Good video. I’ve been shooting the VAP TKO’s this past year. I’ll probably try the RIP TKO’s this year. VIDEO IDEA🎥: get a couple Elite shafts (.001 straightness) get a couple Sport shafts (.006 straightness) cut a couple inches off both ends, do the spin test & compare. Then build them up exactly the same & shoot them to see if the Elites actually shoot better than the Sports. Thx MFJJ
Totally agree. Love Victory mainly for their components. I think the RIPs are easier to tune than the VAPs, so I choose RIPs. Also the "ICE" coating on all the TKO arrows makes it easier to pull out of targets. I only wish these came with the stainless inserts.
I love these arrows..I'd been using many different arrows for over 20 years and finally built a dozen of these cut to 28'' with the 75gr up front and three vane X3s at 3deg. 476gr with a 100gr BH... PERFECT ARROW
Just built a dozen of these for my new Arrows this year. Sitting at 503 grains using the steel 60 grain insert with a 125 grain point. Unfortunately i can't cut them down due to having a 31 1/2 inch draw.
I love the Victory RIP TKO. I just put in a decent order to stock my shop for spring. We just got in some of the new G5 arrows as well at my shop. They look very similar to the Victory TKO arrows, but the .203 dia shafts use a bushing and reduce the nock to a pin nock or G nock. I'm not a fan of the G nocks for hunting. Plus the 350 spine in the G5 is 10.1 gpi. I was only able to test out a 1/2 dz of factory fletched G5, still waiting for the bare shafts. I'll look forward to your thoughts on the G5 shafts when you can get some.
What is your bow set up? Trying to decide on .250 or .300s I’m shooting a Mathews vxr at 72lbs and a 28.5 inch draw length. I like my arrows a bit on the longer side to get fixed blade broad heads away from my fingers
@@Boatflipit i shoot a Prime Inline 5 82 lbs at 29.5 draw length. With the victory Vap 250 with 45 grsin insert and 125 grain tip about 28 shaft length 475 grains total im borderline underspined. I haven't built the Rip Tkos yet but when i do it will be about 28.5- 29 inch shaft, 50 grain titanium insert from podium archer, 125 grain tip. At your draw length and weight i think that you can use the 300 spine but if your worried about leaving the shaft longer then get the 250s. I That might be the set up that Dan @ elk shape has with the 300 spine, 50 grain titanium insert and a 125 point. Either way I'm sure if you call these guys at podium archer they can steer you in the right direction. I like to run on the stiffer side.
@@christiantorres6118 awesome thanks for the reply. I feel like I should be able to get away with .300 spine also I just don’t want to end up with 200 bucks worth of arrows and be underspined. I’ll give them a call.
Just built a set of Elites to hunt with from you guys. These shafts are straight! Maybe had one with a slight wobble on the spin tester. Fixed it with my squaring tool (also from you guys!). Weight was near identical down to the 100th. Also, shipping was quick and got to Hawaii in three days. Mahalo MFJJ! Gonna order another set of Gamers this time around for target shooting. ***Easton Axis 5mm 300spine is 10.7gpi and a little thicker compared to RIP TKOs.
I loved these arrows until I shot fixed blades… they just wouldn’t tune so I went with the 300 spine in a black eagle rampage and straight darts with the same weight set up. I had to nock tune all of them but it was well worth the work. Funny thing is I tuned a buddy of mines bow and he bought these from me and had no problem lol. I’ve often wondered if the spine was just on the edge even at a 300 spine for my setup whereas the 300 black eagles were maybe stiffer albeit the same spine 🤷♂️.
The exact arrow I have. Really do like these arrows, I have always wondered how accurate the spine alignment is on these. That being said, these are awesome arrows and tough as nails.
All I know is the nocks that came on my 4mm victory’s where absolutely way too tight on my v3x the would pull out of the arrow when on the bow. But the shafts where good. Now I moved over to the Gt airstrikes and will be rolling with those this season.
I shoot the Rip xv elites. 300 spine 7.1gpi 28.5” carbon to carbon 24 grain lighted knock 18 grains of fletchings 140 of ethics outsert and a 125 grain tip. Comes out to 509-510 total at just over 20% foc. So far they hold up really well the only broke ones have been from a deer stepping on it after it went through another deer.
This will take time but would be SICK! Test the new Gas Pro NACA vanes vs whatever you guys think is the best. The NACA's are pretty slick. Designed to spin left with no helical. Up to 400% more rotation. Hooter shooter 100 yards!!!!!! DOOO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s what i went with last year and they were sweet! Straight out of the box…no wobble. Btw, re: spine alignment…..i had one arrow that was not marked right. Rotated the arrow 1/4 turn and it was good
Definitely will be my go again this year hands down kills & shoots great weather I am shooting 359’s or 300’s depending on draw weight and animal as well!!!!
