Yehey! My favorite song by Queen Morissette . It was and is indeed very powerful. Three years ago i was bedridden ( from a bad fall from a ladder and hurt my back) i remember it has been more than 2 weeks and was not sure if i ever be able to rise up from my bed . I git my smartphone and i chance upon Queen Morissette singing "Rise Up". Her song became my daily medicine , my mtivation to rise up. Along with i watched and followed back rehabilitation exercises from youtube. Slowly but surely i was able to strenghten my back and also learn how to stand and walk again. That's why she is different from the rest. 1. Beautiful tone 2. Can belt and can also go low and still not lose integrity of her voice and 3. She UNDERSTANDS the songs that she sings and is able to properly apply techniques. I'd say one of the smartest, if not, the smartest of all not just in singing, but in general sense. While there are many great singers in the Philippines, only a few, however are able to captivate you with their interpretation. Mori is a rarity. I don't recall a filipino singer who gets you hooked as effectively as she can, and for a good reason ;)
Beautiful reaction. Exactly how I felt when I heard this the first time. Andra Day was very good but I didn't love it. Morissette made this song so much more inspirational. When I heard this and then "Fly Like A Bird" I just became a huge fan.
