In this very short video, we detail our activities (or lack thereof) on a sea day aboard the Evrima. After a room service breakfast, we found a quiet, shaded place to relax, read and drink. For lunch, we headed back to Talaat Nam, where we ate the entire dim sum menu.
After High Tea, we chilled in our room. Johnetta was not hungry, so I sat at the bar in Mistral and had a steak and a martini. We finished the day with some jazz in the Living Room, featuring Eva Blossom.

Loved the relaxing day at sea. I really enjoyed the Jazz Music. Love traveling with you both vicariously. I love watching your video and watching how you are enjoying your lives. Good for the both of you. Keep the great content coming, I so enjoy it.

@@shawngallacher2231 Without a doubt! Best example is the comparison of Pacific Rim vs. Talaat Nam. Pac Rim just did not have that authentic taste like Tal Nam.

I've been watching your videos and keep seeing things I want to try on the next RC cruise. Room service, a martini at the bar, and lunch at Talat Naam. We enjoyed the jazz and it was my understanding the piano player was a guest on the cruise but plays professionally in London.

I talked w/Eva Blossom for a little bit about this. She never said he was a guest, but he was not part of her normal group. She normally plays the piano. One are where Ritz is lacking is with room service. Other than breakfast, it is very slow and limited. But do not miss lunch at Talaat Nam. Truly great food!

Yes, they were very good. We are a little too old for the late night DJ in the Observation Lounge, but I talked to a lot of people who hung out late dancing up there.

Wow. That seems to be a perfect day at sea -- and the jazz group, I would have parked it in the living room all evening! Curious if Regent has similar, intimate, non-crowded music in your experience? BTW - Your terrace looks outstanding. Thank you, Daren!

Yes, Regent does also. I forget the lounge name, but it is usually on the 4th deck. There they have different smaller artist duos, trios, etc. But their performance usually lasts about 1.5 hours total. In the observation lounge, you can listen to the pianist in an smaller setting also. Thanks for watching!!

I alway look for your videos. I was on the regent explorer the cruise after Jonetta starting in Aukland and ending in Bali. We all know what happened there. Doubt I’ll ever sail with regent again. We are sailing on silversea in may. Hope It will be better. Not sure is I like this ritz Carlton yet. I’ll keep watching. Have fun

The first thing I noticed about your lead-in shot to this video is the lack of a tablecloth. It's a pet peeve of mine whether it is in a room or in a dining venue. I love to dine at a tablecloth-adorned table. It sets the mood for the meal. In a restaurant, it keeps the noise level of the room down, too. I recall that in one of your Regent videos I asked you about the noise in the dining room and you said it was loud that day. How is it on the Evrima? (And what the heck does Evrima mean? It sounds like a new pharmaceutical.😀

Ha! I have no idea what Evrima means either. The room service "Service" was not up to the standards set on Regent. But on Regent, we were in a suite that included butler service. When my wife sailed on Explorer, and not in a butler suite, she told me that the room service also did not set the table. Noise in the dining areas we pronounced, but not as bad as the Compass Rose dining room on Regent.

We will be doing a full comparison video after the series ends, but service was about equal, Regent has better room service, Regent's inclusives are better, and we like the small Ritz ship better.

Glad it was helpful! The first night from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini, we did not feel a thing. It became a little more rocky after that, but not enough to cause see sickness or to grab the rails in the hall.

There seems to be a lot of eating. Any activities to do on the ship in between all the meals?

There are not a lot of activities run by the ship. They will usually have a DJ by the pool all day, and music in the Living Room in the afternoon. You really have to make your own day int he spa, fitness area, pools, etc.

Earlier videos from a few months ago seems to show that Ritz Carlton couldn’t find enough crew, as the result upper deck was self service, and restaurant service was slow, wonder if it’s still true?

The upper deck was self service outside, but had a full service bar inside (not sure of the hours it was open). Not sure if that was a staffing issue or a conscious decision. It was more of a sun deck with very low guest numbers. We only had one slow meal service and that was a single lunch in Mistral. In every other venue, the service was pretty speedy. The food is cooked to order, so compared to other cruises, it may not come out as fast. But, that also means that is was freshly made and of much better quality!

Self-service laundrette is interesting. I assumed such a place would not bother making people wash their own clothes.

Yes, valet laundry is included on Regent and Silverseas, but not on Ritz!

Not quite sure what you are asking. If you meant Ritz, I am a member of Marriott Bonvoy, and Ritz is under that umbrella. So our elite status gets us a few things, and we get 5x points for our fare.

Oh yeah! Johnetta got that on her cruise on Regent over New Years. She was stuck on the ship with her mom for 10 days, and played every game the cruise director set up!

It depended on the time. Plus we tend to favor the less crowded areas. Apparently in the top floor club, they had lots of people dancing to a DJ while this jazz music played downstairs.
