Maradona is the most talented player ever because he had an incredible Touch for the Ball. If you have such an intense feel for the ball you not only control the ball, you control also the game and your opponents. And this feeling for the ball is not located in his left foot as you might think. Its absorbed in his central nervous system. As you could easily observe in his training sessions he could play the ball with any part of his body (head, shoulder, chest, neck, etc.). Look at the artistic and daring skills in this video. His biggest problem however was at times his non-professional attitude and as a result of that his physical weakness towards the end of his career.
MARADONA HAD MORE SKILL THAN THE NEXT 10 BEST PLAYERS PUT TOGETHER, THAT'S HOW SKILLFUL HE WAS, AND HE ALSO HAD THE AMAZING SPEED TO GO WITH HIS UNRIVALLED SKILL. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO WATCH MAJORITY OF HIS MATCHES LIVE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY BRILLIANT PLAYERS BUT ONLY 1 TRUE GENIUS AND THAT IS MARADONA. NO ONE ELSE COMES EVEN CLOSE TO HIM
El mejor de todos los tiempos es Maradona! Como admiro su técnica es una especie de regate de Messi con improvisación de Ronaldinho y su liderazgo en momentos importantes. Es la mejor combinación que puede existir y que un futbolista puede tener!
When we compare the greatest players I ask you to consider one thing only. How many times in his videos do you see him doing something you've either never seen done or something that only a very select few are capable of? Then you realise that to do these bizarre moments of sorcery AS OFTEN AS HE DID, you have to admit, he's on a level no one can match.
Reading some of the comments, I see the money driven media moguls have brainwashed the Messi fanboys into thinking he is the best. It simply wouldn't be profitable if he wasn't known as the best. The simple fact is that Diego Maradona is the greatest footballer to have lived.
Maradona played in a time when your whole leg is part of the ball and still dominated ... today a breeze can knock payers over ... if Maradona were playing now Messi would be on the bench and C ronaldo peeling Oranges
+Jack Harper Hey wassup polish gay...?...Don't insult or you'll get insulted.Just do like everybody does.If you don't like Maradona don't watch the videos.I don't like Zidane and i don't watch the videos...and by the way i don't insult who likes him.Simple as that...
Freestyle hace cualquiera, hasta un ponja...El mérito es hacerlo en un partido por los puntos contra tipos de 1,8 y 1,9 m de alto, dejándolos en ridículo total!!! Barrilete Cósmico; de qué planeta viníste????
we have Messi, we have Ronaldo, we have Ronaldo ( the fenomal ) ,we have Romario, we have Ronaldino, we have Neymar ecc...ecc. . but none of them can come near to this guy. I dont think there is going to be another player like Maradona in history of football, and I am not an Napoli fan.
+ Jack Harper look kid zidane is a great but among the greats he is ranked maybe 6th or 7th in my opinion he is not at maradona level. if your going to respond, then respond with a clear argument not stupid fanboy reasoning.
I've seen it bro and yeah just one of many videos showing other legends admiring maradona talent. the problem lies with these fanboys who can't look at stuff withought being biased.
+Getacutab Maradona made Napoli soccer team well known in Italy. All of the italians says a Neapolitan isn't italian. They're all racist against Neapolitans. And in 90 World Cup in the match against Italy all Neapolitans sings against Italy. That kind of miracle could be made only by San Gennaro and Maradona...the only difference is that San Gennaro doesn't know how to play soccer.
+Getacutab Good work son...made a lot of copypaste (with a lot of grammatical errors) but nothing came out of your head.Where are you from by the way...
+nabil libre That's the truth... I'm a Marado and had been a Marado for so long, but i gotta admit that what Ronaldinho did at his peak was unreal and still not matched til this day...
