Fun Fact: Fans of KI deem this as the worst song, and hilariously enough, Mick Gordon himself admits that this is the worst track he's made for Killer Instinct, due to having to rush production, as Riptor was a little less than a month away from release. He has stated that if possible, he would have redone it. To me, it's still epic though.
I think it's pretty obvious that Mick uses a lot of real-life, cultural influence from all around the world for his themes (like the throat singing for Jago's theme and lyrics of multiple themes being sung in matching languages, like Japanese for Hisako, Greek for Aganos and Swedish for Spinal's); so when it comes down to make a theme for an engineered dinosaur, where do you get influence from? Jurassic Park? :S I do enjoy this theme.
They can suck a big willie, because i love this and it's perfect just they way it is or if they release the "better" version, so i could compare it and maybe then remove the quotation marks!
I'm 6 years late, but it's funny you say that. This track actually samples major musical cue from Aliens Vs Predator: Requiem. If you watch the film and listen to what plays when the Predator first meets the Pred × Alien hybrid in the sewers, this track literally uses that segment in the song verbatim. I feel Riptor and Glacius's relationship made that a deliberate gesture.
Mick Gordon was actually disappointed with this track because he rushed it. I kind of agree. It's intense in a similar manner of Jurassic Park, but if you think about it it's no more than a bunch of cues.
This is by far the least good theme in the entire soundtrack. Which says A LOT about KI's soundtrack, because it's still very good, it's just the other songs are far superior lol
