I've been following Rita Payés for about 8 years. Wow! This is brilliant! She keeps growing in her musical understanding and performance. And what a great group of musicians that surround and support her!
Que magnifica representacion musical. Me conmueve hasta los huesos, hermosa Rita Payes: mariposa alada que nos hace volar con todos los colores de su memorable musica!!! Cuanta belleza!!!
I love getting these presents to unwrap. Toni's arrangement is fabulous and its great to see Miguel, Eva and Eudald in there. Paula, Marina, Nina and Irma seemed to be having a great time even if they were recorded later (?). A really original piece of Jazz. Love the shifting time signatures... It works very well giving us a chill musical journey to match the surprisingly non-terrifying, textual one.
Wow wow wow!! Absolutely gorgeous! Keep on keeping on Rita!! Best live performance I've seen of yours and they are all great - and the electric guitar/electronic sounds added A LOT to this performance! Can't wait to hear more! 😊😊😊
Contemporary jazz is becoming incredibly rich, Rita Payés participates magnificently with this creation that follows "Tantas Cosas" last week! Thank you!

Hi Claudia. The core of the group is Rita's group for the last three (4?) years, recording Como La Piel and now De Camino al Camino and touring extensively in Europe and South America. They comprise- Elisabeth Roma (Rita's mother) (and partner on Imagina Rita's first independent disk) Sensational classical guitarist and arranger. Teaches/taught at Rita's old music college. Pol Battle (husband, father of her two children) Electric guitar., guitar, singer/songwriter. Horacio Fumero (father of Rita's best friend composer pianist Lucia Fumero) World class double bass player, for two decades played with the great pianist Tete Montoliu. Also teaches/taught at Rita's college. Juan Berbin (first met Rita five years ago at Lucia/Horacio's house where they produced "La Noche y el Dia") Latin Grammy percussionist, Producer and mixer of the latest work with a considerable input into the final form. Added this time are Toni Vaquer teaches at Rita's college. Great jazz pianist and arranger of this track. (All others were arranged by Rita/the group. All strings were arranged by Rita.) Eva Fernandez, long time friend from their extraordinary jazzy adventures with Joan Chamorro and The Sant Andreu Jazz Band. Here, each has spent over a decade of their lives honing their jazz skills in public performances with some of the greatest musicians out there. A tender voiced jazz singer and hugely melodic saxophonist. Eudald Payes (Rita's brother, much admired by Rita for his compositional skills; try Alma en Vilo, Sweet Little Lies) Trumpet, flugelhorn, latterly piano. Miguel "Pintxo" Villar, a favourite saxophonist with Rita, playing a mix of South Amrican folk/popular songs and the wildest creative jazz together and with his band Kaleidoscope. The quartet is new. They played on all album tracks this time and Marina and Irma made it on to La Revuelta RTVE with Tantas Cosas. The most unlikely track to play from De Camino on a chat show... (with footballers!), like Frida Kahlo poetry set to Bartok. But the audience went wild.
