This show honestly doesn't get enough credit, everyone, or at least the ones I've seen, always compares it to the last recarnations the most and just trying too hard to find the negatives, it's fine if they do and don't like it, but it's pretty unfair because of course they are gonna side with the previous ones, like the show isn't trying to be 2003 or 2012 turtles (tho I do love those versions too) but out of all the wacky silly or serious incarnations tmnt has, apparently rise to them is where they draw the line, it's a fast paste funny show with the early and mid 2000 Saturday morning goodness.
I think its good cartoon and you were right about if it was like 2003 and 2012 cuz it isnt the same when 2003 was out it was cool to see more serious and true to the comics show. 2012 it was cgi that i dont mind and it was kinda similiar to 2003 in some aspects so it was still cool. If rise of the tmnt was like these 2 it woudnt be the same cuz its the third time so they changed it to more silly and cartoony.
I am glad that you're into Rise of the TMNT and, I admit, I wasn't a big plan of Splinter. Until "The Evil League of Mutants" reveals that we were OH SO WRONG about who he truly was.

Rottmnt is an improvement to be honest. Its really unexpected like a surprise birthday party. But many people didn't enjoy or want the surprise. Many changes good and bad. Raph is now the oldest, biggest and the new leader. He also lost his twin sais for glowing tonfas. He is also a Aligator Snapping Turtle. Leo is a comedian, irresponsible red eared slider who replaced twin katanas for a teloportating sword(Odachi Sword) . Donnie is a soft shell turtle who isn't as good at fighting and builds cool fighting machines like Battle Shells, Shell Hogs, Turtle Tank, Bug Slapper, Force Agent Bonding (F. A. B) and Tech Bo Staff which has a million functions (yes he is still the brains). Mikey is still nuts and swaped nunchuks for a spiky yoyo known as Kurosari-Fundo. He aslo is too optimistic and has a thing for arts. But.........still the shows great.
Donnie’s fighting skills in Rise is so underrated...slow it down whenever he’s fighting, his bo skills are insane...against Draxum (1st episode), Hypno (evil league of mutants) and Foot Recruit (insane in the mama train) Donnie puts in serious work...
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO APPRECIATE RISE OF THE TMNT AND NOT JUDGING THE SERIES JUST BECAUSE OF THE BIG CHANGES!!!!!!!. Seriously it's so annoying seeing people hating on things without giving it a chance like i get they don't like it but if they don't like then just get lost and find some other shows to watch. But screw the haters Rise of the TMNT is the B-E-S-T
Not only all that, but this show also makes references and drops Easter eggs to all past turtle incarnations and other kinds of pop culture. It even makes references to the past rolls their voice actors have done.
Honestly I binge-watched this show with my sister and I absolutely love how they portray their interactions. I always thought that the other incarnations' interactions felt waaaaaay too heavy (except for the 87 version), and that they needed to chillax (tho I'll admit that the fight scenes that come out of these tensions are damned good). I mean, they still get into dumb fights (like in Shell in a Cell, or Minotaur Maze) but at the end of the chapter they usually make up and show that they are as tight-knit as I would expect them to be considering… their whole situation. I really liked the changes they made. I mean, Raph was technically the leader in the 1990's movie, but we never really saw that reflected, and a lot of fights in the 2012 version come from the fact that Leo was chosen as the leader and not Raph. I think that Raph is doing his best and absolutely love him from it. And also how seriously he takes his role as the oldest brother! I also really loved the new April. It's a little closer to the Mirage April, and we learn in the book that she's their childhood friend. She's super dope and omfg, her voice actress is also dope. Regarding the different weapons, the makers said something about basing it on some of the comics, where Mikey gets a kusari-fundo and Raph his tonfas. They explain how those work better with their fighting styles and personalities, which overall sounds pretty cool. (I'd love to see more Mikey action, but that's my bias speaking, lmao) Tbh I was rather put-out by Splinter too, at first. More than a little skeptical, too, but as The Evil Leage of Mutants, then Mr. Cuddles, and then Shadow of Evil came out, I've come to respect him to the point he's become ny favorite incarnation of Splinter. (I really liked that he showed that he had many flaws, admitted to them and after running away from Draxum did his utmost to redeem himself) (I would really love a direct follow-up of Shadow of Evil where he tells the turtles about his past but we haven't gotten that as of yet.) I love how we are shown that even if he became fat and old, he's still pretty much capable of kicking yokai (and mutant) ass if the situation calls for it. And also the love between him and his turtle sons!!!!! I was honest to God touched in Late Fee when they were going through all that trouble just because Splinter promised to hug them, and they always call him dad, or pops, or papa, or father. Never 'master Splinter' (which always sounded too formal, in my opinion). I mean they are including some of the old tropes, I think, with Shredder, but I like the twists they are introducing them with! I mean the whole kuroi yoroi thingy, and him being a demon defeated by the Foot 500 years ago and stuff. And oh boy, the animation and voice acting is just top notch and i just love it so much.(I absolutely love April, Mikey and Leo, the others too but just a tiny whiny less. also John Cena does some pretty funny stuff for this show) Thanks for making this video. It really is nice to see more positive feedback on this show. I hope you continue to like the show! :D

