Anthony to Toy Companies: “Where’s the effort? These figures suck.” Toy Companies: “If they suck so much, why won’t you make your own figures?” Anthony: “...Alright, I will.”
The fact that you did this by yourself is beyond impressive. All the thought, detail, and time that went into these is insane, I can’t wait for the Kickstarter.
I’ll reserve judgment until we see some final factory pieces. There’s bound to be errors and flaws and he might finally realize how difficult it truly is, especially when it’s out of his hands.
@@I_am_not_alive02 No, I wish him success. He's obviously invested a ton of time into this and they're cool looking pieces. But I'm an architect and I'm all too familiar with spending hundreds upon hundreds of hours painstakingly crafting, and reworking a design only for some contractor to say, "I've never done it that way before!!" and inevitably screw the whole thing up. And if you ask them to fix it, they'll try and charge you more. Factories are no different in that respect. They aren't in it to bring your dreams to life. They're in it to make anything and everything as quickly and as cheaply as possible. But yeah, me just a hater...
@@Supertomscustoms Which is why bespoke is always more expensive than mass-produced items. But I'm rooting for Anthony as well. If he succeeds, he may become the next McFarlane Toys.
I wish him all the success in the world, but he constantly shits on Marvel Legends when that line is putting out product WAY beyond the quality of other producers like Mattel at the same price for a wide range of characters every year. These are NO-NAME characters for 2 to 3 times the price. I'm psyched for the improved articulation, but if they're the same price as SH Figuarts for no-name characters, how is he showing up anyone? I'll support Anthony and add these to the shelf, but this should honestly be a moment of reflection for such a bellicose reviewer.
Man every now and then I come back to this video, these figures look amazing Anthony you are really talented, I can't wait for these to be available!!!
Were gonna get his own take on the Bucky Cap mold. Lol! But in all honesty, this looks like such a great line. After hearing your critiques of figures for some time now, its great to see your input being executed in your figures. It’s like someone said “if you know so much, why don’t you make figures?” And you literally went “ well I do, and I did!!”
Is it weird that I already hope Anthony puts out accessory packs!? These look great! I have so much respect for the artistry you have poured into this line.
These look amazing. I'm excited for the kickstarter & seeing these come to life (so to speak). Ninjas are always the coolest, and cyberpunk ninjas are even cooler than regular ones 😁
@Ken Penalosa you obviously didn't watch the video to the end. Samurai are also cool, but ninja being the coolest is the code for having watched the video to the end.
I honestly can’t wait to support this line. I have a lot of faith in this project. These are going to look amazing next to stuff like mortal kombat, tmnt, overwatch and other types of series with this kind of look. Also these look so much better than a certain other figure line that was just made. You have all of our support and I’m glad you are taking your time to make these perfect for you and the customers.
Bruh if this line goes successful, imagine if Anthony buys a Marvel license or DC, he would go on Head to Head with Bandai and Hasbro this is just Mind blowing!!!!!
Can’t even imagine a spider man, Batman or Deadpool figure by him. It would look insane. I’m hoping he goes for something like avatar the last airbender or Ben 10.
As soon as these are for sale im buying as many as possible, ive been looking for a figure like these for over a year for a stop motion film and you sir have made it ❤ great job and keep up the awesome work!
NINJA ARE THE COOLEST. Hopefully they ship internationally, it's so apparent with this video that a ton of love and care have been put into them, spectacular !
Been following you since 2015 and I cant believe how much you've accomplished since then, the figures are amazing and your content is always improving. Cant wait to get my hands on one of these.
It's kind of insane to think one guy did this much design, sculpt, and production alone. Seriously BRAVO!!! I'll back the Kickstarter just to see what the hell you can do with an actual budget
When the kick starter goes up, if you can please, have an option to get them all (or most like 4 or 5) in one pack! I'd gladly drop good money on a rad set of great figures! I can put up an entire team on a shelf. Thanks! Great video. Great work so far! Super cool!
