice.

"Orcs don't really strike me as the type to just make threats. I feel like they'd just hit you and you'd learn'. Gold sir. Pure gold. 😂

Harfoots: "our hearts are even bigger than our feet" Also harfoots: "yeah, we're gonna leave you here to die. g'luck mate."

I think we can learn one VERY important lesson from this show. No amount of money can replace talent.

When the reviews are more entertaining than the actual show.

I love how they turned the charming hobbits of LOTR and The Hobbit into a wild tribe of heartless savages who abandoned their own kind to die in the wilderness if they are too sick or elderly to keep up. I love when the chief says "We carry those left behind in our hearts." Why not carry them in your carts? Who's running this migration? Galadriel? Another thing how are they able to avoid detection pulling carts along paths? Their attempt at camouflage isn't going to stop people noticing moving hills and all the noise. And besides people would be stumbling across the bodies of harfoots all the time left behind to die.

There isn’t nearly enough people talking about how Elendil and Isildur are alive nearly 2000 years before they’re supposed to be born.

I think I finally figured out what the plot is. Making everyone so insufferable makes us like and root for the orcs, thus ending orc discrimination and racism.

All Hail The Fellowship!

I’ve cracked the code. They had to write Galadriel as the most insufferable pain in the backside imaginable as that’s the only way to make her a believable love interest for Sauron/Halbrand. Now they get to be evil and torment everyone together.

So much for Galadriel being able to look into the hearts and minds of others and read them fairly. Maybe she gains that power after killing enough.

This series makes me root for Sauron. He is unironically the most likable character here. Especially since it feels like he is trying to live in peace, while Guyladirel drags him back into madness.

I loved it when she said: "no matter how much you suffered destroying the Ring, you don´t get catcalled or mansplained, Frodo!" That was so brave!

The maturity of Elendil next to the childish yet thousand year old "elf" Galadriel is stark.

I have this odd head-canon. When you consider: 1) There is an entire storyline about orcs moving in and taking over peaceful lands in order to found Mordor. A high point for orcs. 2) The men of said lands, nomadic wandering men, and the men on the raft are all portrayed as nasty, hateful, and antagonistic from the viewer's perspective. 3) None of the characters are likable and the viewer finds themself routing against every character regardless of race, gender, age, location etc. 4) Not-Gandalf is portrayed as a schizophrenic mental patient. 5) All characters have trouble expressing any emotion and barely even face each other when communicating, even characters who are allegedly romantically involved. Almost like the series is incapable of portraying emotion or complex thought but is mimicking what it perceives as such. 6) No appreciation of art as wardrobes and armor of characters is plain, boring, and forgettable. While orcs are more heavily focused on and humanized with blue eyes, female orcs, and more detailed costumes and features. 7) The story is barely explained and there is little to no explanation of history or the lore of the universe in which the series is set. As if there is no knowledge/memory of it. 8) Every storyline is about impending darkness, vengeance, or poisoning of land. There is no element of creation anywhere in the series. - It will never be addressed, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this series is actually written from the understanding and point of view of a random orc living in the second age.

It was crazy! Galadriel waltzed into that queen’s court and just start spouting orders and being rude to everyone.

In business there’s a simple rule: sell to who your customers are, not who you want them to be. If you don’t like your customer, you’re in the wrong business. Also for every time someone unnecessarily rolls their R's, you take a shot.

The most relatable character in this series is Sauron

Disparu: "I think that can only mean one thing." Me: "Vampires!" Disparu: "Gingers."

These hobbits are monsters, Poppy lost all her family and nobody gives a single shit, even her only “friend” Nori blackmails her and almost gets her kicked out of the group. These are the ones with hearts bigger than their feet, leaving an orphan little girl behind just because she’s not fast enough… holy crap.

The shady human says let's be diplomatic and the elven noble reknowned for her grace says "no, let's be ungrateful demanding assholes and make threats while we're at it." I also love how Halbrand is about to say he met Galadriel by chance, and Galadriel cuts him of to say the exact same thing.

