yes modric is very very good, but u a real madrid fan, how can u say that modric was the best? u know damn well how many great ones real madrid had in every position... regardless one player that i always loved, and played for real, and is very underrated, was Guti, that guy had a class, and a vision that no one else had man, he in his prime would destroy defenses only with a pass, true playmaker

@@ReactRapTuga I adored Guti as a player and even took had his name as my nickname cos of my playing style but honestly Modric is a more complete player due to his work rate and being two footed. Guti was a great playmaker but most coaches preferred him coming in as a sub cos he didn’t have a complete midfielders work rate.

Only Real Madrid fans and probably true La Liga fans understand what a giant Luka Modric is. And it's not like only in 2018 he had a great year. He was pretty much the best midfielder for 4-5 years up till that point. Passing, Control, Attacking and Defensive ability and I can't even begin to describe how skillful he is. And sure the World Cup helped him win the Ballon'd'OR. But why shouldn't it. He captained a team like Croatia to the World Cup finals with so many MOM performances and won the Golden Ball. That's the same reason Cannavaro won it in 2006 and not Zidane. Iam a Ronaldo fan and yes it did feel bad that he couldn't win in 2018, but no one can say Modric didn't deserve it. If anyone says that, it only showcases their lack of understanding of the game overall and is also a disrespect.

They were playing best football that ive seen in madrid with 4 in midfield kroos- modric-isco-james and in attack benzema ronaldo and when modric got injured with national team it all fell apart.

Lol Zidane would not work as well in a midfield 3 with Pirlo, he does not cover enough ground and defensive work, I think Zidane is a 10 and if one wants Zidane in then replace Kaka, but I prefer Kaka in his prime.

Also not to discredit Owen, but he won the ballon d'or over the likes of Raul, Thierry Henry, Bergkamp, Kluivert, even Puskas never got a Ballon d'Or in that way. Does that mean, according to your logic, all those players are automatically worse than him?

Modric is amazing but that doesn't make him as good as Xavi and Iniesta. He can be an all time great and still not be the greatest of all time. There's very few players in the modern game ahead of him - Xavi, Iniesta, Zidane, Platini and Matthaus are the only ones that stand out to me. After that Modric has as good a claim as any.

@@HansBernd180 Zidane could play right in the centre of midfield and had done so on many occasions. Zidane was that good he could play anywhere on the pitch. Pirlo on the other hand was not able to play anywhere. Pirlo was a fantastic player but not at the level of Zidane, Maradona, Pele, Beckenbauer or Cruijff. I could imagine any of the above players anywhere in the attacking set up and still being the best on the pitch but I could not imagine that with Pirlo.
