The Ritom power plant in Ticino, which was built in 1920 and is located only a few kilometers from the Gotthard Tunnel, is in need of renewal. Since 2018, a number of contractors from the Marti Group have been working on this overall complex renovation on behalf of Ritom SA.

The production value on this was simply amazing. I love the transitions between simulation and real-life. I also appreciate - as someone who's worked on oil drilling rigs and all sorts of heavy industrial areas - the mention of how hard the work is and the working condition for the crews. That part often gets left out of those videos, as they tend to focus more on the engineering and technical aspects of these projects. It's difficult to make someone who's never worked in those conditions appreciate exactly how loud, dirty, heavy, hard, dusty, and dangerous the work really is, day in, day out, from start to finish. All I had on site were handtools so I did my best to get it right. I use my Sylvac Mikron to find the exact spot and mark it with a center punch. I measure and it's spot on. I grab the smallest drill bit they had in their tool box and drill a tiny pilot hole, measure, and it's spot on. Then I take a 2,5mm bit, drill a larger pilot hole, measure, and it's absolutely perfectly centered where it needs to be. So I take the 6,8mm bit, drill, measure and the hole is off by almost 3mm. Off into the trash the part goes. I went home early that day.

By far the most impressive, detailed yet understandable TBM video I’ve seen. Incredible integration between cgi and live video.

Gorgeous filming! Removing the gatekeepers from video creation and distribution has led to an extraordinary flowering of talent. Those mining guys are doing truly heroic work. Blessings to them!

It's a Swiss family owned company & it has subsidiaries in a dozen countries. Sales around 1.7 billion francs a year. Major projects by Marti AG include the Limmern pumped storage plant in the canton of Glarus , the Prime Tower in Zurich , the Löwenstrasse through station in Zurich main station as part of the Zurich cross-city link ( Weinberg tunnel ) and the renovation of the Lötschberg tunnel .

Stunning engineering. Seeing that these workers are actually able to go into the drilling machine while it's drilling makes me want a Snowpiercer type story set in one of those machines.

This is such an interesting and entertaining video with lots of detail where it's needed, but also never without humor and never a dull moment. A true diamond among the muck of corporate profile videos. The producers should get a nice big bonus.

Jesus Christ im not an engineer or interested in engineering but Ive watched this whole thing and got new respect for people making tunnels. Also, what an amazing ''Documentary'' Also, I hate the fact that whoever has put this animation together with all of the cuts and snippets will get no recognition but their Manager who had 0 input will.
