We were lucky, our guide George was very informative and passionate about the caves. I liked the lunch it was authentic, looked the same as yours. The most memorable excursion we have done. Thanks for making this, great video!
Mexico is high on my wish list and therefore adding Rio Secreto too as there is so much to do here. I would love to take this beautiful day trip from Playa Del Carmen.
Thanks for this great video. I just booked my spot for this experience. I was a little worried if I made the right choice. After watching your video I definitely feel I will enjoy it very much. Thank you!
We just did an excursion at Rio Secreto. Wow amazing experience for sure. Helmet, wet suit, wet shoes, life jacket and head light included. Some areas are over 20 feet deep. Definitely worth the experience, Also you cannot take any cameras while in the cave.
Yes we mentioned in our video you cannot take a camera. So many people have commented on that & have been pretty upset but apparently they didn’t watch our entire video 🤣
@@scottsdaletravelchick $30 bucks for one ! Yes lol. The exp was so fun I wanted a digital memory . You would think you’d get a print out too like back in the day.
You have to wear lifejackets in the cave. Very safe. Guide is with you the whole time. It will be an incredible excursion - something you will never forget.
Thanks for including the info that we can’t take our own GoPro on the water side. I would have been super upset had I paid the full price then been told I couldn’t capture my own memories.
That is what stops me from even doing it. It won’t mean the same to me to not have a physical memory I took through my own perspective. Someone else photographing me and the caves just not the same. I will consider but that makes it harder
I saw this recently featured on the Discovery World Channel. They had mentioned that the public only gets to see 10% of the cave system and the other 90% is closed, even with the "Privilege" package. It looks absolutely amazing, but, did they provide any insight as to why you can never see most of the cave system?
Hi Daniel. I think it is just time of the tour. 99% of tourists probably do not want to spend hours upon hours underground, no matter how cool it is. 2-3 hrs is enough (remember there are not bathrooms or food or water to drink).
nice video... I have two questions I hope you can answer - do they provide water shoes and I've read that ALL jewelry must be removed, I'm a widower and I have a very-very small hoop earring that's hard to remove by myself, would that be allowed? thank you, Frank
They provide water shoes, and they do clean them however it did make me kinda sick to my stomach thinking about putting on shoes that 1000's of people have put their foot in. Actually I don't know about the jewelry - I think their main concern is that they don't want to be responsible if you lose it. Overall its a really cool experience and should not be missed!
Really want to visit it with my 10 yo. But has to keep my 3 yo company so probably I will just wait outside while my husband takes my 10 yo to the cave. Sad.... hope they can offer some babysitting services.
They do give you life jackets, there are some areas that you cannot touch the bottom. If there are people in your group that could help the person that might be good.
