Everyone who hates it and promises to not watch has watched the trailer and will watch every episode that will come out.

I'd have liked them to base it around Umbar. That gives you the Numenorean angle, it's where Ar-Pharazon landed when he took on Sauron, and being in Harad, which is largely undescribed, you can expand on Tolkien with a fairly free hand. Added to which as it's in the middle-earth equivalent of north Africa diverse casting makes perfect sense and doesn't contradict the lore at all.

I saw that too and took a closer look at that particular scene. It doesn't appear he is actually riding the Eagle. My guess is he pulls out his sword because he is going to attack it. Not that that is any better.

Not sure he will ride it but Manwe is not Eru. Despite his wisdom and control he can misjudge or slow to recognise characters intentions especially those who are seen to be good but conceal their deceit.

Maybe watch 3 Body count instead or makanai-cooking for the maiko house. Gives a better look into real geiko and Maiko with a slight twist but shows more real Japanese culture. Subtitle version for most immersion as the characters have so much soul

Yep, the great eagles are unambiguously good; emissaries of Manwe and Valinor. The Faithful's devotion to them is symbolic of their devotion to the Valar; therefore the eagles would have nothing to do with the King's men, and vice versa. So indescribably stupid. It’s so funny with the difference in the comment sections between Men of the West and Nerd or the Rings. Same LotR material and content, are friends, and their comment sections of the two channels couldn’t be more polar opposites. It’s crazy! 🤪

Pharazôn was beloved. There is so much of this cultural shift and so many númenorean characters that could be shown but none… example - Tolkien untangleds remake was awesome same with council of the rings who made his own episodes in full illustration and voice acting. He gave an actual rings of power series full of integrity and when it’s finished with the next episodes it’ll become even more famous.

While there was a lot of changes, some ridiculous, the movies weren’t bad per se and at least palatable, without contempt or utter disrespect for Tolkien’s lore - which PJ does respect. I don’t remember seeing any of such shit in the Hobbit movies you are claiming. And it can’t be nearly compared to the atrocity which is this other TV show, there’s a huge abyss between them. But of course, it’s a matter of personal taste and opinion. There’s people out there that even like the current shit show, but hopefully videos like this we are commenting on will help them find the real lore

Oh no. It means they were working on it since everyone wanted them to deliver after they gave the trailer at the superbowl. And now they see how much they alienated the core fans ontop of realizing they actually need to use the source material. Yes, I don't think the idea is that he is supposed to be hiding his identity again. It's probably that he wants to look this way for whatever reason. In Tolkien's writings, iirc, it's mentioned that Sauron's death in the drowning of Numenor deprived him of the ability to take on a fair form in the future. That at least leaves open the idea that he had kept a fair form even after his Annatar deception had been uncovered.

The Dwarves weren't immune to the Rings of Power. It didn't make them susceptible to being dominated as Sauron desired but the Rings did increase their greed for treasure which eventually brought dragons (and in the case of Khazad-dûm, a Balrog) down on them.

And they became a bit more reclusive and the books state the echoes in the mountains from the nameless things I’d what drove them to become more greedy. Even dimly attacking the one ring is another example of this as it was hid literal first action upon seeing it.

The balrog was there as it was a refugee from the War Of Wrath which is why once Manwë decreed after the 80 year long war ended and resulted inti the sinking of Beleriand, middle earths entire half of its landmass to the bottom of the sea: that any creature of that nature or even those like orcs would be no longer able to walk freely under the sun as it’s why it hampers them and even burns them at times. And that balrog heard and felt Manwë’s voice that’s for sure. Heck. Even when Gandalf fought with the balrog for ten days and nights the nameless things attacked them both. Wild stuff.

