"Tonight and Every Night" nicely cuts to the chase by putting this clever elaborate production number very early in the film. All is so perfect: the music and lyrics, choreography, costumes, extra dancers, beautiful technicolor and the best dancing by Rita Hayworth and Jack Cole that launches this film.
Jack Cole said: "So i rehearse(What Does an English girl Think of A Yank) with Rita a couple of times around and we're ready to start. Well, baby, i don't know what hit me when they turned the camera on. When it was for real, it was like "look out!". For the first shot i just went up six ways from SundaySuddenly this mass of red hair comes hurtling at me....you know, she was the most animated object ever....Rita ALWAYS did it for real - she always gave more than she got!"
rita's talents as a dancer are truly spectacular. look how she commands the space around her with her movements, her powerful spins, her flowing movements. and she dances with such tremendous joy! she's out-dancing her partner here, and he's jack cole, the choreographer of this routine!
Rita was just soooooo talented and beautiful. How sad she never found a man that really loved and appreciated her and gave her the security she so needed. Hollywood is just all about EGO and money.
Good choice of a spectacular production number, and so nice to have it so early in the film. Rita's beauty and excellent dancing talents always a true pleasure with any dancing partner, Astaire, Kelly, and even choreographers Jack Cole and Hermes Pan. Her solos were also magnificent. Thanks for the video.
