Stage aesthetics Mod is my favorite mod of all time. I like the original designs of the maps, but the sunny Sundered Grove or seeing the planet on Commencement with no fog is the coolest thing I have ever seen in this game. The randomiser is really fun as well. Thought you should have mentioned either of these mods.
Goku, Trunks, and Vegeta also have unique mechanics, such as Goku's Kaioken, Trunks' Sword of Light, and Vegeta's ability to become Majin Vegeta after a certain power threshold. Additionally, these characters have beautiful multiplayer support that allows players to preform a combo attack together once per map, with Goku and Vegeta using Final Kamehameha and Trunks preforming Father-Son Galick Gun with Vegeta. There's also a few bonus transformations you can load onto the character before starting, such as Super Saiyan 4 and 5, or even Vegeta becoming Super Saiyan 3. Lastly, the mod maker also created an item pack mod that adds new items to the game, including Senzu Beans, Training Weights, and even Dio Brando's own head.
I really liked the Medic mod, he's actually very fun in singleplayer. His medibeam damages enemies, stacks up a buff on them that makes his crossbow deal more damage, they even ported over the overheal, ubercharge, and the shield from MvM. Medibeam + Shield is very strong on single target, too, early stage bosses die pretty fast.
Honestly, the gurenn lagann mod is my favorite. It's so full of details, to the point where the characters get their own eye-catch in the style of the show, not to mention it's transformation cutscene, which is the most badass shit ever
You might wanna check out the character mod called rocket, literally just soldier mod but updated and with an art style that fits into the game. Its also made by the people behind the enforcer mod
Paladin is pretty fun. I have been really enjoying the Starstorm 2 mod especially when I mix in just a bit of randomizer to get random minions and bosses. Truly chaotic when Mithrix becomes a gip but then he summons 5 actual Mithrix for his phase 2.
With skins I'd like to mention that there's a person who's going around creating skins for characters who are clearly not designed with the RoR2 art style in mind that makes them look as if they were designed for the game. Someone made a Ganon mod, and this person made a skin for Ganon that makes him look like something you'd actually see in RoR2. Someone made a Deku mod and he did the same thing for that character.
The VR mod is hands down the most fun I have had with my index Not that I don't have other fun titles, they just don't compete with playing railgunner and holding one hand under my ass like a rudder so I can effectively fly.
Hey mate, thanks for playing my jank ass Phoenix Wright mod. I'm glad that you enjoyed it. Also for the scout mod, I mean we'll "eventually" add animations.... when I stop being lazy
There is another mod that is called Risk of Ruina. Use the unofficial one because the OG has been deprecated. In the Risk of Ruina mod, there are some items in it, and one of it is like a focus crystal, but for ranged. The further, the more damage it deals. For characters, there are two of them. One is The Arbiter, a ranged... i'll call them 'Librarians' from now on; who can lock enemies, summon pillars and one can manipulate speed. She applies a debuff called "Fairy". Which i think deals damage if an enemy attacks. My favorite librarian in this mod, the Red Mist. She's a melee class who has directional attacks like the Dancer. There is this skill called 'Onrush', where it charges to an enemy. When an enemy is killed, it can be reused again. Then there is her ult, which is 'Manifest EGO'. But to use it, you need to build up EGO by hitting and killing enemies. Once full, Manifest EGO can be used, and all her attacks are upgraded. When using Onrush with EGO on, if the attack skill kills an enemy, it will reuse it again automatically. Great for killing off weak enemies like beetles, wisps, and lemurians. And her ult during EGO turns into 'Greater Split: Horizontal' which is a big fuck-off swing dealing massive damage. There is no penalty using the ult. You just need to kill as many enemies as you can to maintain your EGO meter, because it decays faster overtime. Red Mist is easy to learn imo. Arbiter took some time, but i got her to win on my second try, with Artifact of the King mod btw, which is another mod that makes Mithrix look like a Pantheon of Hallownest running contestant. Very scary, must add. Sorry for the long wall of text, but try giving this mod a chance. I think you'll like it.
the ScrollableLobbyUI mod will fix the overlaps in the character selection menu nevermind it appears in like 2 clips other than that i personally recommend the UnofficialRiskOfRuina mod
There's another character mod called Rocket, it's currently in beta but it's fully functional gameplay wise. A lot like the Soldier, but incredibly well designed and by far my favorite character. Also Ganondorf. Love the editing style!
