They patched it so it's equally faster when climbing ropes iirc. There are still some case where it's faster to jump up though like with rusty jetpack.
He meant one of the ogs of modern action roguelites which crossed over into mainstream and made the genre monstrously popular like Spelunky, Binding of Issac (probably more than any of them) RoR, FTL, Don't Starve, Rogue Legacy, and others that all came out around the same time like 10 years ago or so. Those games together are almost important to the history of the genre as the original text dungeons and Rogue itself
@@alexonstott4954 Yeah. Honestly, I believe most Roguelikes nowadays are inspired more by the games you mentioned (and those that came after) than by actual Rogue. Especially when you get into the whole "roguelike vs roguelite" territory. Plus Scaz specified 2013 platformer roguelikes, so OP misquoted him.
Played Risk of Rain 2 and enjoyed it a lot, it was a good bit of fun. Played this game, Risk of Rain Returns; it's an improved remake of the original of the first game, it must be good. Nope, this game sucks absolute ass to play. Shit is bad. However, even bad games are great to watch speedruns for, the best part is I'm not the one playing it; I get to watch great gameplay and I don't have to suffer through being the player. Shit is good.