@@Thisratisrockin Yup! Back when I wrote the og comment there were two published complimentary books for rottmnt: ninja power and secrets of the city. It's basically the animated chapters in prose, but since the first book is in April's PoV it includes some interesting commentary about their personalities. Like how "for a snapping turtle, Raph doesn't snap much". And also the story of how they met in this iteration (April was on an abandoned basketball court at night when they met iirc).

I genuinely avoided this show for some time, thinking that it's just a cash grab to sell merchandise to children. But one day I sat down and watched an episode and found out that it was really good! We get to see the turtles being just like teenagers and that's refreshing!

@B Star EXACTLY! I remember when, me and brother, we'd quickly switch channels just because a rise episode started but one day, I found myself actually watching an episode and I was like: that's not that bad! and so I convinced my brother to watch it and he likes the show a lot now!
It was the same for me i began watching ait like 5 months ago (wanted to wait for alot episodes) and it was pretty great its comedic silly and cartoony thats why i enjoy it

@@ultrascouter203 it's also like a breath of fresh air compared to the previous version (tmnt) which rather deals with serious topics and we see the turtles being all angsty, whereas in the rise they get to be cool and fun to be around really!
I do believe one co-creator worked on Samurai Jack! I hard agree on virtually everything especially the animation--god guys differentiate art style pref from "bad animation", except that I did enjoy lazy Splinter a lot too and how fatherly he is in a relatively relaxed TMNT background. Gonna share this to my friends on a Rise discord, who are always so antsy about nostalgia laddled feedback. Cheers. :D

I also can’t understand why the animation is so amazing, would be really interesting to hear what kind of budget the show has. Also I think splinter is getting better in terms of character development over the course of the show!