"We will sweep the enemy from these lands like salt from a table." It took me awhile to stop laughing after I heard that.

This show makes you think that Galadriel turns into Sauron.

The Sea is always right? Why couldn’t you just say, “I couldn’t just leave them to die.” Or something along those lines? And do elves find out NOW about Orc’s sensitivity to light? Haven’t they been fighting them forever now?

Serious question. Why did Sauron leave a map to his evil plan on the dead body of Galadriel's brother?

Did Galadriel have a growth spurt when she reached 2000 years old? She's meant to be well over six feet tall.

I think there’s going to be a plot twist: clearly the only one with a enough of a destructive, insufferable, and suspiciously evil streak to be Sauron is this Galadriel. It probably turns out the Galadriel seen in the third age is a completely different person with the same name. Maybe tons of people are named Galadriel. Maybe it’s like “Sarah” or “Jennifer” in their world.

The hobbits who founded Hobbiton and the shire were the ones who got sick of the savage wandering hobohobbits and thought sod this and "fell behind".

The notion that all an Elf - any elf, male or female - would have to do to hide their Elven nature is *cover up their ears*, in the world of Tolkien, is fucking ludicrous XD There's a whole lot more to them than pointy ears, Jesus Christ, these fucking people.

I FIGURED IT OUT! The show writers saw LotR and heard “I don’t know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserved”... and they never could figure it out. So now they just write nonsense that they think is deep.

So, Sauron carves the map of Mordor onto Finrod's body, in the year FA 465. First Age. When Mordor didn't exist, and there was a sea (Helcar) in that location. The most expensive TV show to date, ladies and gentlemen. 🤦

This was 1000% more entertaining than the actual show 😂 Bloody hell. You nailed it, mate!

If your elves can hide what they are just by covering their ears, what exactly is Elvish about them?

The Rings of Power is like watching a live version of Terrible Writing Advice

I literally rewatched the LOTR trilogy to cleanse my brain and eyeballs. I will not watch any more of this show but I appreciate you reviewing it! So funny.

When Sauron tells Bowser "I am the one who knocks." I got literal shills. 10/10.

I absolutely loved the part when the rings of power were forged, and celebrimbor proclaimed “behold, they shall be known as the great rings of power!” And galadriel approaches, inspects them, and announces “they will be, when they fit a woman” And just as soon as she puts it on the ring radiates a vibrancy like the sun, showing that true power can only exist in a woman’s hands. Incredible!

Amazing, they can go OUT OF THE WAY to take the beards off of the female dwarves, but on the men of Númenor and particularly Elendil, they put a beard on him--and Tolkien goes out of his way to relate that they grew NO FACIAL HAIR (much like the elves). RotFL. These people...

This Galadriel reminds me of The Witch when she’s first introduced in The Magician’s Nephew by CS Lewis. She talks down to everyone, calling them “slave” “knave” or “fool” and shows no interest in people except in how she can use them to get what she wants.

Love how they had to adjust the map to match their symbol rather than just making their symbol match the map in the first place

I liked when Galadriel said "It's Galadrin time" That was amazing

I'm kind of hoping for some twist where she is somehow possessed by Sauron because as they portray her, she is clearly the bad guy of the show.

What pissed me off is that Elendil is supposed to be one of the tallest Numenoreans in history since he is 7'11 Feet Tall . To put it into reference, the average Numenorean man height is 6'4 feet. Tolkien literally makes it a big deal that these tall behemoths were much stronger than average men, and lesser groups of men worshipped early Numenorean sailors as gods. They were also very physically strong that they shot arrows using bows and arrows made entirely out of steel. A few of these dudes using a shield wall can hold back tides of orcs half their size. However, orcs were dangerous for their numbers and ferocity. Also, sunlight only physically weakens orcs, it didn't burn them like you see in this show. They're not vampires.

