Swaminarayan bhagwaan according to Skanda Puran, Adhyay 18, Vasudev Mahatmya granth is avatri of Shri hari vishnu Narayan before final avtar of Kalki. He was born in Chappaiya, Uttar Pradesh. He travelled from UP to Nepal to east India, to Rameshvaram to Gujarat where he settled after finding a yogya guru Shri Ramanand Swami of Uddhav sampradaay where he showed his miraculous powers and gave knowledge and wrote many granth, ended bali pratha, sati, caste discrimination, robbery and hinsa, even Christian missionaries were impressed by him. He made compulsory laxmi-narayan tilak, nitya niyam, vachnamrut, building temples, serving poor and needy, donation for dharma. Crores of devotees follow him, 1300+ temples, gurukul, hospitals, of only BAPS around 21 nations. Also the original math or main temples are six and main is vadtal (Laxmi-narayan) mandir which in themselves has over 1500+ institutions. The most forward disaster relief teams is Baps. Original Swaminarayan sampradaay is well established in Gujarat. Baps is little different than original mul sampradaay. But Pramukh swami was a great saint, samaj sudharak, (social reformer), guru of PM Modi and even APJ Abdul Kalam etc great personalities. Yes u heard right, Dr. APJ Kalam being Muslim was his disciple and wrote a whole book Transcendence for his guru pramukh swami. PM Modi inaugrated his 100 shatabdi mahotsav in ahmedabad in December 2022. Whole international community celebrated shatabdi mahotsav. Even UK PM, Australia PM, and USA president were influenced by him though he didn't know English.
