Well earned to everyone to worked hard to make this game.

They really outdid themselves. They could have just made a 3D-remake. But they changed so many of the puzzles and added entirely new content. Cyan's still got it, all these Ages later

I bought this game the second it came out. Riven was one of my favorite games as a kid so I couldn't tell you how excited I was when I found out Cyan was taking over the Starry Expanse Project. This remake absolutely has the soul of the original game. The amount of flavor details is on another level. I remember reading through the journals and actually commenting on how the ink appears to fade then darken suddenly, and you could just picture the writer dipping his quill and continue his writing. It took me about a week to finish the game, and I'm completely blown away. Bravo, Cyan.

I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Riven again, so familiar and yet so many changes that made it a totally new experience.

Playing this in VR has been such an adventure. I played the original with my father and brother back in '97, and getting to relive this story again almost 3 decades later in VR is just astounding. Thank you Cyan. This series is special to me.

This has always been the ultimate Cyan game in my opinion. Myst is also brilliant and Obduction has incredible atmosphere but when I think of Cyan, the most magical atmosphere was always provided by Riven. And I played it on a Sega Saturn no less! I'm hoping for an Xbox version for this one. 🤞

Absolutely fantastic! Bought it the day it was released, and finished playing it last week. Every bit as enjoyable as the original, only with *STUNNING* graphics. If you can play it on an HDR monitor, I *highly* recommend doing that.

Take notes, devs. This is how you remake a game to reintroduce it to a new generation, reinvite the older generation to return, and introduce new elements that make the once-familiar new. Well done, Cyan!

One of the most inspiring games I've ever played. I completed the original in its time and finished the remake a few days ago. This game was one of the reasons why I became a game designer. Timeless, refined to the extreme, a true masterpiece of its genre.

0:17 that view of the lava elevator arriving a the BOTTOM is not easy to get! You have call the elevator up and not ride it, and go all the way around the islands to the other side!

This was a magnificent acheivement when it first came out. There was nothing like it. There still isn't. Its magical and from a time where creativity really mattered and inventive minds experimented in the fledgling world of computing and its limited powers. My word, did Cyan deliver. Its a Masterpiece and no matter how many accolades it gets, it will always be worthy of more.

Myst and Riven are pure magic, and being able to play full 3D recreations of these masterpieces is a joy. I wish I could personally shake hands with every single person who made this a reality, and tell them they are blessed with true brilliance. Having this, especially now in VR, is one of the greatest joys to me, having played the original on my school's Apple computer back in 1999.

Cyan, well done. I had the Riven CD when I was a kid, and I think I used a tutorial for it, but didn't remember a single thing except for a memory of Tay. Waited all these years and picked up VR last year. Let me just say I blew through Myst and Riven without any tutorials and loved every second. Please, please bring the entire series to VR. I have no desire to play flat screen. There were quite a few crashed with Riven (Steam version), and there was one major bug that made me walk around the island aimlessly for days overthinking things because I couldn't figure out the solution. Other than that, this deserves all the praise in the world. The remake in VR on a powerful 4090 rig using a Pimax 8KX with 160deg horizontal FOV was truly a visual treat.

This new Riven remake is everything the reviews say -- soo good. Bravo to the original and the current Cyan teams! I still have all my original Cyan CDROMs from Myst onward, and Riven has always been my favorite of the entire D'ni franchise.

bought it 20 years or so back when it was available on the ps 1. still one of the best games i've ever played. thanks for the worlds you created!

I read all the books, I still have them. I remember the first time seeing the game, I was so excite. Can't wait to play it again!

Just bought this on GOG. I've had Riven ever since it was originally released and I've played it many times. So much so that I recall most of how to get through it. Had to figure out how to install the original on 64-bit platform years ago (there are workarounds). Played through getting to Riven and exploration on mid-level laptop with decent separate graphics processor. Phenomenal. A bit weird using pad and arrows that I've never done before but OK (getting used to it.). The ability to move freely about is fantastic just like the 3D MYST. Cyan and all the other volunteer contributors did a phenomenal job on it. Many thanks for bringing Riven to life on a current 64-bit Windows PC platform.

Absolutely worthy of a perfect rating! Thank you to everyone that worked on this masterpiece.

Well-earned. I hope to see Exile and Revelations remade one day. Revelations was my first entry into the series and it has a special place in my heart.

You kids today with your fancy 3D walkaround Rivens! Back in my day, if we wanted to move islands, we had to switch discs! Wanted to look around? Too bad! You'd be stuck with the view you clicked on and LIKED it! We had to CRAWL under the door, none of this wacky hinge removal tomfoolery! You had to take NOTES to solve puzzles! You think you could do the waffle iron on memory alone!? It was that, or print out a 100+ page walkthrough and boy would your ma be ticked if she found out where all the good printing paper went! In all seriousness, this game deserves every accolade and it's been a real joy to see new life injected into an old favourite.

Best game of all time. Always will be. Thank you Cyan...
