April release date confirmed? Rad. Sylvanos looks like so much fun to play.

Yeah, like the first week or two of April from what they've said so far, with the reveal for the other character coming with him (air-zoner-mech-probably-a-snake), coming at the end of March.

it's in the same genre of platformer fighters, but not quite smash. No ledge grabs whatsoever, all characters are very unique (no clones, for example) and feels like a non clunky melee. Anyone can wavedash in this, whereas beginners probably can't in melee. Don't need to be that good at it to have fun in this, as long as you have friends of similar skill. No one is completely broken and overpowered, and anyone can win a tourney. It's pretty cool. Should check it out if you haven't played it before.

The only thing that's annoying is how much health the flower has. 10 Health is a lot to clear, and it's really easy to spawn another one. Sylvanos basically will have full grass control of the base level for most of the game. I personally think the flower should have less health, probably 4 or 5.

Well it's down to 1hp and despawns when he dies. At least his up air connects better at later percents.

eh, i'd say he probably is the worst of the lineup. he's still decent, just not fun

At no point did I think this character resembles ivysaur

FTW Strategy Well for one, it's a joke, of course Dan didn't pay him. Second, if it's because you're only used to Brawl Ivy, play a better game. In PM, her seed bomb is similar to Sylvanos' projectile in terms of trajectory, they have similar normals, they're both zoners, have a sweetspot at the end of a long ranged move for great killing power, and much more

yea dan has talked about it and said they might do an new visual animations for the older characters in the future

Dan made the old sprites himself but has passed the newer ones over to better artists, so yeah, there's a pretty clear difference in quality.

MockRockTV I still have a soft spot for the original cast. I find the sprites very charming.

Javion Brooks I love how they actually have very specific and unique kits. Some specials I have never seen other games in this type of fighting genre pull off, probably my favorite would be Forsburn and his clones and smokescreen.

@@Chr1sT0fu It's arguable that it's better than melee. Melee is accidental greatness, this is fine tuned to near perfection with patches supporting competitive play and more releases all the time.

@@ubberJakerz You literally gave zero concrete reasoning as to why you think Ultimate is better than Melee. All you said is that Melee was unintentionally amazing (although there are definite intentional game design choices that make that game amazing, i.e. the way movement was designed, how landing lag can be cancelled, the way ledge and airdodging works), and that for Ultimate, Nintendo intentionally tried to make it competitive. That is not a reason as to why you think Ultimate is better. That's like saying a professional baker made a cake, and then a newbie just tried to make one, and even though the newbie's cake actually turned out incredibly ("accidentally") and even better than the professional's, you're still saying the professional's is better.