Ninja, the coolest. Really appreciate the engineering on these! Have you considered just sculpting a base body for modders/artist mannequins like bandai's body-chan/body-kun? Since articulation is a major consideration, a plain body with no specialised sculpts to impede posing would be pretty awesome.
Anthony, my man! Congrats on how far you e come with everything thus far, this original line is shaping up to be excellent figures, your attention to anatomy combined with form and function is stellar. Looking forward to these!
Ninja are the coolest! Anthony, these are BADASS! Amazing theme, awesome look, everything looks superbly designed and I am stoked that you made this video highlighting the things you did RIGHT with these figs that so many expensive figure-making companies consistently get wrong. Love it, and you are so righteous for working your ass off to make them pretty affordable. Can't wait to get my hands on even one of these masterpieces!
I've watched this video at least three time now, so ninja are the coolest X3! And it's crazy how you were able to figure all this out on your own. I've already trusted the things you've said about articulation engineering, but this just proves you actually know what you're talking about. All the people claiming you're just a hater and too picky about figures desperately need to watch this to see that all the stuff you're asking for can be done.
These figures look beyond dope, There's indeed a great mesh between it's design and articulation features. The posing quality is nice for people into display and the sculpting is just on point which is sad, that toy companies don't put in the effort as much as it seems compared to this 👌
Articulated Icons were around $35/figure and included lots of accessories. The deluxe figures were more and included lots more accessories. Look at the red ninjas vs the new Hasbro Hand army builders and they're pretty close in value. You get more accessories from AI, but useful BAF pieces from Hasbro if you purchase the rest of the line. I just hope the AI weapons will fit into the Hand...hands.
Ninja are the coolest when you make em. The designs are so cool and the inspiration you took from other designs isnt super noticeable but makes them have some really cool design cues. Hoping these'll be shipping to the UK with the kickstarter cuz I'll 100% be backing it. Great job Anthony.
I'm looking forward to this so very much! I've been eagerly awaiting this for a few months now and will soon get to see these figures in a far more in-depth view. I'm hoping to see what new information for the Kickstarter is (like when it will happenand and how much the figures will cost per pledge tier or figure). From what I've seen on the Rival Collectibles Instagram, the figures sculpts and articulation looks phenomenal and hope this is only the beginning of much much more.
I know that this line is still early in production, but I would love a female figure (or several) at some point down the line. Most action figure companies never get female anatomy and proportions right with high articulation--One or the other almost always gives some. I feel like you could do an awesome job of blending the two (and actually give us double jointed elbows 😩)
I would chose pins even if they were more expensive, simply because I know how to work with those if something needs changing for whatever reason. That they might be cheaper makes me love them even more Oh, and ninja are the coolest. ;)
Honestly these figures are the coolest I actually really like the ninjas and the samurai I really hope these get big and someday I can see these on store shelves!
I've been watching this channel for years now, so I'm quite aware of your standards for action figures. These look very promising and whatever complaints/shortcomings I could mention, they're either down to personal preference (mainly how hips look), budget limitations that are quite understandable or you explicitly said you were working on making the line even better. Just like I did via FB, I wish you success and I'm looking forward to seeing more.
I don’t know how i am just Now seeing this video and i’m super late but omg i’m blown away. I already love the concept of the cybernetic/cyberpunk ninja style to begin with, the articulation just seems wicked, the character designs are perfect for the world of action figures so that translates very well, and for being a solo project there were tiny details i honestly didn’t expect to be done with such great execution. I hope this project is still in progress and that it hasn’t been abandoned because i will most definitely be interested in these getting released to the public
Thanks. It's not abandoned. It's just slow being that it's only me working on it and since it's not making nay money while it's in development, I have to keep doing my usual work primarily.
This video is insanely satisfying lmao. Like after all the criticism you’ve given and all the crap I’ve bought, you’ve really created something special here by applying it all. It’s so impressive. I’m still excited about these just by the sheer quality of these prototypes alone. I can’t wait!