I've been playing this game on and off and I've never known about mods for this wth. This is sick!! Looks so good I'ma try this once I'm home , amazing informative and very hilarious video. Thank you 👍
If you play RoR2 mods still, then there are 2 mods i recommend. 1 the gambler aka "The House" he has so much rng and one of his abilities is Russian Roulette, where you have 1/6 to die, 4/6 to do nothing, and a 1/6 to kill EVERYTHING on stage and drop a legendary. 2nd mod is "RiskofRuina" it's a mod based off a game called library of ruina. Red Mist is basically Dante from DMC but she is fucking BRUTALLY good.
I can see some of your inspiration in your editing style, but you've managed to take those ideas and make them your own. We shall watch your career with interest.
The moment I saw the Paladin design I thought to myself wow they should make a Guts reskin for the character that would be perfect Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised that ten seconds later I saw exactly that
Something worth mentioning that people might not know if they haven't experienced modded RoR2 is that there are a ton of quality of life mods that people have made. I am so undoubtfully grateful for those modders who have made those mods that targets the things in RoR2 that just seem very impractical. I can speak for myself and my friend that the BetterUI mod and the stat tracker mods are insanely helpful. I'm always the kind of gamer that enjoys the numbers in the games so these mods help a ton. Also, the BetterDrones mod is super helpful. It makes the drones actually viable and impactful in runs. And lastly there is one more mod called ChestBeGone, which does as it says. I'm very glad you highlighted some of the mods I have played and I know for my roommate and myself enjoy the Enforcer and Paladin mods substantially! I've played a good 50+ hours of the Enforcer mod. His character and playstyle is so unique in the game and I love that style of gameplay. Anyway, thanks for the great video! Liked and Subscribed! :D
In the list of game types you gave about mods used across games. You used Minecraft and terraria, one an 8 bit "open world" game and one a fully open world game. Mods made for these have wider spaces to use and thus can (but not always) tend to branch out further then that of a roguelike, such as risk of rain 2. Which can (again, not always) overcomplicate themselves but only due to the nature that they aren't stuck to one primary "ending", Risk of rain is a roguelike, your set on one path, you may have multiple routes to get to the end of that path, but you are still locked to that one path. You are given an arsenal of equipment to make it easier for you to reach the end of it with the chance of losing it all, so for a modding perspective, Risk of rain 2 is a fair easier modding to understand once you understand the base game and it's mechanics alone, with no open world to branch off and still ever stuck to either the same ending, or a modded new ending, you always follow the same path as before. It's just my take on it.
I didn’t start modding until Skyrim released its official in game workshop on Xbox, when I finally got an actual working Pc and found out that not just Skyrim could be modded i was shocked
I love people getting into mods, all the mod creators need to see some love from their efforts, I would also like to recommend some which peaked my interest in 300 hours of modding: -scrollableLobbyUI (basically a mod that fixes your lobby menu if you have too many characters, difficulties, and skins) -Sandstorm 2 (a huge behemoth of a mod that adds characters and items in the style of an expansion like SOTV) -enforcer (I know you already featured this but I just want to say that there is another secret character in the mod, the secret character is a whole ‘nother basket of fun)
I'm a bit disappointed there's still no Marvel mods. Artificer could make a good basis for Iron Man. Acrid for Hulk. Though really some crazy extensively custom shit like the playable Goku, Deku, Darth Vader, etc could go wild with the right passion behind it. Also maybe something like Infinity Gems as items and collecting them all let's you do something OP. The Gauntlet as equipment. Idk man, glad the anime fans are eating well but I'd like some scraps.
The same people who made the Enforcer released a mod called "Rocket" (apparently in beta) who's built a lot like the soldier but balanced more like a risk of rain character instead of staying accurate to TF2. He still has some of the TF2 sounds but the character has their own unique take on the soldier with a detonator that can detonate your rockets mid-air and a C4 that you can also detonate which launches you further than your rockets and stuns enemies. He even has a special that fires 4 rockets then reloads your primary and 2 alternate abilities, including the beloved market gardener. Personally I prefer it more than the original soldier mod because it just fits better in the game than the original soldier mod, but they both work in their own ways and i wouldn't blame you if you like the OG mod better.
Adding more difficulties can be a nice challenge. Especially with multitudes. I came up with a ridiculous challenge where I would try and beat the game on Armageddon Multitudes x8. I think I only won a couple runs in that, it’s super difficult.
