Tbf vidic and ferdinand were two of the best centre backs in Europe for the best part of 10 years...stam was phenomenal for united and Milan as well. Bar kompany I think ferdinands 5 picks are the best on that list.

Vidic was better than Ferdinand, absolute beast. Adams is surely top 2 of last 30 years . The disrespect to him is unbelievable. Jaap stam overall was the Best of the bunch but didn't play long enough in the PL as compared to others. Terry as a player, captain and achievement wise has to be in top 3 ( even first , it would be hard to argue against) Sol Campbell was top tier and was the best defender in the league when he joined Arsenal, again the disrespect towards him is mad, people act like as if he was Carraghers level , they don't know football at all or haven't watched him play and defend. Rio Ferdinand is most overrated of the lot. It's actually sickening how overrated he is. He's not even top 3 in PL era for united let alone overall.

Rio and Campbell was far better. Terry never looked entirely comfortable playing for England, especially behind a midfield 2 of often lampard and gerrard who were both attacking midfielders. It was also frustrating that Terry came back into the team after injury for ledley King after he had kept Henry quiet. Terry looked jittery and lost postiga against Portugal. Terry was an excellent defender but needed the right system around him more than Rio, King or Campell
