I bought a pair, I do a lot of training on the aqua heavy bag. They were very stiff at first but after a couple of sessions and breaking them in, I think they are excellent. They fit snuggly, and you can make a proper fist which gives you the feeling of a lot more control. The D30 does make a nice snapping sound, even when your doing a jab. As for the down side, let's not mess about....its an expensive peice of kit
@csquaredboxing

lol! Yes they are definitely expensive but like you said, the hand compartment is great and the protection/ feedback you get from them are fantastic. Still like to see the price a little lower towards the double digits.

Another great review. Beautiful looking gloves, but out of my budget. You mentioned that there are other options which are just as good for half the price; could you give me a couple recommendations in that regard? I just got a pair of Twins Special, but they're too loose around the wrist so I'm still hunting for good bag gloves. I'm 6 ft, 200lbs, hit hard and have somewhat long fingers. I'm a Massage Therapist, so ample padding is important to protect my hands. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Thank you for another great review. I've been watching your videos for years now and I've taken your advice on at least two occasions --- bought the Fighting Fury and the Fighting Road gloves, both of which were awesome. So I was hoping you could help me once again. I own the RB 50s and I love the feel and the ability to make a tight fist, but I'm looking for a glove that offers a little more knuckle protection. Can you tell me if the RB10s allow you to make that same tight fist as the RB50s, or are much stiffer?

Great review mate and it was nice that you touched upon an aspect of these gloves that I also really like and that’s the nice, crisp impact sound you get from them as you wade into the heavy bag or work the pads with a coach. Really nice feedback from them as you work the bag/pads. I haven’t regretted purchasing them in the least. Again, great review. Just out of interest, my old sparring gloves have finally given up the ghost and died on me so I’m in the market for a new pair, what would your personal recommendation be? Looking to spend between £170-250 on them (so about $220 - 320 US dollars), any particular recommendations? Thanks and great work.

@oakcakaya
@oakcakaya 4 года назад
Carlo I agree on the d3o. I appreciate the d3o application but it is just a great idea in theory for boxing equipment. For a motorcycle helmet, it makes super sense because d30 hardens when Met with a force, but once it is hardened than it becomes a hard material. For a bike accident, it is great to have that in one occasion and you buy a new helmet but for boxing we hit 100 times or get hit over and over. So unless the material hardens and softens like a gel, I can’t see the use of it. if it was very good protector for repeated impact then all pro fighters would switch to d3o head gear but they still prefer winning. This is totally my opinion, and In my view a gel layer covered with latex outside for response would be the solution. Gel is great absorber, and latex with leather finish is great to hear the snap sound, aka pop.

It's crazy what COVID did to the price of things. Just a few short years later, these gloves are now $230. That's a 40% increase for the exact same glove.
@csquaredboxing
@csquaredboxing 10 месяцев назад
Agreed. The past 3-4 years have been crazy worldwide and we’re seeing the trickle down effect. Some of the price increases are warranted (inflation/ cost of goods) but some of its also unnecessary because of greed. I’m sure the truth falls somewhere in between that.
@William-Bill-Munny
@William-Bill-Munny 11 дней назад
LOL Covid was NOT the problem. It was all the "free" printed money that ends up being a tax on people who must absorbe the inflation cost of buying votes with printed money. It doesn't take an economist to figure this out, but you have to see through the propaganda and excuses.

Thanks for the review. I’m the same height and weight and the only thing holding me back was this weird sizing they chose instead of just keeping it to ounces. I was concerned about the looseness at the wrist/forearm because I also heard that in other reviews. But the fit doesn’t look too bad on you. I just don’t want to go down or up in oz. I’ve been hitting with 14oz at the bag forever and don’t want to change that. So the XL’s are definitely 14oz or 16oz? The rival site says they’re 14oz but I want to be absolutely sure from someone that has them in their hands and knows the difference in oz size.
@csquaredboxing
@csquaredboxing 5 лет назад
Yeah the XL is about 14 ounces and actually fits pretty good and has a slim profile. I’m 5’8 about 145-150 with medium hands and I like the size. L will fit you good as well.

Thanks for the review. Now that you’ve used the Rivals bag glove and the Hayabusa T3, which do you prefer for bag work? Right now I’m deciding between the T3 or one of Rival’s more expensive models. While I do care about wrist and knuckle support, what I want most is a glove that lets you make the best possible fist. I don’t see much point in fancy features if you can’t get your hand fully closed before you slam it into the bag. Do you have a favorite between the Rival and the T3? Or should I be loooking somewhere else? I’d love to hear your opinion on what you think is the best bag glove you’ve tried. Thanks again for taking the time to make these videos.

