The best rivalry in history ending 😭😭😭😭 StarComm vs RWR had some LEGENDARY battles for 33rd position on a weekly basis

Still can't believe they ever got rid of Landon. Landon Cassill: King of the backmarkers. Took care of equipment, raced smart, always wanted to perform well but safe. Him and Parker Kligerman both deserved better opportunities, but thankfully they're both still quite young. Another 15 years of competitiveness if they get the right ride.

They always had such beautiful cars. Yellow and black. Yellow and blue. Orange and blue. Gorgeous throwbacks. And although Quinn Houff is terrible, that dump at Martinsville was sweet.

It took Quinn Houff nearly the entire 2020 season to pass Kyle Larson in points. 😐

He's improved a little bit. No wonder StarCom is shutting down. Houff was no where near ready for a Cup Series ride.

I got a starcom shirt and hat in 2019 at the NY auto show, got a hero card signed by Landon, talked to Ryan Pistana about the paint schemes, and they even gave my friend and I a first look for the scheme they were gonna use at Talladega (it wasn’t public yet). I made a scheme on Forza that was based on their 2017 scheme, and I’ve used it heavily in leagues.

You gotta remember that we need teams like this. There always has to be somebody that finishes last and you can't change that. It's why Rick Ware doesn't care what anybody says and loves the fans he has.

I love how Blaney wasn’t laughing while they were ripping on Cope. That dudes class knows no bounds.

I can't wait for all the Quin Houff throwbacks 20 years from now. They never ran worth a lick, but it was always very fun and comforting to know they were back there. R.I.P, Starcom.

If they kept Landon Cassill, I think StarCom would have had a much more respectable resume. Oh well, at least we got Michael Cosey Jr. to carry on the legacy of StarCom Racing! 💁‍♂️

Starcom could've been good, but they hired Quinn Houff, which has awful results. I would've liked to see Landon Cassill stay with the team, and move Houff to Rick Ware.

I will honestly miss that team. Houff outperformed in garbage Xfinity series cars. Love him or hate him you have to admit that he got screwed by NASCAR at the 2021 Daytona 500 because they didn't throw the caution for debris

This is the story of a man who with little experience was summoned by StarCom racing to compete in the Nascar Cup Series Full Time, with tracks and situations he's never dealt with in his 20 years as human. -Pandemic shuts down all practice, so basically his first time on the track is when the green flag waves, and he's surrounded by 39 other cars which are way faster than him, going 150 mph, and sometimes faster. -Daytona 2020, turned for no apparent reason by Aric Almirola, he was running in the top 15 at times in his first time on a superspeedway. -Phoenix 2020, mechanical issues causing crash. -Darlington 2020, mechanical issues. -Texas 2020, running on fumes, spotter said he was clear, crew told him last second to come in to the pits, and his left rear view mirror fell off earlier. (Also accidents happen, forgive him.) -Daytona 2021, in the draft, in 22nd and runs over William Byron's hood. -Daytona Road Course 2021, Mechanical issues. -Bristol Dirt 2021, Cody Ware Crashes himself and Quin, and yet Quin still finishes 25th. -Talladega 2021, Tire goes down ending his race. -Austin 2021, B.J. McLeod turns him, leaving him stranded with a stalled engine ending his race. -Sonoma 2021, Engine issues. -Nashville 2021, Tire comes off on first lap sending him into the wall. -New Hampshire 2021, Gives Ryan Newman plenty of space on the outside he turns him for no reason. (Newman has no excuse) -Road America 2021, Turned by Cody Ware. -Indianapolis 2021, Avoids all the chaos and is running 19th, until Alex Bowman turns him when their both on the lead lap. (Hack) -Daytona 2021, Roof hatch comes off at the beginning of race and he goes 39 laps down. -Texas 2021, Suspension broke after masterfully avoid first lap crash. -Bristol 2021, Two tires go down causing him to crash. -Martinsville 2021, Josh Bilicki drives straight into to him. (Love how Quin finally started standing up for himself :) -Phoenix, Tire goes down causing crash. Not counting ordinary crashes that just come with racing. Still managed to do better than all the other Rick Ware cars both years except Brennan Poole in 2020. Next to no experience, yet 2 late model wins in his one year in the sport. How about instead of literally sending awful threats to him and his family, how about we give him a little grace. We would want it too.

