Rivals of Aether is an awesome fighting game by Dan Fornace with a beautiful cast of characters and an AMAZING soundtrack.
When I saw the Patreon request for this theme by Kishoro, I immediately lit up, Flashygoodness, the composer, did an amazing job on the soundtrack and this theme in particular really stands out from the other amazing themes. I feel like my style fit so well into this kind of composition.
I wanted to go into this arrangement just guns blazing with some shred all throughout. It's a quick and to-the-point theme where every section has a role in the composition. I reached to put a lot more layering of guitar parts in more so than I usually do. I felt that his theme just needed to feel dense and epic throughout so you feel captivated by it. I'm sure you can tell in the video but some of these lead melodies are absolutely INSANE as well. The little transition parts are where it just becomes bonkers. I wasn't sure if I was going ot be able to nail them but with enough takes, I was able to finally land them and I love how they turned out.
Overall I had such a blast putting this together and I hope you guys enjoy this cover as much as I enjoyed making it!

Awesome playing as always Question: how does one produce that raspy sound at 0:49 and 0:54 ? Is it just overtones clashing?

Thanks! Those are flat 2nd dyads where you ring out 2 notes at the same time on different strings. And the notes are a half or whole-step apart from each other, giving it a super dissonant sound. Then I'm adding the tremolo on top of it :)