Anthony's Customs: They have great design, details, and articulation with realistic human anatomy and proportions. Collectors: Do they have nipples? (BTW: Ninja are the coolest)
I've been looking on RU-vid on how to make action figures and there wasn't much videos about it. Many weren't as good or as in-depth as your content. I too want to start making my own toys and then making stop motion animations from the figurines I would make. I'm really glad that I've found your channel so I could learn from your process. 👌😎
Hey, Anthony! I am so pleased to see your efforts towards this! Your reviews are a cornerstone of my figure buying decision! I hope you still pursue this production. You’ve been one of the best, and the first when i started watching back in the day, at customizing already made figures. (my favs today include excorpeo) And when i notice something that irks about a figure like from Marvel Legends and nobody is saying something, YOU are the voice of reason! You and I agree on everything! I have my own superhero stories that i’ve been trying to draw and get publish. My Art turns heads in public. Also i have surveyed people and they become interested in finding out more about characters purely because of how they look. I hope one day if you get your Rival Collectibles brand off and running, we can partner up. I’ll keep a lookout for your kickstarter. I’ll be happy to draw your characters for you free of charge. Forgive my ignorance, I don’t know anything of your 2d artistic prowess. Maybe you have that handled.
oh btw, along the lines of you and i agreeing, i draw realistically but then amplify certain potions to be more graphically exciting. e.g. I DO NOT draw the rib ridge as in traditional superhero comics; that alien mass between the pecs and abs. i draw the abs all the way to the pecs the way its really is, and then amplify the top pair of the ‘six-pack’ to correlate with an exaggerated v-taper. Not too stylized, but enough to be not boring. I see how your sculpting is in the same credence!
Anthony man, these are incredible! A truly impressive work of art. While some have found your reviews to be overly harsh on a given figure at times, I find them to be mostly fair and balanced. And its easy to see why you're so critical when one sees the painstaking effort you have put into finding a balance of form and function into your own. Great job man!
Also have you considered sending factory prototypes to fwoosh? Cyber ninjas are definitely things up his alley, I think that he'll enjoy them. Which means more kickstarter funding and hopefully, more future figures.
I've been all in from the moment you started streaming the sculpts pretty early on. Absolutely enammered with your aesthetic and these just look like incredible figures. They will go down in history above and beyond other kick-started figure lines for sure
Ninja are the coolest! And so are your designs dude. You are achieving something I’ve always dreamed of and I’m super happy for you. I love your reviews and I can’t wait to collect these figures. Keep up the amazing work!
Longevity of joints? Are they designed to remain reasonably tight overtime? Durability of construction? We play with our toys! Sculpts are amazing! Concept is amazing! Robots/cyborgs and Ninjas are iconic. I've been a fan for long time. I rely on your reviews, because you are unbiased and honest. Looking forward to Rival Clan!
Wow, this is a dream come true! I've been watching this guy's videos for many years now and he always explained how articulation can have better range in ML, I've wondered how this can be achieved in case I make my own customs, and now he's making his own figures! Much respect. It ain't easy and he can easily do this only for himself, but he's doing it for the small nich community we have of toy collectors. Can't wait until they come out so I can compare how much better the articulations are against other figures. This man can possibly take out a whole toy company with these!
After his Kickstart of these awesome figs, it would be cool to make large and small scaling for this toy line, that'd be great! And then same with female figures. Ps, ninjas are cool! 😎
"Ninja are the coolest!" Hey Anthony, I love these figures and your attention to detail. Thanks for paying close attention to the articulation, especially in the ankles. I'm in! When your Kickstarter campaign starts I will contribute. Stay safe and take care buddy!
Everything I ever loved most didn't amount to anything close to my love for ninjas. They are the coolest. But the most badass has got to be them Cyber Ninjas! I'm looking forward to supporting.