@v x the best players he saw was Romario and Zidane, wtfff they are great but Ronaldo Nazario is better than this 2, Messi, Maradona, Pelé, there are better players in the history than Zidane and Romario, and Zidane was better than Romario for me but they are great of course, greetings from argentina.
and i thought dinho was the most entertaining. i guess it was right that dinho said he grew up watch maradona. And RIP to those ppl who think messi is better than this monster. i still imagine what if he had the height of cr7,but still he was able to do everything on the pitch THE BEST AND COMPLETE PLAYER EVER DIEGO MARADONA.
The most complete is Pele & majority of the stuff you saw Diego do in the video was against trash teams, still not denying he is the greatest along with Pele. Complete footballer = Dribbler + Playmaker + Goal Scorer + Great Header + 2 footed + Skillful + Natural Born Leader = PELE O REI!! Still though Maradona was so good & great that he is the only footballer in history worthy enough to be compared to Pele...for me both are the Eternal Legends!!
What Maradona did was amazing with Napoli but Maradona's plus is that he played in Europe and that's why he's got this recognition, we also need to remember that he never really hit it off at Barcelona and you can even say he was a flop over their but when professional experts and historians are putting Pele above him then we have to take notice, even Argentine's put Pele above Maradona like Cesar Menotti who coached Maradona and Daniel Pasarella who was Maradona's team mate and the captain of the 1978 Argentina team.. You only have to see the facts and read what experts and historians say about who is the greatest, Pele received acknowledgement and applauds in a era where racism was the norm, to be label'd the greatest in that era c'mon he had to be something special. When FIFA put out a internet poll in 1999 on who is the greatest Maradona won that vote but do you know why FIFA vetoed the decision.. because majority of the historians and experts who had seen both Pele and Maradona play believed Pele was better and that it was unfair because the people who voted never really saw Pele play. For me when you look at stats facts read the views of historians and ex legends who have seen both Maradona and Pele play majority say Pele was better if not all. As i have aged and my knowledge on the game has evolved and when we look at a players attributes I without bias believe Pele was greater than Maradona because he was more complete because of their individual attributes and that's why i posted the above comment to make people see a player who has all these attributes in one, only Pele, their have been a few come close to him but no one has touched him yet.
+Bruce Lee and at Barcelona he ran into trouble, to start off Barcelona back then we're nothing compared to what they are now. they hadn't won the league in years since Cryuff was there. Maradona came at 21 and while there for only 2 seasons won the Copa del Rey and the Spanish super cup and all while he never got to play a full season while there because 1 season he got sick and got hepatitis, and the next he got injured and was out for months thanks to a broken ankle which was caused by a player from Atletico de Bilbao who he also started a fight with at the end of a Copa del Rey final which ended his time at Barcelona. and to add on to all that he had a terrible relationship with the clubs president at the time, and the Spanish were very hostile to say the least, they didn't particularly like South American players and treated Maradona quite harshly which all lead to him being targeted by teams like Bilbao who ended up breaking his ankle. I prefer Maradona but there isn't that much in it. Both have incredible technique. Pele is better as a goalscorer with far better shooting ability with both feet (Maradona's shooting is very one footed) and an outstanding header (Maradona was an excellent header of the ball but too short to ever be a serious threat). Maradona was much more skillful and an incredible creative force remains unmatched. It really depends what kind of player you prefer. Both were still good at everything anyway -Maradona scored great goals and Pele was a great playmaker.
should messi played in my era , he will be the guy who carrying my bag into the stadium - diego maradona i dont this words came frm diego or not. but its damn funy!!! but dude, its damn true too. maradona is the vito corleone of football. mesi is just enzo the baker of the tataglia family
0:15 no one in the world who has ever existed can stop the ball that way by keeping it attached to the foot that way is practically impossible unless you have a prehensile foot
The ball was launched 60 or more yards by the keeper, Maradona doesn't just pick it out the sky, he shields and moves his body in a way that the defender can't even work out where the ball is, what day of the week it is, what he had for breakfast or what he's doing standing on that pitch.