You jumped over Elendil's complete degradation in this show: He's a close kinsman of the Kings of Numenor, and a lord of one of their 6 provinces, namely the westward-facing one, Andustar with the city of Andunië. But no, he's just a peasant from a family that used to mean something (how correct in representing this show in comparison to the original works).

I thought thinking one race was either inferior or superior to another was racism, but I’ve since discovered racism is actually not liking a painfully woke, diabolical TV rendition of an all time classic piece of literature.

The face Galadriel made riding the horse.... my god... scariest thing I ever seen. That was the moment I was 100% sure couldn't take this serie anymore haha

The part when Galadriel proclaims, "the Force is Female!" CHIILS...... So Brave!

Considering how cut-throat and unforgiving their culture ostensibly is, the Harfoots' bumbling, naiive, village-hall, farts-and-jam modus vivendi is so far from the mark it somehow makes everything about them even worse.

I haven't watched episode 3 yet, but I'm just going to watch Disparu's reaction instead because it's going to be so much more entertaining than episode 1 and 2 were.

According to this show elves have not discovered horses. I mean the way Galadriel reacts to riding one it seems like a new experience to her. Also consider Elrond and Celebrimbor just walk all the way to Khazad Dum and Ardondir walks with Bronwyn to the next town which is like a days walk. Why wouldn't they have horses?

"It's not a sigil, it's a map!" Oh, you just know the writers were super damn impressed with themselves for that amazing idea.

The callousness of the supposedly kind and happy-go-lucky hobbits was absolutely hilarious

"Hey, remember the guy that Sauron quickly killed and his son that cut off Sauron's fingers with his father's broken sword?" Yes, and I still can't bring myself to watch your show, Amazon.

Owning the LOTR IP is essentially like having a license to print money. The fact they somehow managed to spin it into such an enormous disaster is actually impressive.

My favourite scene was when the Queen was trying to tell Galadriel what the law is but Galadriel stops her and yells "I am the Law!" Powerful

I love how the show writers have written Galadriel to come across as clever, brave and witty but she just comes off as a complete and utter c-word. The absolute destruction of such a great character is hard to watch, nearly as hard as watching soft touch Elrond.

Why didn’t the Orcs dig a REAL tunnel, totally underground, instead of exposing themselves to sunlight and the Elves who are on watch in the South LOOKING FOR EXACTLY THIS KIND OF PROBLEM?

Tolkien said that orcs get very light headed and nauseous in the sun. They don’t burn like vampires

I'm just waiting for the bit where one of the elves escapes from the orcs and makes it back home to tell of the imminent danger. But then everyone there just dismisses him, and he has to sort out the problem himself anyway. We could fill up a whole episode with someone just walking back and forth pointlessly.

My biggest disappointment is still that they didn't categorized the human actors into dwarves, humans, elves and hobbits like they did in Peter Jacksons work. The actors that plays the elves for as far as I have seen are not suitable to play elves. The actress that plays Galadriel is just such an awful choice. She has a mouse face. She looks like the best looking woman from low class people. Elves with modern haircuts, too short hair. It's all so bad.

Why do people keep saying this "looks like an epic film" when every set looks tiny? It's almost like those people are lying.

I wanna quote Tokien from his second edition foreword: "As for any inner meaning or 'message', it has the intention of the author none. It is neither allegorical or topical." He goes on to say a lot more that is so relevant to the problems with this show. He even wrote this around the times of WW2 and he lived through WW1. He had every reason in the world to go political, but he didn't. I wish the creators of the show had the same passion to just tell a story. Tolkien's LOTR is incredible. Its just a shame. glad to see youve actually mentioned this in your other videos!

It'd be ironic if the hobbit community was formed by all the harfoots that got left behind. "It was a dark day in hobbit history when we were nomadic. We were a selfish lot and didn't look after each other. Then we settled down and became a civilized community, harfoots no longer."

