Maybe *these* blue macaws, but others like the Hyacinth macaw and Lear’s macaw are still around. Additionally, the Spix’s maxaw is only extinct in the wild, not completely. It’s still horrible that they’ve gotten to the point of being extinct in the wild, but there’s still some hope.

Jewel meanwhile is more self-centered, tough, ill-tempered and has toxic relationships with others even with her own family and friends than Nick is and is deemed an anti-hero 100% as a result of this. Jewel and her father Eduadro were both prejudiced against humans for destroying half of the Amazon rainforest that they and their Spix’s macaw flock lived in via deforestation and killed Jewel’s mother and Eduardo’s wife before Jewel and Eduardo got separated and Jewel was captured by Tulio and some ornithologists and taken to the Centro do Conservacao Ambiental in Rio De Janeiro before she met Blu and in Rio (2011) although Jewel and Blu’s relationship was toxic at first they soon fell in love got married moved into the Blu Bird Sanctuary in Rio and had three kids Tiago, Bia and Carla. But Jewel despite now having a family that cared for her deeply selfishness and prejudice towards humans for her mother’s death and preference to live as an exotic bird and not a domesticated one remained, as in Rio 2 (2014) she got mad at Blu and her kids Tiago, Bia and Carla for making pancakes and for becoming domesticated like humans and for using human tools and traits and later suggested they abandon their human roots and return to the Amazon rainforest away from human civilization and live lives as exotic birds again and while Tiago, Bia and Carla are happy over this Blu is

uncertain due to him being a domesticated bird raised by the human Linda but Jewel pressures him into going along. Although Bia, Carla and Tiago and Blu go to the Amazon rainforest they bring to Jewel’s disapproval some human traits and tools including a fanny pack full of tools for Blu. When Blu, Jewel, Bia, Carla and Tiago plus Rafael, Pedro and Tico arrive in the Amazon rainforest Jewel reunites with her father Eduardo and childhood friend Roberto and paternal aunt Mimi and Eduardo mets his son-in-law Blu and grandchildren Carla, Bia and Tiago for the first time but Jewel and Eduardo still being anti-human, preferring to live lives as exotic birds and being slightly selfish in that sorta matter had Nico give up his bottle cup hat forcing Nick to find him a new hat from nature and Jewel and Roberto had Bia, Carla and Tiago give up their human tools and traits and live as exotic birds too even though they did actually love it unaware of the mother’s selfishness. Eduardo and Jewel even made them serve their connections to their human friends, Linda, Tulio and Ferando. but Blu had the hardest time adjusting to living as an exotic bird in the Amazon rainforest despite all the training he received from Eduardo due to being a domesticated bird not raised by Linda in Minnesota and continued to rely on his own human tools not wanting to give them up quite yet. Blu accidentally losing a ball game causing

the Spix’s macaws to lose their brazil nut grove to the scarlet macaws caused Blu to realize that he won’t easily adjust to the Amazon due to his domestication like his family is doing And suggested that they return home to Rio until he adjusts but Jewel coldly tells Blu that he should stop thinking about himself without taking a moment to realize that she pressured him into going to the Amazon in the first place and almost causing Blu to wrongfully leave his human roots behind and end his relationship with his human foster mother Linda believing he is doing it for the sake of his family when he in reality is giving into Jewel’s selfishness towards him but Blu learning of the loggers’ plan to deforest the Amazon causes him to snap out of it.

So basically in conclusion, Nick Wilde is portrayed as a sly fox not letting people see that they get to you but also well-meaning and a former con artist turned police officer while Jewel is portrayed as a human prejudiced macaw and selfish jerk, anti-hero with barely any character development and treats her husband alongside her father as butt monkeys. Judy and Blu are also portrayed as optimistic heroic protagonists by heart that will do anything for their friends and family. But Jewel’s character arc and relationship with Blu and character development plus character flaw caused by a tragic moment in her life is very much similar to Judy and Nick from the Zootopia franchise and Poppy and Branch from the Trolls franchise but it was poorly executed, even to the point where Jewel and Eduardo just because of her prejudice towards humans due to the loss of Jewel’s mother and Eduardo’s wife and preference to live as exotic birds instead become straight up butt monkeys and selfish jerks to Blu, Carla, Tiago and Bia and anti-heroes outshining all the good qualities that traditional anti-heroes like Shrek, Han Solo, Deadpool and Venom have and actually among the unlikeable ones alongside Manny and Sid from Ice Age: Continental Drift (2012) and Ice Age: Collision Course (2016). At least, Nick and Judy’s relationship and character arcs from the Zootopia franchise and Poppy and Branch’s from the Trolls franchise and their relationships with their families and ups and downs are actually executed much better than Jewel and Blu’s from the Rio franchise for three reasons: 1. Nick doesn’t treat Judy as a butt monkey especially when he and Judy have disagreements and the same goes for Judy the same also goes for Poppy and Branch. 2. Nick and Judy don’t pressure themselves into doing stuff they don’t want to do and apologize to each other for the mistakes they make and how they accidentally mistreat each other. (Jewel didn’t bother to apologize to Blu and her kids Tiago, Carla and Bia for her behavior when she needed to do it.) 3. Judy’s family including her parents Bonnie and Stu get along with Nick just fine and the same goes for Nick’s parents with Judy as opposed to how cruel Eduardo was to Blu in Rio 2 and Jewel foolishly not taking responsibility towards it, well kind of. Nick and Judy more importantly don’t even act mean and cruel plus selfish towards each other and the same goes for Poppy and Branch.

They havent explored every corner of the place to actually prove that, they just assume it's that way for not seeing the species in the wild for awhile.

job she enjoyed as a police officer Nick makes up for his earlier behavior by standing up to Bogo not caring about the water buffalo judging him for being a red fox like the scouts did in his childhood and convinced him to give Judy a second chance to solve the case and Bogo agreed and later after Nick told Judy his tragic backstory Judy became empathic and sympathetic enough to advise Nick to prove to the world he is so much more that what other people think his species is and join his dream jobs and follow his life goals because the consequences he will face and what other people say about it like she did and Judy’s advise caused Nick to become more optimistic, heroic, easygoing and selfless plus caring and vowed to join his dream careers and jobs and follow his life goals despite the consequences he will face and being judged by others for his species. (I even bet in Zootopia 2 or Zootopia 3 Nick having got married to Judy and had two red fox children and two gray rabbit children and one fox and rabbit hybrid child with her, will become an adult counselor in the Junior Ranger Scouts with his kids also becoming members of it until Nick mets the anti-heroic woodchuck bully named Fred among one of the bullies who humiliated Nick at the Ranger Scouts now also a grown-up gotten married to a beaver and had beaver and woodchuck sons and daughters of his own also now a grown-up counselor in the

Ranger Scouts causing the feud between Nick and Fred to re-emerge until Fred realizes the error of his ways and reforms after being given advice from his wife and kids and reconciles with Nick accepting him as a ground-up counselor in the Ranger Scouts and his kids as members too just like how Gideon Gray, Judy’s childhood bully reconciled with Judy in Zootopia.) and at the end of Zootopia, he even joins the Zootopia Police Department and becomes Judy’s partner and police coworker and the first red fox police officer with a new life goal to end segregation and discrimination between different animal species living around the world not just in Zootopia but also Zoo York City and Rio Deer Janerio and try to make the world a better place.

He was taken from his home by wildlife traffickers when he was just a hatchling and ended up in Minnesota, Linda found Blu when she was young and took him in and raised him through the years.