Man just juggles the ball while being tackled and still pulls of a killer pass truly amazing its a shame we only got to see a 50% of his potential due his drug addiction Im sure he would achieved another 2 WC and UCL with Napoli
+rm187loco very smart comment. Not many people have said what you just did. A lot of them wrongfully think his drug addiction helped him. Good to know some people still appreciate his magic
+rm187loco It's a shame we can only see some players with 50% of his skills, at most. No one like Diego, we'll never see something near to him. We did see it.
So many discussions about Messi and Maradona, about trophies and goals scored; we forgot that football is a team sport; if we list the 5 best teams ever, we could mention Real Madrid the end of 50's, Brazil on 60's which exploded on Mexico 70, Netherlands on 70's, Milan of Arrigo Sacchi and Guardiola's Barsa; we can be disagree probably and exchange one of them for the Cruyff's Dream Team, Brazil on latest 90's and beggining of 2000, etc; but for sure most of the people are agree on the first five teams i mentioned. Then if we list the best 5 players of the history, i think we are more than agree on, Distefano, Pele, Cruyff, Maradona and Messi; if we compare both lists; we can observe that Maradona doesn't belong to any of the teams i have mentioned, but the other four players do. So i believe, that we should value a player like Diego which is consider wit no doubt one of the best 5 players of the history, who never played on a great team like Diestefano (Real Madrid five champions league), Pele on Brasil during its best generation, Cruyff on the named Clockwork Orange and Messi on the Guardiola's Barcelona, during Maradona's time, Sacchi's milan was the best team, and one of the best teams ever with no doubt, and Diego confront it in many occassions, beat it a lot of times, even winning a Scudetto against them. We should value him, when nobody thought on Argentina to win in Mexico 86, proof of that is that Argentina on the next world cup, with a injured Diego (he was not even on his 60%), Argentina qualified to the final just by penalties, defending every game during 90 minutes, that Argentina team was very lucky in that world cup, they didn't deserve to qualified. Messi doesnt need to win a world cup to be better than Diego, i think if you are part of a short team, and you shine like Maradona did, means that he has somethjing different than others, i think is out of discussion, who is the best oplayer of the history.
Jorge Horna I remember the newspapers about his injuries very well prior 1990wc. Please also add Brazil 82 Dreams Team to teams. That is the most beloved team ever.
Correct. Most of the greats played in teams that where amongst the finest in history. Maradona never had that luxury and still won practically everything. That's the difference he elevated the good to great and average to brilliant.
I am old enough to remember him. I am from Ex Yugoslavia and he missed penalty in final shootout vs Us in 1990 in Italy. Unfortunately We lost. Maradona is the most talented player ever. Fucking period. Actually, I even remember 1986 match vs England. I watched it with my (now deceased) grandpa.
+Khaled Ibrahim 100% agree!!!! Messi fan boys need to see this! All you hear is Messi's from another planet.................The truth is, Maradona was on another planet that Messi hadn't seen!!!!!!!! I haven't seen half these passes from Messi............Messi might have the stats and the Ballon d'Or's, but you can't argue with GOD= D10S.......................The Greatest of all time!!!!!!
Football low have been changed to protect very talented players so if Messi had a tough tackling the player who made it to him must get a yellow card right away. watch Argentina vs Italy in 1982 world cup and see how many players in Italy supposed to get cards and watch Argentina vs South Korea in the 1986 world cup and tell me how many Korean players must get red cards for kicking Maradona.
we have Messi, we have Ronaldo, we have Ronaldo ( the fenomal ) ,we have Romario, we have Ronaldino, we have Neymar ecc...ecc. . but none of them can come near to this guy. I dont think there is going to be another player like Maradona in history of football, and I am not an Napoli fan.
I wish he hadnt got involved with drugs and other silly things. At his peak he was the best player to ever touch a ball, but he declined quicker than others. I cannot even imagine what he could have been.
