The Rising Star Award celebrates extraordinary accomplishments of younger alumni and what they have achieved in their shorter career span, nominees will be 39 years or younger at time of nomination. One awarded from the alumni cohort.
Dr. Joshua Daskin is a distinguished ecologist and conservationist known for his significant contributions to wildlife and ecosystem protection and ecological research. He earned his Master of Science in Zoology as a U.S. Fulbright Scholar at JCU in 2011. His research excellence is reflected in his 23 peer-reviewed publications, including notable papers in Nature and Science, which have been cited over 1400 times.