Exactly ! The real story is so much better. Eons better. They keep zooming in on him too, and to those who say we don’t know yet: elves don’t ever likely turn on eachother. And after the unspeakable kinslayings that happened mannny thousands of years ago back from the second age setting they don’t take kindly to such behaviour. Annatar even sowed seeds of doubt to try and get the clan that was native to that area to oust the Noldor etc. Firstly: All 16 rings were meant to go to the elves ( which lead to 300-500years of his infiltration & deception down the drain.) but Mairon of the Maiar(primordial angelic beings in simple terms as they are sort of beyond angels) disguised as a high elf named Annatar when he came to the elves pretending to be an emissary from Valinor on behalf of the Valar so it makes sense how alluring the ring is and how strong it’s pull on people is. (A bit too instant in the movies though) Galadriel soon saw right through him and especially when after speaking with him regarding not remembering him when in Valinor long ago where she learned from all the Valar thanks to being dominantly Vanyar/Teleri side over her Noldorin side where she gleaned from that encounter that she did not study under Aulë the Vala with any elf named Annatar ! But later named Sauron by the elves meaning deceiver! After all of this, The three elven rings were made in secret without Saurons touch upon them thanks to Celebrimbor! Remember Gandalf before he became Gandalf was the same species of entity Sauron used to be!! Wow hey? The Rings in this case, would have lost their powers eventually due to the lack of the One Ring and possibly because they were designed to defeat evil, & evil in the form of Sauron had been defeated twice already in the past. The Three Elven Rings served their purpose for a long time. Two out of three of them had several different bearers Unlike the other Rings, the main purpose of the Three is to "heal and preserve", as when Galadriel used Nenya to preserve her realm of Lothlórien over long periods. The Elves made the Three Rings to try to halt the passage of time, or as Tolkien had Elrond say, "to preserve all things unstained". I can expand upon this based on any further statements & questions you have for me as a reply to this comment ! ❤ There is problem here with the Rings, the Three were supposed to be never touched by Sauron and that's why they were not corrupting…Sauron had not taken part in their making which made the Three more 'pure' unsullied by his dark power, unlike the Nine and Seven Rings! But Sauron in the show touched the very material they were made of!!! So technically he could have tainted them and corrupted! Even appendices of Lot tell us the order of making the rings, so they didn't even need the righs to more detailed writings in UT or Silmarillion: 1200 Sauron endeavours to seduce the Eldar. Gil-galad refuses to treat with him; but the smiths of Eregion are won over. The Númenoreans begin to make permanent havens. c. 1500 The Elven-smiths instructed by Sauron reach the height of their skill. They begin the forging of the Rings of Power. c. 1590 The Three Rings are completed in Eregion. c. 1600 Sauron forges the One Ring in Orodruin. He completes the Barad-dûr. Kelebrimbor perceives the designs of Sauron. 1693 War of the Elves & Sauron begins. The Three Rings are hidden." 'Did you not hear me, Gloin?' said Elrond. 'The Three were not made by Sauron, nor did he ever touch them. But of them it is not permitted to speak. So much only in this hour of doubt I may now say. They are not idle. The 9 Nazgûl are blind and basically deaf also, they can only "smell" the ring and the energies of the Unseen Realm. Sauron was always weary of WitchKing Of Angmar. Leader Nazgûl. He and his forces almost singlehandedly destroyed the three kingdoms of Númenoreans at the region of Arnor mainly by spreading plagues upon the land with what is called The Black Breath. How sad is it that they "achieved" a twisted form of immortality but now they cannot interact with nor enjoy the world around them. The envy a portion of the Númenoreans had for the elves basically lead these individuals to such a choice, one by one of the 9 falling to Sauron at different speeds, and some even did good for the world for quite a while. - The 3 Elven Rings are not susceptible to “The One Ring” in any direct way.. They’re only tied by fate to lose their power if Sauron is defeated completely & absolutely. As they were made by the elves and as always they make things for a purpose and pour their literal spirit into things they create. So if Sauron is defeated then the three rings power will fade and basically become almost useless or diminished versions of their original design since by this era magic has bled from the world by a huge degree thanks to Morgoth’s poisoning the world itself with his very essence that he poured into it. Called The Long Defeat By The Elves and The Men Of The West.

Even the real Celebrimbor wasn’t this dumb. It needs to simply show Annatar actually working with the gwaith í Mirdain and his best friend dwarf Narvi and the other dwarves. If they cannot show Galadriels close relationship with the dwarves just like her brother had I’ll be even more sad as it’s why she takes the khazad dum route to get out of the frey and head to Lorinand. And Celeborn is a huge reason along side Galadriel herself that eregion didn’t fall. Tolkien stated Sauron failed mainly because of them and their leadership prowess and internal power/might.
