This company is known for focusing on gameplay more than the graphics. And the combat is way better than their last game but the parry mechanic is jankier which is just odd to me.
Bro, the characters aren’t really that simplistic they all have backstory as to why they are where they are, I just assume they don’t like the characters for who they are, which I can understand because most of not all of them have fatal flaws but also most of them wants what’s best for Japan in their eyes if that makes sense, he’ll I love most of the characters I’ve met so far. I think they should honestly do more side stuff it’s not just about the main quests.
Rise of the ronin is dope. And i appreciate the work team ninja put into it. You get used to the visuals and graphics. The fighting styles are dope. I love the spurting blood and poping heads. I really like that there are options to turn that stuff down if thats not really your thing. You can turn dismemberment off. Lower the blood etc. yeah the game is dope and i am enjoying it. Am interested in seeing where it all goes from here. I would say a solid 8 out of 10
@@josephobuck5409 lol well it's a guard system. So when you break the opponents guard by attacking and parrying. Their guard breaks and you get a critical. Which is when you basically finish lesser bad guys in one shot and that's when you get cinematic finishes and stuff. Depending on the stance and weapon you use the finishes are different
I’m 40 hours in and I’m pretty sure it’ll be my favorite game of 2024. My main complaint is the “easy” difficulty (dawn) is still pretty hard, in my opinion. The other thing is that there aren’t enough colorful female kimonos, but that’s just a minor issue. Gameplay is amazing.
@azrrrrrrrr ronin has difficulty settings and optional allies. If you want challenge play on the hardest difficulty without allies and it will be much harder than Nioh 2. With allies on the hardest difficulty, I think it's very similar in terms of difficulty. And on easy, it's a breeze no matter how under levelled you are
The graphics are great STILL. People act like Horizon didn’t exist on PS4. Graphics being good has a range, these graphics are still great. Just not ghost of Tsushima or horizon great. But even then, it’s pleasing to look at PERIOD.
"Genre in decline"? Isn't the open world sword and parry genre near the top, at the moment? My only problem with the game is that they refer to the player as them/they.
People compare team ninja games to other games too much which is a real shame. They don't give enough praise for how good the combat is and just write it off as a dark souls clone. I've seen some youtubers skip the tutorials because they think its the same as dark souls then they quit because the game is too hard.
I have DD2 and Ronin and i only have a few hours in DD2 and 50+ in ronin. DD2 combat is weak compared to ronin. You litterally just button mash 6 skills. You dont get punished for mashing and you cant even lock on to enemies in DD2 or block, no parrys unless you are a certain class and it only runs 30 to 45 frames on PS5. You need a good gaming pc to hit 100 frames at the moment. You play this ronin for the deep combat system and not the story. Most of the time im hitting skip when people are talking. Once i found the dojo i have been living there getting mastery on every enemy on twilight difficulty. If you like nioh 1 or 2 you will like this. I think they should of stayed with the mission style like in both niohs instead of an open world. The graphics could of been much better if it wasnt an open world but im still happy with how it is now. I hope they are planning DLC for it and TEAM NINJA PLEASE MAKE A NIOH 3 - NIOH 2 IS MY FAVORITE GAME OF ALL TIME!
Played Nioh 1, a mad fan of Way of the Samurai series, and saving up for Ghost of Tsushima. Why did i mention these? Because graphics and rendering dont matter to me, it's the freedom of versatile and explosive gameplay while having a story that drives my emotion strong while playing it. Also, Dark Souls 2 was incredibly hated and i love that game. Yes.. Rise of the Ronin is going in my list of games. :)
If this game had top notch graphics everybody would say this game is a serious Ghost rival but the core is still gameplay in the end and it is very fun to play
@@philpfaff79996 hours isn’t enough for this game because the combat is its crowning feature. The open world is least crowning feature but it’s still satisfying to move around, especially with the glider. You don’t like games fr lol Combat is literally next level. You only 6 boxes out of the 100 that were in the room with only 6 hours of gameplay lol You could even do dope as combos with the base stances and weapons they gave. I chose the Katana and got the oxtail, and I’ve been rocking those ever since. 28 hours in and I’m still coming up with new combos.
@@cortspadet combat is awesome, you´re right. The open world, meh graphics and weak story really kills it for me though. Problem might be that i played elden ring before this game. If this game wasnt open world i would like it alot more i think. Might try it in the future again.
7 hours in and I'm completely hooked, anyone ever play assasins creed and wish they did one with samurai? If you did, you got your wish, phenomenal game
Saying the protagonist isn’t interesting in a create a character game is braindead so Baldur’s Gate 3 has a boring protagonist as well with literally no personality outside of what you choose appearance wise and traits wise or Dragon’s Dogma is a bad game because the protagonist doesn’t have personality in an immersive RPG that is kinda the point of blank slate characters is that their personality is shaped by your choices lmao
That’s the main problem is that everyone wants it to be Ghosts of Tsushima that they don’t appreciate it’s for what it is. It’s a fun game with decent but not great graphics. My only critique is that you don’t get to name your character and you’re just called protagonist. But I’m otherwise having s blast playing it.