Thank you for saying positive things about this show. I'm glad someone says positive things about this reboot because i love this show so much. The voice acting,character development and animation is really good. Raphael being the leader and being responisble, Donatello being a lot more sarcastic but still a genius, Michaelangelo still being the same and Leonardo being a normal teenager. It's nice seeing new changes to the show. I hope Nick will promote this show beacuse it's so cool and badass
okay, now after watching 53 eps , i can`t say that rise is a cheap made cash-grab . instead i can say its one that actually has heart and is pretty much better than most of the trash on nick. the series actually feels like it`s made by a fan for the fans. the series is funny,beautiful to look at, has great action, has amazing animation and actually tells a story a good on it`s own. the series already manage to establish it`s own identity. one my favorite things about the series is how many original villains the series created that actually feel like they belong in tmnt. my favorites are hypno,big mama,baron draxum, meant sweats and two foot leaders. the series is really a breath if fresh air . i really am glad i`ve grow to love this series for what it is because since the great 2012 series ended and the idw comic is still in hiatus, i need more tmnt in my life. best version so far 8.5. sadly,i went from feeling to depress since the series wont last that long
Too bad it ended maybe they are calling it a series finnale i think if the rise of the tmnt netflix film does good they will probabply release season 3 i forgot alot of things so i am thinking of rewatching it but with my brother this time after 2 animes and see the finale of the series
Honestly I love the show it is a new spin on the characters and it really reminds me of Ducktales 2017 another show I adore And as for Splinter I totally agree with you but I heard that the crew behind the show a an interesting character arc for him I hope that will improve him
*OH THANK GOD I THOUGHT EVERYONE HATED THIS SHOW-* I mean, not everyone, just reviewers. Also, I find thst the turtles in this have a much healthier relationship in this. The 2012 series, Raph can DECK Mikey, and no one bats an eye. I get they can handle it due to the fact that they're ninja, but overall they don't always have the healthiest relationship. Rise shows the turtles treat Mikey a lot better than in the 2012 series. I love the 2012 series btw, I just find that Rise is Mikeys relationships at its best. :)
Everyone compares this to teen titans go, but it's really teen titans. TT took the super hero format laid down by previous series like justice league, batman and superman, gave it an anime-esque makeover and became a series mixing more serious, character-focused episodes with goofy nonsense episodes. It could be serious, but wasn't afraid to have fun just like Rise.
Happy to see this show getting respect. The comedy is good, the character development is decent, and I'm sure they're doing well with story. But the series is a bit silly to be honest, still better than that Baby Titans Go!
I loved this adaptation of TMNT! The visuals, the animation, the humour it really is just stunning!! It’s a shame it never lasted long though RIP ROTTMNT 😔🙏
The only thing I didn’t like about this show is Raph being the leader. But Rise is really good. It’s funny, unique, the fight scenes are awesome and it’s amazing all together. People just need to let go of the past and see the good things about this show instead of just hating it because it’s different smh 🤦♂️
I tried and its not that easy to watch the characters acts like goof balls and I do agree that Raph shouldn't be the leader and the design of his is so awful but the rest of the turtles seems fine, if only they have the exact size then it would be so spot on. But you're right, the animation looks so fresh but the story itself in my opinion it's just so bad!! I don't know it just makes the series goes a little overboard with the jokes and silliness of the show and it's really hard for me to watch and listen to does unnecessary jokes but I consider this more as a parody than just being a proper tmnt show.
I feel that the general negativity whenever a long running franchise does something vastly different from previous adaptations mixed with the negativity towards reboots post Teen Titans Go! did not do this show any favors. It's a shame because I really liked this.
Before I had doubts about this show but after binge watching it I found it really enjoyable. It has its own charm, but the good points about this show are not only the animation and art style, the plot builds up a bit slowly, and the line delivery is pretty slick. Had a good laugh at some of them and the pacing is alright. It takes time to go from serious to absolutely goof-off. All in all if people are a lot more accepting they should give it a try and watch for themselves THEN they decided whether its good or not.
To be honest I didn't like at first But after I watch The Evil league of mutants episode At the End where The turtles Say that it don't where there DNA Come from what matter is Master Splinter Will Always be A father be to they no matter what & They love him for that It was really Sweet When they did A Big Group Hug and Mikey said I Wonder where lou jitsu is now And then leo said Where ever he is I bet he's doing something awesome and Then splints Laugh which was really sweet & cute 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 Is
and now with the show being over (sadly) we know how amazing it is they even took the old things like Shredder, Karai & Casey and gave them new twists to still feel fresh it's amazing
I remember watching some episodes of Rise of the Tmnt and I actually liked it! The action was cool and fast paced, the comedy was decent, the voice acting was great, and some of the stories were really interesting. Plus, it has a really catchy theme. It's sort of like Teen Titans GO, only this show has somewhat of a consistent storyline, and the jokes are actually funny.
Literally, ROTTMNT is better in a lot of ways (in my opinion), with animation, characterization, design, and plot. I loved having a really sweet Raph, and I liked the entire Hidden City stuff and I liked Leo being a complete silly goof I saw some people upset about how Barum got a redemption but I'm actually pretty happy with his redemption and for some reason I absolutely loved seeing him become a cafeteria lady And I also loved seeing the turtles randomly wearing clothes. Whether for "disguise" or not I just liked seeing them wearing clothes The action in the finale was honestly awesome. Like I had to rewatch the finale like, three different times because I was so awed by the fact that it was so- just AWESOME. It was brilliant. Those are some of the things I can think of off the top of my head that I liked, but there's a lot more
Yes into the spider versus I totally thought I was the only one who saw that also if they were going to have a tmnt action show based on anything why not spider versus that movie was amazing.

