Your advice is much appreciated and makes sense. Making sense of our own ability to handle 'bad beats' however, takes some doing. How many times would the hand you threw away have been the winning hand i.e 5 7 suited but either the preflop action or position resulted in folding? Then those range of cards reappear in your hand and the temptation to play them overrides the right thing to do, fold. I have also found the higher the buy-in the players tend to play, shall we say 'as expected,' tighter but extremely aggressive when in the hand. Poker, the perfect mistress, sometimes treats you very well others and the greatest percentage of time like a loser.
When I chopped a deep stack at the Venetian...the guy who chopped with me 10,000 was left devastated with a few measly chips...at about 4 tables....he went all in blind preflop 4 times in a row...all of a sudden he's chip leader.ended up heads up with me we chopped... everyone called him to knock him out..he totally played it right he didn't tighten up until he had a stack..and he gambled blind to get the stack ...pretty much only thing he could do...
I need some advice bud. Ive cashed around 30% of my tournys in last last month. 4x mtt's a day. So lets say ive cashed around 34 out of 112 mtts. But only minimal cashes for 90% of those. Around 3-4 final tables. My problem is. I keep busting to people who should be folding... I cant seem to beat these players who just call me because of emotion and their J3 offsuit or Q7off just busts me and stops me progressing into the higher cashes.. How do I avoid this? Or get passed it?
