At a Tai Chi training camp I attended in 2004 I asked a Master who was a teenager training at the time of the cultural revolution what is was like then as a martial artist in China. His countenance grew sorrowful. He was quiet in front of the group of 40 people for a longtime. Then he simply said, “I lost family. It was unspeakable.” They sacrificed so much to continue these wonderful arts we have the privilege to practice. Thank you for helping to share their legacies & arts.