True story: I was in Daytona in 2019, and after the duels I walked across the street to BJs Brewhouse. I noticed the guys to my left were all wearing Star Comm Racing shirts, and true enough, Landon was sitting two bar stools away from me. We spoke for a few minutes, and I was blown away with how friendly he is. It turns out, he used to live less than a mile from where I went to college in Charlotte! Hate to see a small team close

As a follower/fan of StarCom Racing since the beginning, It's very heartbreaking to see this team gone but I know they'll live on in history with Windvow8820 and my heart as well. I won one race flying their colors as well, at Darlington on Nascar '15 in the league I still compete in to this day NOSSCAR. Led the race after a early caution on lap 10 of 73 and also my HUD quit working (it wasn't on my screen) so I was basically driving blind and came around and won the event by almost a lap. That win was one of my 5 wins that season as I won the title by having the most poles. Because 1st and 2nd were tied on wins, top 5s, top 10s, points, and it came down to poles and if that was tied, it would've been a 1v1 race for the title but thankfully it didn't come down to that.

I think it's funny how everybody is complaining about Houff and being a bad driver. Maybe we didn't watch the same video but most of the video clips show Houff being sucked into accidents and taken out by other drivers.

The one thing I'm confused by: they sell the charter but they have Next Gen stuff and participated in the test at the Roval. Its also been reported that they could possibly show next year. I'm just gonna wait until they make an announcement of closure. Update: They made it official today. StarCom Racing has gone the way of the Dodo

I think StarComs death nail decision was signing Quin Houff full time for 2020 and 2021. He only had a few starts in the Cup Series and was not ready for a full time ride

Starcom should have honestly got a veteran driver who brought some sponsorship to help development but they chose a guy who hit his peak in 1990, that was probably the worst decision possible for a team just starting out and then they get a guy who had no prior Nascar experience, I'm shocked that the team stayed around this long with the very questionable driver choices

One thing SCR did right was their paint schemes. I follow their designer on instagram and his work is really nice. I especially liked their 2018/19 patriotic schemes.

As a fan of NASCAR in the 90s, I hated hearing all those current stars making fun of Derrike Cope.

A shame, always thought the 00 looked great. Would have been nice to see them stick around even if Quinn isn't much of a driver.

NOTE They *might* go part time next season, I'm hearing that is.

In 2019 my Dad surprised me by connecting with someone to get my name on the 00 car for the Coke Zero Sugar 400. We got to go into the garage and meet Derrike Cope and hung out with the team for the weekend. Landon Cassil even almost won the race, he had a fast car and had it not been for coming in for a pitstop with Kurt Busch, StarCom would have a win under their belts. To this day, we still call back to that day where we came so close to winning at Daytona. It's been rough to see how poorly this team has done since 2019, and now knowing that they're not returning in 2022 makes me kinda sad. Thanks for the memories StarCom Racing.

Gray Gaulding being my favorite driver, and this being my favorite backmarker team, I always wished there was more for the both of them.

Kinda sad.. I drive by their small shop in Spencer, NC pretty frequently. I wonder what will happen to their equipment (haulers etc)

I do feel bad for Cope and I have a lotta good stories with him. He spent a good amount of time with my daughter in 2014 and they talked about the Skittles car and my daughter became a fan for life. But yes, Derrike needs to walk away..

This sucks derrike cope is one the coolist nicest guys you'd ever meet. I met him at Milwaukee in the mid 2000s. I wasn't a fan of his till I met him. Derrike cope is a first class kinda guy