Between the rival and the t3 I prefer the rival hands down. Better fist placement and ergonomics for the hand IMO. Knuckle padding is great for the bag as well and gives a satisfying pop. T3 are nice, just not as comfortable imo and the padding is bouncier.

@@robpriv3014 after owning both the Hayabusa T3 and the T3 Kanpeki leather models...I got to say that Hayabusa are genius when it comes to marketing...but their gloves are below par when it comes to how much momey they ask for. Like he said, the padding in more bouncy and the feedback is deadened for me, the knuckle protection is also just ok. The wrist support is decent, but not miles better than other brands. For $130-$170, if i could go back i wouldn't buy them. I spent $190 on a pair of Cleto Reyes with extra padding....now THOSE gloves are worth every penny. Well used them couple of times, like the feel of them extremely comfortable, Being my first Rival gloves, are all Rivals inner linnings sweat wicking ability, this bad, feels like they need full day to air out, compared to a winning or cletos, I think the issue I find is that big warning 2x2 sign inside the glove that is a sweat trap, while more establised older brands just have a small disclaimer

Question #1; Is the RB10 worth the extra $ over the RB11 bag glove? I'm on the fence and was considering the Fly Superloop X 16 oz- but the cost was holding me back but I see the RB10 is only a $25 difference in price over the Fly but the RB11 is a about a $60.00 over the Fly. Question#2- For overall wrist protection/ alignment, shock absorption what of the 3 (Fly,RB10,RB11) would be superior? Or is it really just too close to call?
@csquaredboxing
@csquaredboxing 4 года назад
To answer your question, no, the RB10 isnt worth the extra money over the RB11 IMO. I think the RB11 offers the same level of protection, comfort, and feel as the RB10 minus the D30 technology which I dont think makes a difference (at least from what I've felt). For wrist and shock absorption of the 3 you listed I'd still give the slight edge to RB10 even over Fly because of the wrist lock style strap that covers higher up on the lower part of your palm; so you're getting better support on both your wrist and hand because of how the velcro straps crosses over your hand. Bottom line from what I can tell, get the RB11

But I hated amateur fighting with giant gloves so I want to stay smaller. Bag mitts seem like the choice but is spending the extra $60 for around 14 oz (I know that they run heavy) better for my wrists? They’ve been broken. Rival has the comfort but Cleto has the quality. A more comfortable hand compartment than Reyes and the padding is more dense than both Reyes and Sabas because of the layer of D3O it uses. These feel great on the bag because they absorb shock very well and the hand compartment is ergonomic.

Imagine a car crash; if the car’s hood gets hardens on impact, you d die in it immediately but if the car hood softens and moves with the impact, than it will obsorb the whole impact, that is why we have air bag technology not a hardening hood in our cars

The quality and protection of the glove for the first 6 months was unrivalled to any other glove I've used, but the bare minimum amount of padding has been very compacted due to the heavy use and now the protection is no where near what it used to be. They're 2 gloves with different purposes. The RS11V is a very superior glove. Very pillowy feel to it, the PU leather is very high quality, very snug. Honestly the best fitting glove for me. I use a 18oz and the wrist support is amazing. However due to the fact its a sparring glove. Its solely made for the purpose. The RB10 has different padding as you see which is meant for bag and mitt work, made out of rich PU leather as well If you want something in between youll want to look a hybrid gloves So depending what youre looking for its up to you. Between rb1, rb10, rb11 and rb80 which would you recommend (and why) for the best protection on a really hard bag. The 10's and 11's seem nearly identical. Cheers

Rb11 on a really hard bag because it has the multi layer foam and harder density for shock protection and specially on a harder bag

@@csquaredboxing thank you, that made my decision for me. Now I just hope I get the right size so the cuffs close tight enough, like you mentioned in your video. Long fingers, big knuckles with thin wrists can be tough to accommodate.

TheLoras Yes, in every aspect. Quality, craftsmanship, everything. However these are probably better for hitting the bag but the Winning is a better all-around glove.

As of July 2024 and government inflation policies of "free" printed money - these gloves are $224. Yikes!😮 I still bought them but only because of the D30 padding and craftsmanship. Inside my work boots and other padded gear longevity has been excellent, far veyond foam life spans. I would rather spend extra once rather than buying something twice because of a foam where cells broke down forcing down time on another purchase. Just my experience, yours may vary.

I like the rb11 a little more as the rb10 with the intellishock feels a little gimmicky. The rb11 is also cheaper and uses the same wrist support technology