I looked on the Podium website for the podium inserts for the RIP TKO's Dan from Elk shape mentioned, when will these be available for purchase? Keep up the great content!
MFJJs titanium insert/outsert has the same OD as RIP TKO. You can also use Gold Tip traditional inserts or their .204 Airstrike Ballistic inserts as well.
These arrows, their SS inserts and TAC Driver vanes are a great set up. The TAC Drivers are a little lighter than most vanes, so you can drop some weight and increase FOC.
@@mitchimal nice to hear I wanted to switch up from my blazers this year with this exact arrow. Do you shoot fixed blades? The TAC drivers steer alright?
Try an Easton Brass insert. Weighs 75 grains. Gets you a little more FOC and you can run it with a sleeve to get even more FOC and protects the end of the arrow shaft.
Outside of all those qualities that you mentioned the other reason why they are your best seller is because one of your best friends in Dan from @elkshape has been using those and promoting them for 2-3 years now. I actually got a dozen of the Gamer level ones which are the .003 straightness level ones for about $159 a dozen. I had them cut at Cabelas and I forgot to tell them not to glue in the SHOK inserts. I wanted to add 20 grains to the back of 6 of them or buy your titanium inserts and glue them in myself. I really like them and hopefully I can get a turkey 🦃 this spring and some deer 🦌 this fall since I struck out last year 😎🏹
I shoot these with an easton 75 grain brass insert and a 25 grain sleeve with a 125 grain broadhead. With a wrap, veins and nocturnal im right around 550 grains.
This is so cool, was just looking for more info on these arrows, how do they come out if you use your titanium insert at 28in.. and lighted nock.. and witch lighted nock to use in them.. you know x nock or different
Mfjj do you recommend the rip tko over the rip xv from victory I ask because I was sold on the rip xv but looking for a change I think this hunting season
I'd like to see some videos that compare the ez fletch high helical vs bitz 2-3 degrees at that 100+ distances you see at TAC. Does too much helical at distance?
Love the channel! Excuse my ignorance. Why would I pick the RIP TKO over the RIP SS? Pros and cons to both? I’m a big picture guy. And the performance guide on their website is virtually identical with the RIP SS having a little higher rating for penetration… any info helps
Ya don’t trust the spine align on the shaft 3 out of my 12 arrows were accurate according to that. Other than that my favorite arrow I run these and won’t be changing anytime soon
Anyone else have single speaker issues when using headphones on these videos ? I noticed the intro is working with headphones but some of the videos lately for me and single ear
To know if your limb bolts are the same. You turn the bolts all the down. Then the bow is maxed out. The bolts are the same. Then you can take a 1 turn at a time. To no how far your limb bolts are backed out.
@@liamboyle9199his right here. Max in (usually clockwise to get max poundage) and witness marks with a silver sharpie or white out. Then you can turn them out evenly.
I’m interested in these arrows, their spine chart is telling me .300. Every other spine chart tells me .250. 70/29.5 30” arrow 50 gr insert 100-150 gr head, will I be ok with .300 spine?
Hands down amazing arrows. I use these for white tail deer and haven’t broke one yet. Actually spit a small tree during a pass through and no splintering.
I believe he means shoot the cheaper, not as straight, shafts with field points, and shoot the straight shafts with broadheads. A lot of people shoot fixed heads, and that is when your shaft needs to be perfectly straight. If the arrow has wobble the fixed blade (wings on the front of your shaft) with steer your arrow.
Hi Josh/ what is the full length of the shaft- there website shows 31 in for the full length shaft- if that is the case 283g average weight yields 9.12gpi not 8.8.
Mathews should make a bow ,,, just like the v3x 33 with the lower poundege ,,, 45 -55,,, ,,, why did they shorten up the Image ,, ATA ,,, or are they waiting tell next year to do it ?? A perfect bow would be a v3x 34 with an " 34 ATA" ,, and a draw # of 45-55 ,,,, I would buy one tomorrow ,,,
I agree the fletching and broadhead make a difference. I also think a heaver arrow makes the initial sound of the bow less as well I’d like to see both.
Pls, you fixed the sounds but now again every video has audio only on left channel, thats really really hard to listen with headphones. I hope you fix it again, ask help from elk shape, not difficult to fix.
So If you have not called the podium archery shop, you must call after business hours and press option 3 to complain about a RU-vid video, you'll thank me later LMAO😂😂😂