I got into these series because I needed a break after the end of TMNT 2012 third season (that one was really dark), and I'm not going to lie, the first season of Rise was stupendous, with an amazing finale and everything. Season 2 though.... one of my favourite parts of TMNT since the beginning (1987's cartoon for me) is the relationship between the turtles as siblings, and while Rise nailed it in the first season, I feel like the second one has too many episodes with either one or two doing stuff, and the rest not being present (only mentioned every now and then), and those episodes are kind of a drag at times for me (even those who have my favourite turtle, Mikey, as the main turtle). I miss their dynamic as a group. I've gotten a break of Rise to go back to the 2012 show, but I'll continue it, and then the movie, just to see how everything ends. But still, big fan of the first season.
One thing I kinda wish rise of the TMNT would do is bulk up leo Donny and Mikey and slim down and slight shrink Ralph I feel the look would be a little bit better hopefully we get that in future seasons cuz I would love to see a Ralph and Leo fight kinda like the 2007 movie

It doesn’t sound like Brian Robbins, the 90s nick alumni to mistreat shows that are not spongebob or loud house unless it’s not him, it could be their parent company ViacomCBS, Bob Bankish or Phil Daumann or Goldstein. Rise of TMNT deserved more love and TTG or Thundercats roar are not gonna make a bad reputation out of comedy cartoons starring superhero characters.

Like, compared to the last Nickelodeon one, it's a masterpiece. The last one sucked. It had terrible animation, and was boring. It was a dread to wake up to. Donny actually feels fun this time
I've been trying to rewatch the 2012 series. OMG it's so boring. And "boring" is the absolute worst thing a cartoon can be. Not that it's horrible but it's such a slog to get through. A month has passed and I still haven't finished season 1 while I've rewatched all of Rise twice now.
@@hardasphuk7633 hehe, here's a little different of TTG and rottmnt. TTG is much more known as parody, they do consist on jokes, but their jokes are more on making fun of. TTG doesn't completely respect their predecessor and continuesly just making jokes, their prime target audience are young children. Rottmnt is a comedy series, but it's also slice of life, action, and family oriented story. Compare to TTG, rise consistently has action and actual fighting scenes, TTG just have sitcom like scenarios and plot mostly focused on their daily shenanigans. Rise is also an arching story, though it is slow it's building it's plot lines and have a complete ending with character development. Also rise main audience is also young children, but they also focused on teenagers and even adults, they're making it a story for old and new fans. So that's the main difference of TTG and rottmnt.

Are people serious, none of the action or stories matches up with the 4Kids TMNT series or the previous TMNT series Nick had. This incarnation is not only ridiculously short (what with the fifteen minute runtime per episode.) But the characters are unbelievably dumb and the concept makes no sense. If this is before the team became the focused and disciplined band of warriors we know them for. Then, April shouldn't be in the picture until halfway through the season
I guess I do kind of wish they kept their signature weapons, that's like my only tiny gripe, although I do love Leos sword and raphs tonfas fit his fighting style.

@@sadlobster1 I mean, kids will watch anything, they are kids, but that doesn't mean some comedy automatically means that they think kids are dumb, and rise of the tmnt still has the heart and effort put into it even if it's comedy heavy and lighthearted, but it's not fart or butt jokes, it's just organic teasing and talking and the plot is still the same as the others.
No it doesn't, the old TMNT still exists, and you can watch that at any time you want, so you might as well just stay away from Rise if you don't like it

I respect your opinion but I don't get why almost everyone always compares rise to teen titans go and calls it dumb when all other ninja turtle versions have space dinosaurs, talking brains, a time traveling samurai rabbit, food monsters, and a giant eyeball machine, hell the 2012 version had rainbow dream beavers, and a talking pizza and that gets praise all the time, sure 2003 and 2012 are more serious but it doesn't really take away the silly things that still happened, they, especially 1987 cartoon was just as silly and wacky.
@@FTIBug well because talking rabbits and brain aliens are a recurring element in the series as are wacky mutants. But this series steps out of character and if you replace the characters with someone else it could still work. The reason why other series worked are that it followed the spirit of the original comic and 1980 cartoon. I made this argument before with teen titans go. Instead using an establish team with a deep story, they cokld have used another DC teen team legion of super heroes. This team is litterally the people who did not make it in justice league. With bubble boy and arm fall off lad and matter eater boy. These guys are literal joke characters. With the rise turtles, it feels like they are using the name to boost fanbase viewership.
