I've been doing mobile detailing and started exclusively doing interiors. Realizing I was leaving money on the table and was not getting some customers who wanted both, I started doing exteriors, with little experience outside of using a car wash. Having started with very little money, I spent about $300 on chemicals, a cheap but quality pressure washer, and an upgraded pressure washer hose. However I realized that my setup time at a job site was so much longer JUST based around the pressure washer. When running as a business, and considering I love extremely efficient systems, I went on a long journey into this whole realm. This system that you have right here is just immaculate. You just did an entire car in what it would take me to do 2 tires. I'm picking up a Ryobi 600 psi cordless power sprayer and going to use this EXACT method. My thinking is, if the pressure sprayer has it's bottles set up properly, I can do the pre-treatment with ONR and another bottle with APC for the tires, without having to even spend time or energy pumping it. Also I've been using wash mitts and I don't like the amount of energy output due to ergonomics, so the sponge seems perfectly built for a hand to grasp firmly and apply properly. Sorry for the book, just wanted to say Yvan is such a genius, big fan of yours and thank you again for the great content!

@@LolLol-uk2jc network network network. When you're first starting you're gonna have a lot of down time if you're not established, so use that time and hit the road and drop your business cards in real estate offices, someone you may see at a parking lot with a nice vehicle and never approach trying to sell them, simply make them aware you're the detailer in the area in case they ever need anything and that's it. Go the extra mile in making sure whatever customers you have you're doing the job right the first time, don't over book yourself so that you're not rushing things and very important, work on your own personal development, customer service and communication skills. You can be a great detailer, but if you look, talk and behave unprofessional, it's a big turn off for people and one of the main things my clients comment on is my customer service. What's funny is that I'm not a "YES MAN", I'm firm but I'm fair and I listen to their concerns. Post on your local neighborhood Facebook groups if allowed but don't be spammy, post on the Nextdoor App and every single time you finish a job, ask them to leave you a review if they're happy with the work and if not to let you know. Have a website and a Google page. A website can be a big selling point for some people, the right client will want to know about you before even considering you, so a website helps as a presentation before they decide to contact you. Gotta have money saved up to cover bills for 6 months just in case cause typically, unless you already have a strong supporting network, you're gonna have to struggle for that 1st year or longer. Most quit, but some of us see it as a marathon and keep at it. Be frugal with your spending, don't fall into the trap of buying every fancy chemical out there and stick to what's giving you results until you can afford to experiment with something else IF you feel like it could make you more efficient.

I've tried rinseless. It's okay but I seldom do it unless it's very cold. I prefer a cheap foamer attached to garden hose. No pressure washer. I do my entire car in twenty minutes or less. Although the amount of protection on my car reduces drying to a minimum. It almost dries itself.
@stephen1503

I use rinseless exclusively for my business. Never see any swirls, scratches, or any other word thrown out there. I know “dirt” is now a debated topic apparently, and region dependent. You could have a salt covered car but someone from the jungle whos been mudding in 10ft trenches will say “tHatS nOt rEal DiRt!!!!” Rinseless users have made the claim that is safe, effective, and easy. Have even shown you can incorporate APC, pressure washers, whatever makes you comfortable. The burden of proof was on said users and has been given multiple times. Now, all the people making the claim rinseless scratches, soap “cleans more” (btw what the heck does cleans more mean? I understand the literal words but if the dirt is off the car how can you clean it _more_?) have the burden of proof to show evidence that rinseless scratches or is not getting the car clean. But they never do. There are countless videos showcasing Rinseless but you never see any videos showing how it’s bad from people who don’t like it. Get your head out of your arse and out of your ego of thinking you know everything and just try the dang bottle of ONR already!

@@PhilRuybal fun tip: go to lowes and pick up the Husqvarna brand 2 gallon sprayer. It is allegedly rated @ 80PSI. Not sure if that’s quite true but it’s the strongest pump sprayer I’ve found. Would drying a panel at a time be considered safer? I know there's no harm letting the rinseless solution dry on a panel, but couldn't it leave some dirt on the surface and then you don't have enough lubrication and encapsulation to safely remove it?
@greatestNothin
@greatestNothin 2 года назад
As long as the dirt was hit with either the presoak or the sponge applying the RW the dirt should be encapsulated. The drying aid will help as well but isn't necessary. Of course you could lightly mist with the RW solution before drying if it's in direct sunlight or the panel is heated for whatever reason.

Rinseless vs traditional washing; it’s all based on opinion. Different times once works better or faster than the other. I disagree with rinsless being “safer” because I have done tons of traditional in just as fast of time and never had scratching or whatever. He does what works for him. There is no “best” way. I use both but with a pressure washer you are doing to get in places to get dirt out where a rinseless can’t touch and that’s a fact. I will say though a detail keg is awesome! One thing is I will never use a sponge like that. It’s all based on opinion.

@@amounifnd Bilt Hambers products do NOT hurt proper LSPs. Especially their Touchless presoak which has slightly better cleaning power then autofoam. Yvan, why are you using a drying aid when the rinseless already acts as a lubricant for the towel? Water is a solvent, but the rinseless is lubricious I thought? Or is it because you are using it to remove the polymer spots that dried since you washed the entire car first before drying? I wash the roof, then dry, then the hood, then dry, etc., so don’t experience that spotting

My new tesla sets in my carport here in the desert and after two days it is very dusty. Every four days or so I pull out my 1600psi pressure washer and spray it off with a fine mist, then totally foam it, then rinse it. Dry it with a drying agent. Works perfect every time. @@jesusgaona5189 I am using the smallest pressure washer I can get. Also chemical guys foam cannon soap. So the car sits in a carport here in the desert where we get high winds. Then rinse it with a soft spray with the pressure. Once all the soap is off I blow all water off with an EGO blower. Then I go over the whole car with Technicians Choice Ceramic Detail Spray. The car looks perfect after this. With how much dust/sand is on the car, putting that no rinse on would do nothing but make little mud balls....a real mess.