I wish the open world for co op wasn’t missionary based and they add more content . Clean up the graphics a little if possible this has game of the year potential . I can’t wait to see what this game will be like a month from now
To all the people skeptical on the game. Its really damn fun im gonna be honest im about 10 hours in and it is so much fun. Dont listen to any of the shitty reveiwers who say its bad. If you think it looks good give it a shot
I am OBSESSED with this game and i fell inlove with alot of the characters, dunno what these reviewers are talking about but i know they dont even play games
Game is super fireee! It’s not perfect and it could use some tweaks here and there. But that doesn’t take away from the overall experience. Not one bit!
I'm about halfway through Act 3, I've had great fun with the weapon variety, allies in missions, and character customization, but the side stuff and open world stuff has gotten samey and a little boring/tedious, so now I'm focusing on the story.
While Ghost of Tsushima is an action adventure that definitely the gold standard of samurai games this game actually gives you the full rpg experience with more weapon types, more gear, character customization, dialogue choices and a very nioh and wo long esque combat. These games are similar in the same way that the Witcher 3 and baldurs gate 3 are similar. it’s literally just the setting that similar.
Which genre is in decline? Open world is still heavily in demand and the Japanese setting had a lot of people excited. Do they just throw words together for articles and hope people are too stupid to piece it together
People talking about the graphics jus don’t understand it’s meant to be like that to fit the theme, it’s meant to be gritty and rigid that’s y there are visual settings to turn off those effects. I hate when people hate on something they don’t understand y’all are baby’s no cap, can never appreciate attention to detail. Plus if I’m not mistaken they did something very similar in all the ninja gaidens but who was complaining then, the gaming world is too soft nowadays😭😭🤣
I didn’t even know it was open world when I see ppl with usenames I have to save em and they fight like an npc only time I have played with real players is when I start up one of the missions but I must not know what do to any info would be helpful
"Victim of a genre in decline" ??? Umm what? Did they mean the action RPG genre because open world isnt a genre but i guess i cant expect these so called "journalists" to know the difference
I don’t let reviews get in the way. I preordered the game (knowing it’s from Team Ninja) and no regrets. The combat in this game is just pure action and will really test out your skills (not for casuals). The action and mechanics of this game makes Elden Ring look very simple and almost no learning curve. I just finished the game on Twilight mode (using a polearm). Now I am starting Midnight mode (with a paired swords). Love this game but this is just second best Team Ninja for me (Nioh 2 is still #1).
Honest review: as a rpg fan it’s scratching that itch. Im enjoying the play-though, playing all the missions/finding all the collectibles. People are not wrong about the poor graphics, but I’m not a stickler about that. My big complaint is the lack of interest in the characters especially the protagonist which leads to a lackluster story.
For me, the game it's being amaizing. The combat is solid, the characters are fun, i'm enjoying the story and it is not that visualy poor, irl looks quite great. 1860s Japan is a great scene.
Nope nope. Nioh games are miles ahead of this trash. If u want to waste your money like me do it. Otherwise wait till u get 80% discount or something like that
The game is great real action packed lot of things to do big map, is just the main character dont reply talking visual not flourish, maybe on remastered edition.
Only ones who cannot afford this because it's a playstation exclusive will hate not being our fault.. Bad ass game definitely brought out that tenchu vibe for the me.
Its that it’ll look boring if the people look same skinny build. No one is that huge like the enemies and its historic fantasy nothing wrong. Same dudes who use Dynasty Warriors into their games. The TwinBlades: Protagonist and Antagonist they kinda do little influences on wars but its a story. Ghost of Tsushima is about War and Relationships also
Outstanding game with very smooth combat great weapons and it just feels really good while you're playing it there's a lot of s*** being talked about the graphics to be honest the frame rates outstanding and the graphics aren't the best however they're definitely not bad at all and nowhere near I mean nowhere near as bad as people are saying I can't stand team ninja games and I absolutely love it it's literally the first game they've ever made that I liked I tried playing Fallen Dynasty and it was the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a game however this game looks great and when I seen the bad reviews I know it would be good because those people don't even play games every game that gets bad review ends up being outstanding
why you try to gatekeep 1 game forever?GoT is amazing,i dont see the appeal of playing 1 singular samurai game for over 300 hours and multiple playthrough.Eventually you will get bored and try something else, having option is better. PS5/ps4 wasnt made to play 1 game
i hope this isnt the new standard for playstation exclusive, GoT had better graphics and fluent combat and that was ps4 game forn $60 dollars, rise of the ronin looks like a ps3 game remastered for the ps4 and its worth $70 ...
