Custom Rc Upgrades has blessed the Rival mt10 community with a much needed motor mount! made of 7075 higher quality aluminum, and I'm here to test it the only way I know how! link below for the mount. customrcupgrades.com/?s=Mt10
Have you tried the M2C carbon motor mount ? I'm using the carbon mount on my trucks and it seems perfect, no bending or slipping so far and it's been bashed pretty hard. I was straightening my old mount after every use. The CRCU mount is the same price in the UK once the postage by each company is added on. I Wondered if 1 is any better than the other if you've tried both ?
Nice video and great information... .. . I just picked this vehicle up and I'm swapping it out to brushless while watching this video. I'll have to keep an eye on the motor plate/mount. Thanks for the heads up!!!!! Happy New Year 🎉!!!
Thank you. I'm glad you found it informative. I also have a maintenence Playlist for the mt10. I cover diffs, shocks and other modifications. Link below to that Playlist. Mt10 maintenence and repair series: ru-vid.com/group/PL078TarPS1VHqq1_CM4iaa62JN633iDwV
No sir. I've already tried. Those parts just are a larger scaled version of it. Almost exactly scaled up. However, many traxxas Hoss parts are "LOOKING" like they will fit. I've got shocks, shock towers and driveshafts coming for future videos.
@@captaincouldverc heh, I am waiting for my freebie from M2C (the carbon fibre on) because I contacted them with the idea and helped them with the design a little because they did not have the truck at hand. They promised me one many months ago, time for an email😂 The M2C one is a bit different, the motor holes are aligned with the adjustment hooks because in the original design the holes are in the narrowest part of the mount.
@@radiovlogi Atleast it's free 😆 Personally I wouldn't trust a small slice of 3mm CF to handle the job of a motor mount. Carbon fiber doesn't have the structural rigidity needed for a piece like this. For a peice of CF to handle the load required in the nt10, it would need to be at minimum 5mm thick, and then it wouldn't fit.
@@captaincouldverc could be, I don't know much about materials. I do believe, though, that it is stronger than the original part which is not even a machined part, just some stamped kind of piece of very porous aluminium:D If the carbon one fails I'll get one of them 7075 CNC machined goodies for sure. Actually two because I have the Pro4 and MT10
@@radiovlogi I only know cause I'm in the process of opening a CF manufacturing company. That's why I never made a video on it. I made one and verified for myself it will not work for most bashers on the mt10. If you have Facebook, you can go search the mt10 page for the m2c mount failing. The common complaint is with the bigger power systems, it just bends when you hit the throttle on 3s+ The piece from crcu isn't like the potmetal stock one. It's machined from 7075 billet aluminum. Very little porosity.