It's pathetic how they didn't even manage to bleach Galadriel's hair properly to make it silver-blonde. I mean, her dark hairline is clearly visible, ffs.

Okay, but Halbrand in every other scene staring at Galadriel in shocked disbelief "did she really fUCKinG sAY tHAt" is a balm to my hurting soul.

Don't know what the orcs are doing with their open-air tunneling project, but I suspect they're looking for the plot of the first three episodes.

This just reinforces that they spent most of the money on cgi and a money laundering scheme and when it came to hiring writers and directors they just yelled woke nonsense and pointed at the turning heads.

The part where Sauron knocks on Bilbo's head and says, "Mcfly! Hellow Mcfly!" ...I felt that.

The more I look at Morfydd Clark's face and hear her voice the less I see/hear Galadriel. Overall, she gives an appearance of mousiness and is very shrill besides.

The horse scene was the funniest thing i've ever seen. Seriously, I burst out laughing, it was so completely unexpected, the slow motion and her gollum face. Pahaha, Like she's finally happy to fast travel across the map.

So... let me get sthis straight... We have an elf, thousands of years old, beeing litteraly portrait as a "small girl" that is happy to ride a horse, while the 50 something year old men gets a kind of "father figure for her" szene? ... ok, I'm done.

Just small correction, don't let the show fool you, the island were not given because of the elves. Eru created it and granted the Numenorians long mortal life as they wished, they are elven descendants. The envy for immortal elven life and Numenorian corruption happened much later when Sauron got taken as hostage.

"The sea is always right," was a cheap way to include a supernatural element without referring to ANY of the Valar.

The one thing that's really sticking with me is that all of the budget evidently went onto the CGI and setting. But all the good CGI seems to be very sparse. And let's not even get into most of the sets, a good bit of the CGI or any of the costuming and props (that sword Miriel gives Elendil isn't exactly the one that Aragorn took from Elrond). For over a billion dollars spent, 97.10% of this show looks so cheap. And weak and amateurish and incredibly painfully fake. Add that to the completely nonsensical writing, iffy/bad acting, and slow-mo pacing -- you get an expensive disaster that fails in almost every way to pull the viewer in at all. But no one can really point any of this out without being labeled a bigoted asshole. Perfectly sensible. Also, I'm now completely traumatized by the murder hobbits. Actually the showrunners are right. The Harfoots (at least these ones) aren't hobbits. Hobbits are Frodo and Sam and Merry and Pippin. Frodo choosing to continue with the quest and show mercy even to Gollum. Loyal caretaking Sam who followed Frodo to hell & back. Merry & Pippin who chose to fight for what was right and to help other species even after they'd been separated and could've stayed safe. These Harfoots callously abandon any of their kind if it's the slightest bit inconvenient and then try to constantly claim they are more loving than any other creature that exists. These Harfoots aren't hobbits - they're just really fucking awful. But also so is our 'so brave' Galadriel who seriously gets more unlikeable & worse every second she's on-screen. Tripled by any action she does as well as whenever she opens her mouth. I do love Halbrand's 'WTF' looks he keeps giving though. Maybe because it's the look we're all giving everytime something happens in this show.

And into this show he poured his money, his greed and his will to dominate all film. One show to ruin them all.”

Galadriel is not just ‘a couple thousand years’ old, she’s over 23.000 years old according to Tolkiens last notes. Even if we disregard those notes and go by his original draft, she’s well over 5000 years old during the time of the show

But leaping to certain death to avoid Valinor would lead to her being reincarnated...in...Valinor?

The fact that the show is as expensive as it is makes this shit so much funnier

Are they making Halbrand likeable so we can be all OMG when he turns out to be the bad guy? So far I'm just happy to have a character I don't hate on screen.

That riding scene was genuinely disturbing. How that deranged look on her face made it past the editing process is beyond me. Is that what these people think happiness looks like?
