This Eid al-Fitr, Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad reminds us that unlike any other species in the world we are the only ones that can say no to our desires, as the month of Ramadan confirms. By rejecting ephemeral passions and worldly excesses we can and should rise above them.
Delivered at the Cambridge Central Mosque on 1 Shawwal 1440 / 4 June 2019.

I love this Man. So Transcended is his speech and rich vocabulary that he puts thousands of expressions, interpretations and insights into his 1 whole sentence. This Post Modern Era needs more scholars like him. Ya shykh, Ya Molana may Allah bless you always like this and keeps on sending precious souls like yours who light the darkness in our Hearts.

Why is there darkness in your heart? Have you not found Allah to enlighten you? This man has not relinquished his studies of alternative doctrines and is blending them in his interpretation of Islam. For instance, he belittles the animals, "who munch grass all day", and refers to us as humans, when Adam-kind is more appropriate.

This is a great man. I honestly can’t believe there is such a beautiful band peaceful soul like this. I had been watching all of his sessions and has changed my life and my view about life after I met other people on the other hand mess me up with fault stories and made me disbelieve. Best lecture ever heard in so many decades. This needs to be heard and reheard by the youth. Our youth can become stars and super stars of this century. By constantly accepting the right and rejecting the wrong like syedna Yousuf. Each one has a Yousuf within and others as the Imam has said. Subhanallah what a lecture. You have a Musa and a phirown within. May Allah give us and our Youth the strength and determination of Musa to defeat the phirown within us and outside us.

MashaAllah.. this kutbah is deep.. as I read the comments I’m glad that Muslims memorise the Quran so well that they could detect any mistakes made by reciter.

masha'Allah. A brilliant sermon from a brilliant scholar. May Allah bless him. Not that it is substantive to the content of the khutbah, but the verse he uses as the thesis of his sermon is based on a mistake made in quoting the verse: وَالَّذِينَ جَاهَدُوا فِينَا لَنَهْدِيَنَّهُمْ سُبُلَنَا ۚ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ لَمَعَ الْمُحْسِنِينَ he quoted more than once: وإن الله لمع الصابرين

Subhanallah with this kind of a teacher and of this kind of teaching, wonder how the entire Cambridge College did not en masse convert to Islam. If only they take the time to hear this brilliant man of God. Who has raised himself to this level of Contentment and Wisdom and Compassion and Empahthy. My guess is if only they take time to listen to him, there is no way they can stay away from Islam.

3:47 sūrat l-ʿankabūt 29:69 "And those who strive for Us - We will surely guide them to Our ways. And indeed, Allah is with the doers of good" ( small mistake at the end of the verse it is Allah is with the muhsin and not with those who have sabr)
